  1. Curious to hear your comments going from the RF-7 system to the Palladium system. []
  2. That is the realization I've come to over the last year or so. Middle of the road (maybe a few notches higher!) gear......Klipsch speakers and kick a$$ subs suits the majority of my music tastes very well. Might not be as refined as some of the the systems here.......but very impressive nonetheless. When I can throw in a live recording......crank the pi$$ out of it from begining to end......and feel like I just came from the actual show........priceless. [Y]
  3. I heard RF-7's with a JM Peach preamp and a 35wpc stereo VRD power amp.......at a fellow forum member's house. The difference really set in when I got home. It took about a week and a half before I could start enjoying my 7's again drven by ss equipment. Quite an eye opener.......ear opener......ya know what I mean. []
  4. Long live the internet.....[:S] .........uh, what was I talking about? [:S] You want fries with that.....paper or plastic........
  5. Palladiums = Top Notch......IMO [] .........but I'd never dish out that much dough for them or any other speaker for that matter. Especially since knowing what Klipsch offers at a fraction of the cost. Just my opinion.
  6. JB....You drinking already? It's unlike you to ask that type of question. []
  7. I missed two opportunities to snag an HK 430 for $50.00 in excellent condition.......in two weeks time. Be patient, there are some good deals out there. I don't think you can go wrong with vintage HK or Marantz........they go very well with Klipsch.[Y]
  8. Let us know what you end up with........along with your impressions. Good Luck.[]
  9. Congrats......Good for you []What kind of condition are they in?
  10. I'm sorry to hear about your vehicle being scratched.........but that statement reminds me of my parents when I was a teenager living at home. he he he []
  11. Congrats. The price/performance of the Yamaha compared to the H/K is a great example.......you don't have to dish out a lot of money to satisfy your audio needs.
  12. I can't have people over without them requesting "You gotta play this concert.....or that concert". Klipsch rules. [Y]
  13. The job that I'm working on right now.....replacing 20,000 feet of water main that was originally installed 60 years ago.......has had many, many repairs done to it. Every time we come accross a location that was repaired.....8 out of 10 times we find Schlitz cans that date from 1968 to 1971. Ah, the good old days.......operating heavy equipment with a buzzzzz. []
  14. Much cleaner, less distracting........scrub my kitchen floor Gene........your band sucks now, very lame live show. []
  15. That's great to hear....and yes, it is awesome to have an experience like that in the comfort of your own home. [] I don't have a Blueray player.....not a huge Elton John fan either.....but will probably check out this concert based on your experience. Thanks.
  16. Yes, that's exactly what I had in mind. I went on their site and seen the "REK-O-KUT" phono/aux switch that explains that it can be used for switching between two turntables.........but would this work for my application?
  17. Thanks for clearing that up........sounds easy enough!!! The two-channel preamp is not digital. The digital signal from the receiver will not be disrupted going through the analog preamp?
  18. Please bear with me here.......So if I'm connected from the receiver's pre-outs to the amps......I would also connect from the "A" channel on the receiver to one of the auxilary inputs on the preamp?
  19. The Peach was an excellent preamp...........but wasn't practical with my ss equipment for many reasons. Some day soon I'll venture back down that road. Sometimes ya gotta do wutch ya gotta do......[:^)]
  20. I think this has been covered before.........but I never really followed up on it to get the answer.......so here goes.......[] A digital a/v receiver for movies etc.......... A two-channel preamp for music........... Without a HT Bypass in the two-channel preamp, how can I switch from one to the other with the flick of a switch.......or pushing a couple buttons??? I realize the receiver and the preamp can't just simply be wyed off from each other. I should also mention that I am running external amplifiers. When I had my Peach ll it was really slick because the Peach had a HT Bypass......problem solved. The two-channel pre I'm using now does not. [] I've read about the Niles device but couldn't see how it would work for this. I would think that there has to be a box that you could wye out of to the receiver and preamp that would protect one or the other. Thanks and hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. []
  21. That's really cool.........I've been having a similar experience the last two years or so. []
  22. I can make it on Saturday but not until about five or six o'clock. [] However, if something was to go sideways at work.......threre's a chance I won't be able to attend until later or not at all. Fingers will be crossed.......Look forward to hearing the Palladiums. []
  23. Isn't there a 330 in that family, also? I almost bought one off of craigslist for $45.00. [8-)]
