  1. dude, is there a Longhorn Steakhouse near you? If so, go get a grilled chicken salad from there. I'm here to tell ya that I would actually prefer that over a steak. I mean, I'm a really big guy and up until recently was the king of junk/crap/fatty/sugary foods, but these salads taste so damn good that even before the diet I would take one over most anything. They really are good. Hell, I had one for lunch today. Only 325 calories, too. So that puts my big a$$ up to 495 calories so far today, leaving me a whopping 1005 left in which to indulge, probably a couple of slices of wheat bread, a lean cuisine of some sort and some sugar free ice cream. PLENTY of food, right?
  2. NOTHIN'!!!!!! I hit 1500 calories about 6:15, so I'm DONE for the day. I used to comsume 1500 calories on my WAY to the kitchen, now it's all I get for the ENTIRE DAY! That's what I get for "easin" up to 345. But hey, it's been 10 days and I'm "down" to 330.
  3. me too. I can't believe they are still hanging around.
  4. A man boarded an airplane and took his seat. As he settled in, he glanced up and saw the most beautiful woman boarding the plane. He soon realized that she was heading straight towards his seat. As fate would have it, she took the seat right beside his. Eager to strike up a conversation he blurted out "Business trip, or pleasure?" She turned, smiled and said, "Business. I'm going to the Annual Nymphomaniacs of America Convention, in Chicago." He swallowed hard. Here was the most gorgeous woman he had ever seen sitting next to him, and she was going to a meeting for nymphomaniacs! Struggling to maintain his composure, he calmly asked, "What's your business role at the convention?" "Lecturer," she responded. "I am the lead lecturer where I use information that I have learned from my own personal experiences to debunk some of the popular myths about sexuality." "Really," he said, "and what kinds! of myths are there?" "Well, she explained, "one popular myth is that African- American men are the most well-endowed of all men, when in fact it is the Native American Indian who is most likely to possess that trait. Another popular myth is that Frenchmen are the best lovers, when actually it is the men of Jewish descent that are the best. I have also discovered that the lover with the absolutely best stamina is the Southern Redneck..." Suddenly the woman became a little uncomfortable and blushed.... "I'm sorry," she said, "I shouldn't really be discussing all this with you. I don't even know your name." "Tonto," the man said, "Tonto Goldstein, but my friends call me Bubba."
  5. F U DeanG! Kind Regards Hey aviserated, in case you haven't noticed, Dean is really busy, so your solicitation for some sort of sick "Broke Back Mountain" interlude with him just ain't gonna materialize. Besides, Dean is straight and you are gay, so give up and go find some AOL chatroom where you can pick up guys.
  6. wait 'till you see the Hawaiian Tropic Bikini COntest or something similar. You can see even the lightest and fairest of peach fuzz on these girls. Talk about golly gee willickers.....you can just about smell them.
  7. Jump all over Chris's Denon. You won't find a deal better than that. Good luck on the KV 4. I sold one to a forum member a couple of months ago for $300 and it was in excellent condition, but you won't find a deal like that on one any time in the near future I don't think. Billy
  8. it really is a great receiver, esp. for the money. Not a bad remote, either....again, for the money. It really has very clean solid power and will rock the dickens out of my Rx-7 system.
  9. well you'd have to be an American to know why we think like that. BTW, has Jean Claude Van Damme made any movies lately?
  10. When I started the second system I wasn't out for too awful much. I had RB 35s, RS 7s and a RC 7. I bought a relatively cheap Pioneer VSX 1015 receiver. I couldn't stand it and bought a pair of RF 7s to replace the RB 35s. I can tell you that in Direct Stereo mode the 7s alone will crank out some very clean and powerful sound. I know it could probably get better, there's no doubt. But I almost bought RF 35s because I have heard all the impedence/power hungry horror stories and boy am I glad I didn't. The Pioneer is a cheap receiver. Not the crappiest thing out there but it is indeed a cheap receiver. I don't think I'm gonna tell the 7s though cuz they might start sounding like crap. I think some people get talking about different things and the next thing you know there's problems/limitations with a product that may not be totally accurate. It would have been a shame for me to buy the RF 35s instead because of something like that.
  11. Well, it caused some problems. So here I sit again in the Columbia Airport, waiting for a 7:50 flight. I almost had my wish, I could taste it, and I actually did in the form of a leftover burger and potatoe salad from yesterday. The Flight to DC was delayed 2 1/2 hours. All flights from DC to Vegas were cancelled. All flights originating from Columbia to Vegas with United were full. My boss was on the plane. I leave him a message. I go home, surprise the wife and kids. We're high fivin' and sayin' "yeah, we pulled it off." The boss hits me on the nextel around 4:00....."where ya at, bud?" I'm explaining that whole it's their fault and ServiceMAster Travel confirmed we get a refund and all that thing. I'm just about to the finish line when he says, "well, call Shelley and get her to book you on another carrier, let me know when you get here." which is gonna be 12:00 VEGAS time, making me awake for 24 hrs by the time it's all said and done. All this and, so as not to hijack(no pun intended) the thread, WE DIDN"T EVEN GET ANY SNOW IN SOUTH CAROLINA.
  12. Well, here I sit in Columbia Airport hoping, wishing, begging that Dulles is shut down so I can tell my boss, uh, hey the flight got cancelled so can I just blow off the annual meeting???....but noooooo, the board says UA 7179 ON TIME crap Oh well, I will suck up some some of the airport internet bandwidth and play some 10 year old in a game of Madden '06 online 'till it's time to board.
  13. Hey Gary, My flight to Vegas tomorrow connects @ Dulles. Have you heard of any shutdowns? Billy
  14. of course I did. I purchase ServiceMaster Stock every week and Merry Maids is owned by...........................ServiceMaster. They also sign my paycheck. However, we won't be owned by ServiceMaster much longer. We are up for sale and who knows whats going to happen to me. There may be some great deals on Legend and Reference Series speakers this summer on the forum. You reported her? [:#] Well - no matter what happens, the good news is you probably won't have to scrub stranger's toilets for a living just to get by. Yup, I did. Or in this case, si

  16. Hey Chris, You may already know this but Play has the THX system set up in a really nice room and they guys are always willing to let you have a listen. They are over off Hwy 46 in Kitty's Crossing next to Giuseppi's. Billy Wasn't aware of that ... went over to Custom AV and couldn't get anyone to talk to me. Maybe I'll swing by there this week. Thanks for the tip. They're big into B & W and M & K at CAV and I too have had problems getting someone to talk to me. The owner (Sandy) used to run the Bluffton Audio Warehouse...it was actually some sort of joint venture between AW and her that didn't work out. I bought my KLF 30s from her in '96. But the guys at Play are very friendly and the THX system is outstanding. Go give it a listen. Billy

  18. Well, I for one wasn't impressed with Merry Maids. I had them come in once as a gift to my wife and they really didn't a good job at all, esp. for the price. The kicker was that one of the ladies gave my wife her home phone number and told her next time to call her direct and she could save some money. I guess she had no idea we were stockholders. I guess that's a problem for everyone.......I would bet everything I own that my guys do sidework and probably use our Freon and materials to do it.
  19. Will do. I have to go back to Las Vegas for our annual meeting next week but will get back to a weekly appearance starting the week after. I'll give you a call. Hey, your competition (Merry Maids) is owned by the same company (Servicemaster) as the company I work for, ARS.
  20. Frawley referred me to a shop that works on vintage equipment. I lugged it down there on Friday and described the problem to the guy. He told me that based on my imitation of the sound that it was about a $135 fix. Add to that $5.99 for throat lozenges because my imitating the buzzing sound really hurt my throat. Anything for the cause.
  21. It's a small world for sure. The project at Shelter Cove was Mainsail, (2) 5 story Condo Buildings built by Fraser. We are starting another one almost across the street called Tradewinds, which is actually a series of 28 townhomes also being built by Fraser Construction. The Spanish Wells Road project is called Seagrass and is about halfway down on the marsh @ Jonesville Rd, also built by Fraser, and we recently finished the project across the street from that called Summerfield again by Fraser. Those two projects were developed by David Staley. In Bluffton, we do work for Centex Homes and some commercial projects, such as the Publix Supermarket @ Buck Island Rd, Belfair Clubhouse, Lakes @ Myrtle Park, Old South Apartments, Bluffton Village, The Hospice Care Offices and had Del Webb's business before they sold out to Pulte. Our local office is in Plantation Park, but I spend little time there since I actually live in Columbia. Maybe I'll run into you down there some time. Billy
  22. I was in your neck of the woods today. I wouldn't have thought anyone from Hilton Head would be on this forum. Cool. We do alot of work on the Island and in Bluffton. We're finishing up some Marriott Timeshares around Burkes Beach Rd area and more condos on Spanish Wells Rd and at Shelter Cove. I lived down there for 6 years or so. It's grown alot since then.
  23. If it ain't Scottish, it's crap Mike Myers
  24. Years ago my late brother gave me a Pioneer SX 3900 receiver. I really didn't know what I had and when I started down the road of surround sound I had no use for it and "gave" it to my buddy in Beaufort. Well, I am making a workout area in my garage so asked him if he still had it, which he did but DAYUMMM did he mess it up. I plugged it in tonite and it lighrs up and powers up fine, but I get this loud, buzzy hum from both channels. Now this model is considered by some to be a nice piece, 120 wpc, low distortion specs and built like a tank weighing in at 44 lbs. Does anyone have an opinion about what might be wrong or if it would be worth fixing?
