  1. What insurance company is going to pay $110,000.00 for a cockleor implant, an $85,000.00 heart bypass, (not a transplant) $29,000.00 gall bladder removal, $200,000.00 cancer treatments and operations, and I have only touched on the common simple operations for older people. Answer: None JJK
  2. Colterphoto1: Now that's dedication. JJK
  3. Why should I have to pay $300.00 for something the factory should have done for nothing? When I ran the AVIA dvd on my Sony 46XBR2 every test came out perfect with the exception of deep blacks. The automatic Digital alignment at the end of the assembly line with equipment much more expensive than $10,000.00 should align the HDTV in seconds to perfect. Not a big mystery to me. JJK
  4. What is ISF Calibration? JJK
  5. Daddy Dee: That's funny. I like Spam. It was introduced in WWII for the grunts and the local populace in those ravaged countries loved it. But I guess if you are hungry you are not particular. They thought it was a delicacy of sorts. It makes a nice sandwitch. I like bacon sandwitches from Crackerbarrel too. And I thought that after eating Spam your hearing range increased to 25khz. JJK
  6. Daddy Dee: How do you know that hi-fi nuts were not discerning in their listening? JJK
  7. Avoid it like the plague. Same as the internet "E" mail scams. JJK
  8. Saw on tv yesterday a small airplane style three wheeler that supposedly gets 300 miles per gallon. This is a terrible violation of the laws of physics. And I didn't believe it. JJK
  9. I have noticed over a 44 year span with the K-horns and Cornwall being in multiple home locations that when I pulled the woofers there was no evidence of critter nests in the enclosures. Mine were decorator models without grillcloth and no guards to prevent entry. I wondered if there was some kind of magic stuff that kept out the pests or Rock & Roll music? JJK
  10. The imaging in my living room is not very good so I flipped on the old CBS test record glide tones and holy crap, tones moving all over the place. (supposed to stay in the same place) Rather than re-design the room (Starfleet Command says no) added the sub (Cornwall center already there) which helped even out the bass a bunch. Then set the Denon to PLC II and that really helped tons. Added 5.1 small side speakers and that really helped. A small room probably you want to keep the SPL down some. JJK
  11. The vendors usually try to sell the towers with power supplies included. The cheapo ones have paper thin metal (beer can) and quickee card pressure locks instead of screw locks holding the cards in place. These pressure locks are so fragile the cards will work out of the motherboard over time. The fans will actually cause vibration of the metal sides of the case because the metal is so thin. Look for 120 mm fans in the case. JJK
  12. Muriatic acid is not sulfuric acid. Muriatic acid is nitric acid cut 8 to 1. JJK
  13. One of the things the government can temporarily do is relax the EPA auto standards. Most vehicles have the timing computer controlled to allow combustion chamber temperatures of 1450 degrres for minimum nitros oxides. If you bump the timing up to the just before pinging point you will get about 20 % more gas milage on your vehicle. I tried this on a Buick v6 and the milage jumped from 24mpg to 32 mpg. And no pinging. But you know the government won't relax the standards even on a temporary basis. A new computer chip woold have to be inserted into the computer. Not a big deal. JJK
  14. Also gasolene is used at pressures of 35-40 psi and almost 0 pressure in the tank which negates the special pressure testing requirements of 4500 psi tanks and specialized safety hoses/fittings. JJK
  15. Free trade: 4 bushels wheat=1 barrel of oil, 4 bushels of corn=1 barrel of oil, 4 bushels of soybeans=1 barrel of oil, 4 bushels of rice=1 barrel of oil, 1 barrel of strawberrys=1 barrel of oil, 1 barrel of apples=1 barrel of oil, 1 barrel of beans=1 barrel of oil, 4 bushels of oats=1 barrel of oil, there's more. JJK
  16. They haven't even found gravitons yet. They must be in the floor as I always fall downward. JJK
  17. The thing about Cornwalls is you wonder how a conventional looking speaker can sound that good. It's a wonderment. JJK
  18. Well you know according to Congress 31 billion here, 31 billion there and pretty soon your into some real money. JJK
  19. In reference to whoever said they sounded good in adjacent rooms, my living room has a walk through doorway from the kitchen and the overall sound is very good in the kitchen with the high end cut down some. Kind of surprising I thought. Volume set around 98 DBM. JJK
  20. Just found out the Smart car is backordered a year and a half and they can't make them fast enough. Demand is through the roof. JJK
  21. Air compressors that pump to 4500 psi are not very widespread. The tank certification will be a nightmare and have to be certified every six months. I have a problem seeing Joe Blow and Jane Blow handling 4500 psi fittings and fillups with fittings and hoses that have to be certified and tested every six months. Congress will have to change the laws and just think of how rich they can get. I can see the headlines now---"Jane Blow severes head while refueling air car with defective hoses repaired by her husband"---. JJK
  22. And keep in mind there is HDMI 1, 2, 3.1, and the beat goes on. Same with the cables. Some of the switchers are very expensive. JJK
  23. I saw my first real live bright yellow Smart car yesterday. It went forward and backward and it had windows. JJK
  24. It will help if you learn a lot of "horse songs" to sing along while you work through the day. JJK
