  1. Mirage?? Sorry, can't see them.[] You might want to post some pics to help with your sale.
  2. I'm sure they do. Nobody's going to pay $500.00 for a set of speakers they know nothing about. If you think about it, a Klipschorn, is an odd looking speaker for the uninitiated. Combine that with the fact that they went sooooo fast, I'm sure they knew what they got.
  3. Hey Chip, welcome to the forum. I'm sorry that I won't be of much help identifying your amp. I do know however that a driver swap may not help you. When a designer creates a sub, he matches the driver characteristics (TS paramaters) to the enclosure. He takes both of those into consideration when spec'ing an amp. It's not just that it's a more powerful amp, the crossover in that particular amp is most likely set lower than your original amp and it's sending the driver signals lower than it's meant to reproduce. That's why it seems like it's being overdriven. A stouter driver MAY help but getting the right one that will work with the new amp and old enclosure will be a crap shoot at best. Chances are extremely slim that you'll stumble across a perfect match.
  4. You'd be surprised around here. There's not a lot of Klipsch product locally. I think there's only 1 other forum member that's in this immediate area. Normally you find a lot of things in the Houston C-list but that's an hour and a half from Beaumont. Sorry I missed it too[8o|]
  5. There's a website in south east TX where people can list items for sale, job postings, garage sales, cars etc. It's like a little craigslist without the wackjobs. I NORMALLY check it every day by going to the classified section and typing in the keyword "Klipsch". This is the same website that I found a pair of pristeen KP-201's for $25.00. Lately there's been a 5 piece Synergy set for sale and not much else. The ads normally run for a month then drop off. I did NOT check the site Wed, or if I did it was early in the morning. Yesterday (Thu) right before lunch I checked it and there were 2 ads for klipsch speakers. The second one simply stated Klipsch speakers for sale, good condition $500.00. I clicked the link and there was a pic of a beautiful pair of KLIPSCHORNS! I immediately e-mailed the seller (only contact method listed) and she got back with me mid afternoon. She said someone was going to look at them in a couple hours and if they didn't buy them I could have them. According to her the cabinets were in great shape (looked it by the pic) and the speakers worked perfectly. About 9:15 last night I found out that I missed out on them. I've been kicking myself ever since that I didn't check earlier [:@]
  6. Great post, welcome back to the fold. Post early, post often! Carl
  7. He obviously hasn't posted it in the Klipsch Garage Sale section yet.

    Jeep Radio

Crutchfield has 5 pages of radios that will fit your Jeep, most under $300.00. They'll send you everything you need, harness adapters, brackets, faceplate, etc. I've used them several times with great results.

    Jeep Radio

Sounds like the radio then. The reason I asked if it was an Infinity system is due to the fact that 2 of the Infinity speakers have built in amps that will go bad. They're wired really strangely and can simulate a radio issue.
  10. Triple post, the least you could have done is left the pic[]. I'll look around and see if I have anything else trade worthy.
  11. No problem at all. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. I've got another smal sub for home use that you'd like but I'm going to hang on to that one. It's one I built.
  12. How about a nice smallish MUSICAL subwoofer driver? The Q series is the most musical driver Ficar makes. I can also send a small sealed box carpeted for automotive use but will work in home. All you'd need is an amp stable to 2 Ohms to drive it. Anything up to 1500 watts will work.

What's wrong with the radio, and was it an Infinity?

I don't think you can get them new anymore. All you can get is an exchange unit from the dealer which is basically a repaired used radio.

    Infinity system or not?

Time to go aftermarket. Was that a replacement or exchange?
  17. That's almost as nice as the rack you posted yesterday.
  18. One more major HDMI feature that bears mention is the HDMI Ethernet Channel. The HDMI Ethernet Channel is a method by which internet connectivity can be shared between properly equipped devices, without the use of additional wires. For example, if your blu-ray player is connected to the internet, your television can also be connected through an HDMI Cable With Ethernet. As with the Audio Return Channel, all the equipment and devices must specifically be designed to process the HDMI Ethernet Channel. Unlike the Audio Return Channel, normal Standard and High Speed HDMI Cables are not capable of carrying the Ethernet signal - you must use Standard or High Speed HDMI Cables With Ethernet. With many devices now equipped with wireless network adapters, the usefulness of the HDMI Ethernet Channel is somewhat diminished. However, a wired Ethernet connection can produce greater speeds and throughput, so the HDMI Ethernet Channel is worth using if your equipment supports it. (Credit Monoprice website for info)
  19. Yeah, I don't see those selling anytime soon lol. Not unless they knock about 2500 off the asking price.
  20. Not much help here either, but you're definitely thinking outside the box. It appears you're trying to horn load the vent? I'd try to increase the length of the existing horn to increase extention as opposed to creating a horn for the port.
  21. His name and number are right there in the ad. Odd that e-bay would allow that. You can't even send a phone number over their message system.
