  1. [] I don't care who you are, that's funny raht thar.
  2. Texas seemed to have made a statement last night. That was quite a comeback from being 6 runs down.
  3. For HT, I'd research subs from SVS, HSU, ElementalDesigns and EPIK. Klipsch's best bang for the buck sub is the SUB-12. Not their very best sub (but it is a good sub), but best value/dollar.
  4. Chicken Run? Don't you have to at least be able to sit through a movie to consider it good?
  5. My first HT setup consisted of RF-5's in the front accompanied by the RC-35 in the middle. I liked the sound but knew I would upgrade eventually. My first step was to upgrade the center channel to the RC-7 and later move the RF-5's to my bedroom and put the RF-7's in their place. The difference in the center channels was amazing. The best way I could describe it was like you took an RF-7, put it in a cardboard box and listened to it. That's what the RC-35 sounded like compared to the RC-7. My best advice to anyone starting out in a mostly HT system is to put the bulk of their speaker budget in the center channel and subwoofer. Those 2 speakers will give you your best bang for the buck. You're going to get more information from your center channel (dialog, etc) than any other channel so you want the best speaker you can afford. The subwoofer gives you the tactile "feel" of a movie and a good sub completes the HT experience. Upgrade the other speakers as you can to bring them in line with your center and sub.
  6. Welcome to the forum. I had that exact speaker combination at one time and really liked it. The RC-7 and RF-25's are in different leagues, I wouldn't mix them. As far as the price goes, it's a little steep but not unreasonable. I wouldn't think 1300 would be a bad price. 600 for the 5's, 400 for the center and 300 for the sides. 1200 would be a no brainer to me.

Welcome to the forum. If you don't get a response here you might try posting in the "Computer Speakers" section.
  8. I've got a Harmony 880. Although it won't do backflips (without help) it will do everything else you ask. If the component you want to run has a remote (like a Lutron lighting system) it will run it. On top of that, their tech assistance is top notch. All you do is pick an activity from the main screen, like watch a BlueRay disc, and it does all the switching for you. That includes dimming the lights if you have that gear.
  9. First I'd get the sub off the same strip as the rest of your AV gear. If possible put it on a seperate circuit alltogether. If you end up wanting surgre suppression for your sub, be sure to get a supressor rated for more than your sub can pull at max output. Many sub manufacturers recommend going straight to the wall.
  10. Can you run an RCA to your sub from a sub out on your DVD or CD player? Use a different cable. That would eliminate your current cable and sub out jack on your receiver as being the culpret. I mightr even try a high level (speaker wire) signal and see what happens with that.
  11. Awwwwwww.......put a muzzle on it whydoncha. Tom BadaBOOM.

  13. One of my techs has a BBQ grill that mounts on his truck where the receiver hitch would normally go. We had burgers and ribs. Pretty tasty.
  14. I can't say that it's causing your issues, but I wouldn't plug the sub into the Belkin.
  15. Shoot, what's the point of this thread. If your aim is to lock this thread then you're off target.
  16. The bad part is that you have to do it all over again tomorrow to stay on the list[:S]
  17. That reminds me of an old pirate joke.
  18. Nah, that couldn't be it.
  19. No Music. He must not have paid his electric bill.
  20. For 500, you might be able to find a nice pair of RF-5's. Tons of bass with the right amplification. They're a really nice sounding speaker with much more bass than the Heresy's.
  21. I respectively disagree. Virtually every website I frequent has a forum link on their home page, which was my point to begin with. I couldn't guess the numbers but I would think the forum accounts for quite a few site hits. If it is a proportionally decent percentage points of the total site hits then I would think it deserves a link on the home page. The forum here is now difficult to find, especially for the uninitiated.
  22. (In regards to the forum link not on the home page.) Sounded like a good idea, so I tried it. The problem is that now, I most likely won't ever see the home page again. My favorite brings me right to the forum. I bought a set of Custom 3's that I believe were linked to the home page at the time. If there are specials or something worthy of the home page, I doubt I'll see it.
