  1. No need to purchase third party software. I use Windows Media Player. You can also use Itunes which you can download for free. There are any number of other media players which will work with Roku products. Mick
  2. I have two Roku Soundbridge units (M1000 and M2000) and love them. I use them with Windows Media Players and record in WMA Lossless. Haven't used any of the other similar devices but I really enjoy the Roku. Mick
  3. Anyone know what the MSRP was in the recently discontinued Klipsch RF-15? Mick
  4. I received my BlueBerry Xtreme a couple of days ago and all I can say is WOW! Shortly after I ordered it, my condo neighbors moved -- a great opportunity to crank up the Khorns. It sounded so good that I began to wonder why I was replacing my McIntosh pre-amp. But I have to say, when the BlueBerry arrived I was astounded. I didn't really expect to hear that much difference. Mark, your product is incredible! Beautifully crafted, gorgeous cabinet, fantastic sound -- great detail and a wonderful openness. Imaging is improved by an order of magnitude. I didn't know how great the Khorns and the old MC-240 really were. Now I'm going to settle back and listen to my entire catalogue of recordings! I'm hearing things in my old favorites I've never been able to hear before! Mick
  5. Give Michael Allen a call at Jolida or email him at jolidacorp@msn.com . I've found Michael to be very helpful in my dealings with Jolida. Mick
  6. A McIntosh C-28 would match the MC2505 and is a nice pre-amp. One thing I like about the C-28 is that it has two main outputs, each with a center channel output. I have a very nice C-28 and love it. In fact, though I've order a tube pre-amp and really should sell my C-28, I just can't bring myself to part with it right now. Mick
  7. Thanks for the input, guys. I spoke with Mark this morning and placed my order! Mick
  8. Guys, I've the hots for a Juicy Music BlueBerry Extreme. Trouble is, I'm running a center channel and the BlueBerry only has one Main Output. Klipsch used to sell a little box to derive a center channel but they nolonger make that box. Anyone know of a source for such a box built with good componants? Mick
  9. Check out "The NPR Guide to Building A Classical CD Collection" by Ted Libbey, Second Ed., 1999 He covers the waterfront and makes suggestions for specific recordings. Mick
  10. When I purchased my 902s, I asked the same question of the folks out in Oklahoma who make it. No difference in sound quality and for home use we don't need the plug. Mick
  11. I use Blue Jean inter-connects on my McIntosh/Klipschorn system and am very satisfied. Good build quality and good connectors. IMHO you can't get much better cable than Belden. I've used their cable for years in Amateur Radio applications. It's excellent. Mick
  12. I use a dedicated 300 GB external hard drive with my PC. Connects to my pre-amp via network and Roku M2000. I use WMA lossless format and Windows Media Player. Sounds great PLUS I get hundreds of internet stations. Mick
  13. I agree with AL K. Use the 811s. That's what I use with my Belles and they sound great. Mick
  14. This tandem trike is a real kick to ride but I can't get the photo to post! Sorry. Mick
  15. I really don't think there is a "world's best speaker"! I've owned a variety of speakers over the years and enjoyed every one of them. However, at some point in my audiophile journey I'd get a knot in my britches to have something different. Had a pair of Bose 901's when they first came out in the late 60's. Then came the ESS AMT 1's. I really liked their sound but got excited about a big pair of Magnepans (three panels for each stereo channel). They were enjoyable to listen to and just awesome to look at but they had to go for a pair K-Horns with a Belle for the center. I kept those for about ten years then got all fussed over Quad ESL 63's. In terms of definition they were simply wonderful but like the Maggies a bit shy on bass. Then I tried a pair of Digital Phase. But alas, Ive returned to Klipsch. Every pair of these speakers was totally enjoyable. I do love my present K-Horns and Belles. I hope the bug to re-tool doesn't bite me any time soon, but that's totally unpredictable. It could happen any time!
  16. I had a pair of Magnepans. Good speaker -- power hungry! Traded them on a pair of K-Horns and never looked back. Mick
  17. Congrats, Trey! Post pics when you can. Mick
  18. Chops: I'm using Al K's ES network and the Beyma CP-25 tweeter driven by a Jolida 707A integrated amp. Don't know why the pic didn't post. I'll send it to you in an email. Mick
  19. Chops, You're going to love that 902! I'm using the same driver in my Belles and it is terrific. Mick
  20. I had a ton of these Crown amps -- DC-300, DC-300 series II as well as Crown pre-amps. Unfortunately, Crown nolonger supports their vintage equipment. When I had a problem with one of my pre-amps, Crown referred me to a place in the Chicago suburbs. They never did quite fix the problem. Without factory tech support, vintage Crown prices have slowly eroded. That's why I sold all of my Crown gear. Mick
  21. I have a box of LPs I'll bring to Hope. They're free for the taking to any vinyl lover. I just don't listen to LPs anymore. Most are in pretty good condition. Some jazz, big band, a few country, more classical, some Christmas. Mick
