  1. LOL (and certainly not)... I was just trying to help duder out. I spent a couple of hours this afternoon figuring out all the profile editing options...
  2. You can edit what that says. Go to "edit my profile" , and right above "my birthday" where it says "Member Title"...
  3. I'd like to have the ability to format the forum in widescreen on my monitor. I know it fills the screen more than the old forum did, but it would be even better to be able to have it fill the entire width of my screen...
  4. Sorry, but they have already been spoken for. Someone else claimed them late last night after I turned off the computer, so I didn't know until just now...
  5. What I have here are 4 vintage Fisher literature items, all in mint condition: 1. WS-1 speaker system brochure 2. XP-1 speaker system brochure 3. XP-9B speaker system owner's manual 4. Fisher tube brochure Typically, these type of items sell for $10-20 each on ebay. I am offering them up to the first person that wants them, only asking $10 to pay for postage and handling. I would also take an item of music media (CD,LP,SACD,DVD-Audio) not already in my collection in "trade".
  6. What a shame. I fondly remember the days of reading Hi-Fidelity and Stereo Review magazines back in the day, drooling over all the gear that I could not afford as a youngster. I especially loved reading the late Julian Hirsh's equipement reviews. I too wish I had kept the many years of issues of both of those great magazines I used to have in boxes. I finally got rid of them 5 or 6 years ago...
  7. I'm going to give it a couple more days, then I'll be looking to part these out. I think it would be a shame to do that as they still sound good, and if one could find a replacement woofer for the one, they'd be 100%. Like I said earlier, most of the time it is not even noticeable that one of them is bad. I'm sure an aftermarket woofer (probably a better one at that) could easily and relatively inexpensively be found. As a last gasp effort before parting them out, I'm reducing the price to $150 for a local pickup. I'll drive up to 100 miles to meet up with a buyer for an additional $25 to help cover my fuel...
  8. Ideally I'd like to use them when I listen to CDs or watch music concerts. I'll experiment with them to see how they'll work for HT but with a 35Hz bottom end I'm sure I'll miss the output my Outlaw sub has below that. Trip to Radio Shack tomorrow for a couple RCA to 1/4" adapters and I should be good to go. Excellent! You must have a pretty large room, and/or a very understanding wife... [H]
  9. Looks like you did very well for $80!! Any plans as to what you'll use them for?
  10. he used to be a klipsch owner and is fortunate to have the dough to keep searching for audio bliss. He sells the same stuff on lots of other forums. And if he is constantly searching where else is he supposed to unload his gear? Craigslist people usually aren't looking to buy selah audio. I know, I see him selling the same gear on other forums. All I'm saying is, some people frown upon people who just visit forums to sell items. If they contributed to the forum in other ways, perhaps they wouldn't... [*-)] At any rate, I'm done here. Have a good night everyone...
  11. You know, I hate to "complain", as it's not in my nature. But, I don't believe it's proper for to people come to our forum pretty much soley for the purpose of selling items in the garage sale section. Other forums frown upon it, and some even have written rules forbidding it. I don't know, perhaps it's not my place to speak up...

    Some sad news

Jeff, I am still full of deep sympathy for you and the loss of your dear mother. I just read the obituary, and I must say that by the photo, it appears to me that you resemble her a great deal... [{][}][A]
  13. I am putting these back up for sale. However, I believe one of the woofers needs replaced. Recently, I noticed a rattling type of sound coming from the rear port of one of the towers. I figured it was simply the port tube or something else loose inside the cabinet. I removed the side mounted woofer to take a look inside, and I could find nothing loose. I then played some bass heavy music while holding the woofer in my hand, and it is clearly an issue with the woofer. I can't find any tears in the cone or rubber surrounds, and the entire magnet assembly is covered by the shielding device, so I can't be sure what the issues is. I am thinking it must be either the spider, or most likely the voice coil? Mind you, the speakers still sound great and I have only noticed this issue with a few CD's with powerful and deep bass: Holly Cole's "Don't Smoke In Bed" and "Temptation" SACD's, and Shelby Lynne's "Just A Little Lovin'". As long as you don't turn up the level knob to the built in sub amp too high, you may never even notice (I keep it around the 10 o'clock position). Or, you could search for a replacement woofer, though I emailed Boston Acoustics and they no longer have them in stock. With that, I will now let them go for $200. Due to the size and weight of these, I will absolutely NOT ship them. Local pickup only, or I will drive up to 100 miles each way from 14845 to meet up with a buyer. If they don't sell in a week or so, I'll try to part them out.

    Some sad news

Jeff, I am saddened to hear of your loss. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers...
  15. I cannot believe nobody has snatched this up yet. At Bill's original asking price it was a great deal, and at his latest price reduction it's a steal for such a great high end/built like a tank unit!! [] If I were not currently unemployed I'd be all over this...
  16. Thanks Bill!! I could say the same about your Integra universal disc player, I cannot believe nobody has snatched that unit up yet... [*-)]
