Craig, Those are nice, I personally don't know if its a good deal but I bet it was. I want to get some tubes myself. Some day I will. Do the little fishermen guys come with??? Still enjoying you cd.............. Thx Steve -
I know most of you will not like this. Being from Texas its almost an obligation to like Country music. George Strait, 50 Number Ones, Country, CD I have seen him in concert several time, very good preformer, from what I understand he is a really good down to earth person, my sister-in-law has met him several times in San Antonio. Any way thats my suggestion for this week. I really like a very wide range of music, with the exception of Rap. Steve

website has alot of info on it. Would make a pretty cool bedroom system with a pair of my KG1's hooked up to it...... soaking the wood in Sake to make plyable to stamp out a cone, someone was really thinking outside of the box. Steve

Where did your Klipsch "dream" begin???
customsteve01 replied to tommyboy's topic in General Klipsch Info
1992 in Houston, TX. We had just bought a brand new house and needed a system for the family room. Looked around and listened to several systems and ended up at Home Entertainment (that is now Tweeters) once I heard them I was hooked. Was torn between the KG5.2's and the Chorus, well money came into play and we got the KG's. They have been such good speakers that I never really thought about changing them out or upgrading until we started looking into adding onto our new home in VA, and adding a HT room. They have preformed flawlessly for me for over 13 years. Which after getting on this site I see that 13 years is nothing for Klipsch speakers, its just amazing that in this day and age of everything not lasting very long so companies can sell it to you again, that there is still a company with quality in there products. I will always be a Klipsch fan and a BIG speaker lover. Never a HT in a box for me............... Steve -
LOUD music: how do you keep your neighbors happy?
customsteve01 replied to kenratboy's topic in General Klipsch Info
Living on 10 acres helps, cause I know the house I live in isn't very sound proof. The wife comes home and says she can hear it the second she opens the truck door. -
I set my referance volume at 75db using my Rat Shack digital meter and I always end up turning up the center channel during the movie so I can hear the dialog. I was wondering if anyone else has this problem. Steve

SPEAKER CABLE <signal on +> <ground on ->
customsteve01 replied to zman's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
can I ask why are you using coax cable for speaker wire??? Steve -
M00n, Lets put it this way I don't want BBQ or smell anything smoked for a week or so after the cook-off. When you first arrive the smell so good but after 4 days everything starts to taste the same.............. Steve
-
Well I had to come back from vacation. I had all week to recooperate from the cook-off, the weather in VA didn't agree with uilding fences, so I just bummed around the house watching movies and listening to music and doing inside chores. The cook-off was great and I drank and ate entirely too much, but hey its a once a year thing. We didn't win with the ribs we entered but we kindof screwed up on the amount of brown sugar we added to the dry rub mix and they were not as sweet as they should have been. We had terential rains on Thursday morning buth the turn out was still ok 21,113 people, Friday the weather couldn't be any better and there was a record number of people for a Friday night 61,735, and it rained again all day Saturday so the numbers were down and only 57,188 in attendance. the total for the entire weekend was 140,036, about 43,000 off the record of 183,339 set last year. Our team cooked pretty much nonstop from Wednesday till Saturday night. I think I slept maybe 15 hours from Wed. thru Sun. morning. We did get lots of praises on our food we put out for the masses tho. We keep hearing this is the best mass produced food out here, makes us feel good to hear stuff like that. All in all we had another great year and we are looking forward to next year. Steve

m00n its hard to say how much wood. It would depend on how dry it is and the size of the logs. Yuo want to be able to keep your smoker at about 220 degrees for 6 to 8 hours. don't get it ant hotter than that. you want to go till the meat is around 180 in the center. I have been searching for a picture of a pit like we use but I cant find anything very close. Ours is a tandum axle gooseneck trailer that is covered and has the fire box in the back along with two smoker towers, then on the front half is a grill/smoker (depends on how the air lovers are open). On the front is a stainless steel table with shelves. Its a pretty awesome rig. We can cook 60 briskets at a time. I will post some pictures this week when I am at home.

Thebes, The recipe for what we use is pretty secret. A few years back Sammy (he owns the grill) and Jim started experimenting with dry rubs, they came up with a recipe and since then they have had it mass produced by a company called Zacks. I know there is brown sugar, chili powder, dry mustards and all kinds of other things. The neat thing is that anyone with the recipe number can order it but it doesn't give away the recipe other than ingredients. A few years ago we took home 1st place with our chicken over about 200 other entrants. Every year we have a couple of guys from New Orleans come and cook up gumbo one night and Jambalaya the next. They have a 40 gallon cast iron pot and when finished it is filled to the rim. Last year the Gumbo and Jambalaya was gone in a little over an hour. The food is great but the party is a awesome also. On another note how do the 5.2s sound on a tube amp???
