  1. Cornwall,Chorus,Forte would be my choice as they have that kick you in the gut bass slam that is hard to describe until you have felt and heard it!
  2. After a couple year hiatus I am back to klipsch with a purchase of a nice pair of Chorus!!!!! man have I been missing that bass!!!!!!!!
  3. Bill those caps were some I purchased from BEC a few years ago and never used them as I think I bought two sets at that time and gave one set to my brother.you should at least replace the caps and if you want to change the tonal balance then have dean or bob customize something for ya.I personally liked my corns with the mids knocked down a bit but ymmv
  4. You will be in our prayers for a speedy recovery.
  5. Got it Boom, sorry I just cant do it this year gotta work saturday[]
  6. Many will say that speaker break in is a myth but as having heard reference series right out of the box it does take awhile for the tweeter to sound its best, many will say that it is the user who is getting broken in but on the pair I had I left them play while I was away for the weekend and three days later they were a different speaker.just tell him to turn the tuner on and let them play while he is at work[]
  7. that sounds like fun boom lemme see if I can get that weekend off
  8. Hey budman yes those were very sweet corns but alas I traded them off for other gear and have bounced all over the place with tubes and solid state, monster recievers,Ar speakers and am now settled in with a shanling tube integrated and a pair of 5.5
  9. Thanks guys Patrick I still hang around here but mostly lurking these days, thanks for the hello!
  10. I have just picked up a pair of KG-5.5 and I gotta say these are a very nice speaker!!! they dig deep but not to cornwall levels but overall a very nice balance top to bottom and to my ears not as in your face at higher levels which has always bothered me with the heritage stuff.I have had corns, scalas and others but these may just be the ticket for me.any others hear a pair of these?
  11. Ok this may get me flamed but here goes anyway[] My experience with the heritage series is that compared to the RF7 I found the Rf7 to best the Cornwall in the accuracy and imaging department, many will argue that but thats my opinion.we did a blind test at indy between the cornwall 3 and the rf7 and it was a split with 50/50 prefering one over the other.I have owned Corns and lascalas and have always found a bit of bite at high volumes that I just cant handle even with tubes, right now I have settled in with a pair of KG5.5 and prefer the tractrix horn sound.
  12. good call whell the bears defense was non existent most of the second half!!!!
  13. If you decide to ship give me a shout!
  14. Ok Dr I will give him a call and see,Chicagopete the equipment is Perreaux.
  15. DrWho that sounds like a plan to me,what are you doing Sunday or Monday? or maybe we can get something going during the week?
  16. thanks for the fast response so far guys, drwho he is right near me and listens to mostly classic rock, the equipment crossed my mind but seeing as we are talking about a lack of bass I would think that that would be one area that ss wouldnt be lacking
  17. hey guys and gals a buddy of mine has a pair of 75 k-horns with AA networks and he has never been happy with them since he purchased them new 30 years ago, went over to his house this morning and gave them a listen as he was thinking about adding a sub to them.well a couple of things I noted was that these do not have the rubber seal on the back to seal them in the corners, the networks are original, they deffinetly sound weak without the sub, they are in a finished basement with carpeted floors and drywall and stud walls are out 15 feet apart and are being driven with high quality ss gear.I assured him that they should not need a sub and should be fine on their own,so what I am looking for is someone in the area that might be able to give us a hand getting these to perform at their best.any help would be awesome!
  18. Fake tree for the first time in 23 years, the best part is I dont have to cut the thing then try to get it in the stand and listen to the general tell me that it needs to go this way or that.
