  1. Do you have pictures? Nay just kidding, What's her earning potential. Could she support me in the manner in which I want to become acustomed? Roc, I started with Oiled Oak and wanted all oiled oak. Then a nice forum member sold me a couple of black forte II's at a good price. Now I have 3 black across the front and the oiled oak in the rear. You turn off the lights to watch the shows anyway. The black ones disappear. The black are easier to find. I do love my 5 forte II's and 2 quartets.
  2. low volume flush toilets Road trips in old clasic cars air miles on your credit card
  3. But does he still have the whinny voice on all of these new releases. Loved some of his song writing but his voice is like fingernails on a blackboard. The only album that the vocals were good on was rust never sleeps. The style fit the voice on that one.
  4. Yea I,m not from georgia or NJ. So I guess I'm out a few bucks. Well I'll wait until next time it is over 200 mil.
  5. Don't bother, your chances of winning are too slime. (especially since I just bought the winning ticket)
  6. In honor of my son's 18th birthday, Alice Cooper Love it to Death, I'm eighteen, Is it my body, Ballad of Dwight Fry. Sputnik, Prine is going to be here in our town this weekend.. I would love to go but I have to go out of town with my daughter on a prep for her foreign exchange next year.
  7. I heard you can either fish or golf. I went to the dark side and I golf. There is not enough time in life for both. Well you can do both but not well. I have a feather lite ugly stick and a box full of lures just drying out. There is always a thrill when the pole gives you those quick tugs and wondering what is going to show when you real it in.
  8. Depends on where. In the pahrameacy 15 to 20, at home 8 hrs a day, well almost? Depends on what you mean as work.
  9. Yeah Tenzip, That was kind of my idea also. I was going to use a TV wall hanger to hold the speakers. This would put the speakers closer and less to the rear from where they are now. I'm not sure I'm going to do it, don't know if it is worth the effort. Hey you guys are getting pounded today with the snow storm. I'm originally from western Iowa, went to Creighton to school. So I'm familiar with your neck of the woods.
  10. Ripped off Hopefully for Roc a happy ending.
  11. After two years partying in a liberal arts college a friend said something about pharmacy school. I liked math, science, biology and chemistry so I thought what the heck. I didn't really know what a pharmacist did. Took one more year to get prerequisites done and grades up enough to get in. Did pharmacy school, and right before graduation when home to 5 yr class reunion. Saw the girl that I went to Jr prom with, she got drunk, picked me up and the rest is history. She was in med school so when I finished pharmacy school I got jobs to follow her around for her residency. Now we have two kids, I work part time and I am mister mom rest of the time. She now supports me in the manner of which I wanted to become accustomed. So just lucky I guess. At one point during college I was working on freight docks midnight shift. I thought about dropping out and taking a full time job doing that. Glad I didn't. Dealing with people in the pharmacy can be a hassle at times, but still not as bad as breaking freight out of the front end of a trailer when it is 90 degrees out or when it is 15 below zero. I don't love pharmacy but I can tolerate it. It pays well, I work inside, I get to help people and at 50 my back isn't giving out.
  12. I don't listen in two channel much at all. It's my theater room. When I go to two channel my Denon 3805 it still uses the sub 2.1. I am sure there is a staight 2 channel mode on it but I don't use it. In that case then I could see having them far enough from the wall. Actually my front mains are out from the wall far enough. I asked the question since I was thinking about flying my surrounds near the ceiling about 10 degrees back from the listening position. I would have to angle them slightly down and front. This would allow some room for the PR but not as much as I have with my fronts. That's why I was wondering if I would loose much sound since they are crossed at 80 and the mids and tweeters would be pointed directly at my head.
  13. Where in the midwest would these three be? What do they look like?
  14. It's not the sub set close to the wall it is the Forte II's. My sub is ported and is set the proper distance from the wall. I just wanted to know what effect the PR's on the forte II's have when they are crossed at 80 hz. Am I getting any sound information from them?
  15. Pauln, Has it ever been used and when? 1998?, 2001?
  16. OB Loved that Robert Cray. Nothin but a women!!!!!!!!!!, I was front row for that tour and got a couple of guitar picks of his to put in my CD case.
  17. I give it two thumbs up. Not for little kids. (i'm not a little kid)
  18. Starbucks Sumatra. Whole bean and I grind at home with a Krups grinder. Made extra strong and hot and black. If my stomache isn't churning and my fingers aren't shaking then I haven't had enough.
  19. Thanks Michael, The icey day turned into 3 days without power. So for those 3 days it didn't matter where they were. That is kind of what I was guessing. So as long as I got my sub going I don't have to worry that much about how far they are from the wall since my fronts are placed on a long wall not close to corners. I toe the two fronts in to aim the horns at the sweet spot at the center of the sofa.
  20. Does the placement of a speaker with a PR like the forte II which I have matter as much if you have a good sub to go with them.. My forte II's are crossed at 80hz and I have a SVS 12/2 ultra. Does the PR increase the sound of waves above the 80hz cross over? Then I could see that the placement would make a big difference. But if the PR just passes sound mainly below the 80hz then their placement would not matter as much, Just doing a little mental masterbation here on a icy day and no basketball games that I want to watch.
  21. I use quartets for my rear centers with the rest forte II's . They sound fine. There really isnt that much sound coming from the rear centers. The tweeters and mid range horn are matches for the forte II. The are also a touch smaller.
  22. Tubes n Horns, Not techniquely speaking the base sounds great. I haven't heard heresys side by side but other people on the forum say the forte II's do dig a little deeper. Positioning is a big factor though with the passive.
  23. Indy, How do you have the extra set of speakers powered? Do you have a separate two channel amp to drive the 525's? I have a TGA 7400 and presently using a Denon 3805 to push 5 forte II's and two quartets. How does the 9.1 work? I'm thinking about getting a TGP 5 which would be about the same as your TG IV.
  24. Yes I have a SVS PB 12/2 ultra. I have it crossed at 80. I use it with 5 forte II's and 2 quartets in a HT set up. Sounds great. Haven't played much with the cross over though.
  25. Hi all, I've kind of been a leech around here and reading your recommendations and not offering any. Problem is I don't get around to listening much so I usually don't have anything to say. Need to move my computer by the stereo not the TV. One I did listen to this week was Todd Snider "The Devil You Know" Americana I guess. Memphis boy turned to San Fran sceen KPIG and such. Didn't like it as well as "That was Me" which is a best of Kind of a young John Prine. Thanks everyone for all your recommendations. I don't like them all but it gives me something else to listen to. Stuck here in the middle of the mid west, the only thing you can get on the radio for new ideas is one NPR station. Everything else is clear channel and the other comglomerate. Use to have a good FM station that played album adult blues, rock, regga, zydico and such. Now all we get is canned 60's/70's/80's/90'sor new rock. Almost all of it is pop. Rest of the stations are doing rap crap. I've almost turned to CW. Help!!!!!!!
