This ad is from a paper in Middleburg, FL. The asking price seems high, but he doesn't say what the "matching center" is........and it does say obo. The ad started on 1/21/06. "Klipsch full surround sound. Ethic CF4 front matching center, KLF 20 rears. Cost $4500 at Sound Advice, sell $2000 OBO. 904-305-2209" Good luck, Rick.

Vman, Could you make use of another KLF-C7crossover? I have one that's missing a round wire coil.......not sure what it does (or did). The coil broke off when the speaker was shipped to me and I just replaced the whole network. I might even be able to find the "coil", but can't be sure right now. Just send me your address through a pm and I'll mail it to ya'. Rick.

We all need to be careful when meeting someone (with a pocket full of cash) to make a transaction. Always use extreme caution in these situations. Rick. -
I need some e-bay 101, please help
Thumpelstiltskin replied to customsteve01's topic in General Klipsch Info
The seller has responded to my question. Here's what he said: "I've checked the Tweet's and Mid's. They are K55V for the mid horn and K77 for the tweeters. I am assuming the Low's are K33's. I've not pulled the bottom off to verify that as I have problems with my back. So... assuming that everything is original (which I believe it is) They should be the K33's. Cross-over is Klipsch Balancing Network Type AA. Also the labels on the back are intact but surprisingly reveal no serial number. They are however signed by the tech who tested them. The labels ARE original." By the way, Cal Blacksmith's post about sniping is great. He gave a thorough description of what sounds like an excellent program. THANKS C.B.!! Good luck, Rick. -
Sorry about the diversion Speedball. I'll try to help with the amps now....... We used NAD amps in the soundrooms where I worked years ago. They were good amps when run in stereo, but the 2200 and 2600 really did sound better when they were bridged. A pair of 2600s driving Fortes used to be my favorite combination in the whole store. I say......Go For It!!! Rick.

Well, it would either cure him or kill him, that's for sure. Rick. P.S. - You can't see me in the picture, but I'm under the one on the right side. If you look close, you can see me frantically waving a bag of chips, trying to get someone's attention!!

He deserves it. Here's a pair of babes I think you can hook him up with. Let me know if you need their contact info.

Birch Raw Cornwall with mitered joints?
Thumpelstiltskin replied to Corvette6769's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
I think all Cornwall IIs (from 1985 up) had mitered corners.....even the raw birch ones. Am I wrong? Rick. -

Steve, Is there any chance you could go hear these speakers before bidding? I caution you against bidding much higher than the current price of $375 without checking them out first. The seller says these were used in a disco, so you can bet some of the drivers have been blown before. In my experience, most club owners will replace the drivers, especially K-33 woofers, with a cheaper alternative. If you add the price of new K-33s (shipped) to the current price, you're looking at over $600 for the speakers. Also, even when someone tells you the tweeters are working fine, it's not unusual to find them to be blown when you get there. You're looking at $50 to $200 to repair or replace a pair of K-77s, so be careful not to bid too high without personally inspecting these speakers first. Good luck, Rick. -

Steve, I guessed you are talking about the ones in Maryland and asked the seller about the drivers and networks. I'll let you know if he replies. Good luck, Rick. -

Who knows what this guy is selling. The "University" cabinets could have any number of valuable drivers in them, and the "Paul Klipsch center channel" could be a single Belle.........you just never know. "TWO LARGE 1960'S UNIVERSITY, handbuilt stereo speakers, with maple finish, and Paul Klipsch center channel, air tight, minimal amplification required, $699 obo 313-310-1311 Detroit" Good luck, Rick.

I posted this ad a few days ago. The seller is in N.C., but he has the boxes. You might ask if he'll ship the RC-7. I doubt it. This guy is a true Klipsch fan. Look him up and check his profile. He's got quite a collection. Rick.

I'm using a Denon AVR3802 receiver with a Mac MC2205 amp driving the mains. All five speakers are Cornwalls from 1978. I also have two big, powered subwoofers. The sound is simply amazing, especially in the surround modes. Rick.

I'm voting for Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo. Maybe worst movie since One Hour Photo. Rick.

GM brings back the Camaro muscle car
Thumpelstiltskin replied to Thumpelstiltskin's topic in General Klipsch Info
It looks like history is repeating itself, since the Camaro was originally built to compete with the Mustang that sold well in 1965 and 66. Now that the "retro look" Mustangs are selling well, Chevy and the others want a piece of that market. Ya' know, 2009 sounds like a long time from now, but Chevrolet has already introduced some 2007 models. Still, I think they should hurry and build the new Camaro asap. They'll sell like crazy. They'll sell like candy flavored crack. Rick. -
