  1. Look into the Denon 3808-CI. Retail is around 1600, but I have seen where Best Buy/Magnolia is lowering prices on this unit due to new models coming out soon.
  2. Yep I have already marked my spot with the Klipsch facebook page.
  3. Just curious if you knew that there is a matching center for the RSX-4 that you are getting? If it was me I would go that route. If you do get the RC52 or RC35 than the RSX-4 will be the weak link in the system IMO, and you will be bitten with the nasty upgrade bug[]. Check it out below. http://www.klipsch.com/products/details/rcx-4.aspx I guess it depends on your future plans for the system. Is this a system you would like to keep as is or build up to something bigger? How big is the room it is going in to?
  4. Picky, Thanks for the update and glad it wasnt more serious.
  5. Thanks for the information Fotog. Very insightful.
  6. Thanks for the insight guys. Apparently the display is new technology where you dont run into the issue of difficult to read in sunlight. I will try to find some reviews on it.
  7. Sorry for your loss. I have not experienced the loss of a parent/sibling so I cant begin to relate to the pain it must entail. I hope each day gets a little easier for you. Hang in there.
  8. For all you knowledgable photographers on here, I am looking at purchasing a new camera and would like your input on the following camera. Is this a good brand as far as cameras go and how is the price vs. quality feature. I am a novice but want a decent camera and know nothing about what to look for at this price point. Thanks for any input. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9225359&type=product&id=1218062421291
  9. Here is my frontstage. I cant believe I havent posted to this thread yet. Talk about humble compared to the big dogs on here.
  10. I think my favorite movie with him in it would be Saving Private Ryan. Mainly because he doesnt last too long.[] To be fair though, I did like Fast and Furious.
  11. Sorry to hear about the fiasco Youthman. Hope it all works out for you. This is why I will never buy used again unless I know the person. Also why I am such a "detective" when people try to sell their crap.
  12. I believe I have the 24" stands. This puts the horn at eye level when seated.
  13. We moved in on the 15th of June, 08; hence why full rent is due on the 15th. Thanks for the info guys! The way it has worked for me in the past is if I move in on say the 15th, then the first payment is prorated for the remaining month and then the rent is due in full on the first of each month. That has been the norm here.
  14. I use the Sanus wood foundation stands for my RB5II, and they are decent. I have cherry in both speaker and stand and it is a pretty close match.

    Back In Black

Todd, just out of curiosity, how is the vocals with the center on the lower shelf of your stand? I have been thinking of doing that with my setup. With my stand I have to leave the grill off the RC7 so that it fits.
  16. If money is a breaker and I totally understand in these times, you could always get the Klipsch VB-15 for 299/pr at Best Buy. These are the bookshelves for the rest of your ICON set. Use them for your fronts. You say you are in a 11x11 BR serving as a HT and you certainly have a decent sub with the SUB12. Definately not a large room to fill. Now the question you have to ask yourself is this, how long do you plan on having the setup and will it be in the same room? If you want to expand into a system, then I recommend keeping the RF62, saving for the RC62 and returning the ICON speakers. I would keep the sub if you can. Making a sound decision now will save you money in the end. Good luck.
  17. Check out the R50 the latest from Universal Remote. MSRP is $150.
  18. Try www.remotecentral.com. This is a good site for reviews and programming tips and all that jazz. I currrently am using a URC MX-900 and love it. I had a professional program it, and glad I did. A good programmer is worth the money IMO.
  19. I think it was all a stunt, and a funny one at that. Joaquin was holding back the laughter and at some points could be seen snickering. I think if Joaquin was that trashed Letterman's one liners would have went right past him. Reminds me of Andy Kauffman.
  20. Congratulations. I noticed the same improvement to my system when I hooked up my new Denon 3808. I believe I have the same version of Audyssey that you have in the Onkyo.
  21. Well I am still in the "playing and tinkering" stage but thought I would post some initial thoughts. I think it is a major improvement over the 2805. One of the features I was looking for was independent speaker settings for 2-channel and movies. I like to run my mains as large w/o a sub for music. Before I had to go into the menu and make the changes. The 3808 woke up my RF3's at both ends of the spectrum. I finally have nice mids and bass without it being muddy. Nicely controlled. I am going to try to do the Audyssey calibration again using a tripod and turning down the gain on my sub a little and see what happens. The first time I did it my speaker levels were really low (-9.5,-8.5,-9.0,-4.5,-10.5,-6.5). I know the Klipsch are efficient but never had low numbers like that with the 2805. I also like having the ability to set independent crossover points per speaker. It makes the soundfield seamless. I know this is all fairly common in todays receivers but I didnt have it on my old one. See it is the little things that make us happy[]. I need to confirm with Denon if when you make changes to speaker sizes and crossover points in manual mode if that deactivates Audyssey. After doing auto setup it does not allow you to change Audyssey settings. Not sure how that works. I elected to just pass through all video and let my display handle it all at this point. I have everything hooked HDMI, so it is nice to not have to worry about switching inputs or anything. The only downsize is now I need to reprogram my Universal remote (MX900). The GUI is great. It is over HDMI. No blank switching like in the past. I am not sure about the Audyssey Dynamic Volume feature, I cannot tell a difference when those loud annoying commercials are broadcast. They are still loud as h***.I guess I need to get on hold with Denon and see what their take is. I thought that was the whole reason behind Dynamic Volume. Maybe I am a little irritated because I had to do the download for that before I hooked up the unit. I do however like the fact that you can program a ON Volume level for those nights when you are jamming and forget to turn down the volume before shutting off. No more heart attacks. All in all it has been a major improvement to my system- even in preliminary testing.
  22. I went out last night and pulled the trigger on a new Denon 3808CI. I took it home and connected it to my network to do the software upgrade. I wish Denon would have done the update at the factory before releasing it to the store, but all in all it wasnt too painful once I got the network set up. The upgrade was mainly for Audyssey Dynamic EQ and Audyssey Dynamic Volume. I still need to do the auto setup so I cannot comment on those features just yet. I am still in the process of getting it connected in my rack. This really wasnt something I planned on doing just yet, but when the transport failed AGAIN on my Denon 3910 I seriously started thinking about making the switch to Blu-Ray. Since my old receiver was not HDMI and did not have any of the new codecs I figured I may as well start over. Hopefully I will be good for at least 5 years.[] Now I need to start looking around fro a decent Blu-Ray. I have been sort of looking at the Denon 1800 model, but with the bad luck I had with the 3910 I am a little put off. I am going to go finish setting up the beast. P.S. I will probably have a Denon 2805 for sale if anybody is interested for around $300. Excellent condition.
