  1. Seems as though there are members available to help out with understanding this terminology. I do know the room and speaker placement has a lot to do with how much the music is presented to me. Maybe a new section to help with the set up of an audio system or whatever could be a good thing. Not sure how much trouble it would be for Amy make it happen, or at least something on a temporary basis. I don't know, just thinking.
  2. Beg borrow or buy an sacd and stick it in there to find out if it works or not.[]You lucky dog! new toys are quite enjoyable especially when they make an improvement in the sound.
  3. ...............how did I miss this Thread? Thanks for the heads up on this instrumental music. I'm not a member over at the Carver Forum so I didn't see anything there.
  4. Rental DVD's from Redbox I clean and sometimes very well before putting them in my machine. Thank's for all the information about the reflective coating on top.... [8]
  5. Your request to have them call your wife is certainly not out of line. If someone can not follow basic instructions or put out the effort to do so may not be the person you want working in your home. I'm trying to keep a dozen organized and motivated at my job and it can be challenging sometimes. Take your time and if it takes 100 interviews it will be worth it because the good ones are out there.
  6. This may seem silly but should I be cleaning the colored top side or the shiney bottom side? ...............I've been cleaning the shiney bottom side thinking that's where the music is extracted.
  7. No, but I have noticed you avatar and don't understand what that's all about.[]
  8. That avatar always captured my attention, interesting.
  9. So how loud is this buzzing, with your ear next to the speaker, 3 feet away or head from the seating area?
  10. Spikes + tile = YIKES.... not what I would want...! I was thinking the same thing! I used to have spikes on some SF1's when I had carpet...... Maybe youre right about that, if they are moving around to begin with it may not slow them down... []
  11. I think thing's like that happen to test ones patience. Mark is good about replying to an eMail.[]
  12. Try some spikes @ Parts express.com
  13. Tuesday morning and it's STILL 16 degrees outside here in Klipschianapolis. Winter will not let go.
  14. The original was not working at all and the wire wrapped around the coil? was expanding so much the fan blades were rubbing on it. The first replacement fan was too loud and the second to be installed from Mouser is very quiet. The online info about the original fan was supposedly a 2 speed. I took a voltage reading of 117v so I bought a single speed for that v reading. Time will tell if it works ok under load.
  15. I totally understand what you are saying. That is a good example of why some think audio people are just plain crazy.
  16. I hope this method of attachments works.
  17. Here is the #1400 I don't have the top off the PLX at this time. Let me go out to the shop and try to get a picture. Bear in mind the first replacement fan I bought was much larger and this 2nd replacement is smaller. I've made a metal adaptor plate so it will fit somewhat properly. I guess the tall tree looking things are cooling fins of some sort. Don't know why the first picture did not show up.
  18. Well, it's not a PLX and it's hot compared to the newer PLX and depending on which way I bolt or rivet the fan into place it can blow towards the front or back. Guess I'll go back to front.[*-)] Pressure drop is baaaad. []
