  1. I guess we all have our opinions on what is good equipment and what is, well not so good equipment. It's human nature to feel that what you chose and spent money on is the best when you are rather biased. Thats why it's so important to do your research and buy well. A lot of experience on this board, just a suggestion but perhaps listen as well as pontificate that your equipment is the best. Your investment sometimes doesn't always pan out. There, that wasn't so bad was it? Not so hard to understand, eh? Cheers and good luck!
  2. Sans: "absence, not included". My dear fellow Klipsch member, I respectively have to ask you: did you not finish high school? Cheers and good luck my friend.
  3. Actually if you can stretch your dollars a bit more, get the Earthquake Cinenova Grande 7 channel amp. It was made to be with the RF7's. Powerful, precise, and offers plenty of headroom. The other amps pretty much are toys (sans McIntosh)....
  4. All I can say my friend is Fathom. Check that my friend and you will be amazed!
  5. Yammies are toy-like and really not so practical in setting up your system. I would suggest looking further than Walmart & or Best Buy for better products. Also the KLF speakers and of course some of the lower grade Denon DVD players are laughable. These have always been considered as starter speakers for dorm rooms. Look outside the box man! Plenty of good infor here! Cheers and good luck!
  6. Looks like a very clean job! Wish I had a son like you[]
  7. Wow, love your set-up! That is an incredible 7 channel amp you have. How long have you had it? What is the output on it?
  8. The RF7's were great speakers and the key word is "were"...they are efficient little guys but just don't have a bottom end to make anyone satisfied. Typically you would want to place a dedicated self powered sub or two within your system, your Rotel & Nad are rather limited in output to say the least. Check out SVS subs, the + series are remarkable if you can fit them into your listening room. Power to move air and then some. Somewhat boomy but for under $2K, that's what you end up with. Hsu are a good match for your RF7's and are quite cost effective. Cheers and good luck!
  9. Check out JL Audio Fathom F112 or F113. It has been given great press lately as a new reference sub even beating out the Velodyne DD18. I just experienced a demo rather skeptical that a car audio company could compete in this arena, but damn this is a performer. Blows everything else away. It's not cheap but still a bargain at $3,200 MSRP.
  10. Hi my dazed and apparently dim friend....ceiling speakers almost always lag behind the performance of stand alones. Don't let anyone tell you differently. AND don't get Klipsch in-ceiling product...you would be better off getting a non-commercial Best Buy/Walmart type setup....investigate, there certainly are good quality speakers out there...just do your research.
  11. Folks, let's all get along, huh? Its all about the sound right? In that case, I am having a special on an Earthquake Amp. 7 channels of pure 300+ watts of power. You need this to run most Klipsch speakers. Plenty of headroom, wonderful sound.
  12. Since 80% of your output generally comes from your center, don't skimp on this main unit. The RC64's are amazing, crystal clear dialog and dynamic. These are big speakers but if you can add one to your system, you will have no regrets later. Good luck!
  13. ummmh you are so right dingbat! I do have JL Audio Fathom Sub's for sale. one word: AWESOME! and thanks for asking!
  14. The biggest bang for your buck is the new JL Audio Fathom Sub's. I just got one (F113) and it has made the biggest impact on my system to date. This is not a toy like other subs out there...SVS; HSU; hate to say it but Klipsch....this is the new reference. Just my two cents!
  15. Take a look at Sunfire's new TGP-5, quite impressive. Their matching 200 watt amp is quite nice as well and well reviewed. Check out Home Theater mag's recent review: http://www.sunfire.com/downloads/Home%20Theater%20Nov2006%20TGP-5-TGA-5400.pdf Good luck!
  16. You may be waiting for awhile for that replacement RC64...I understand they have been on backorder fro some time from Klipsch. good luck!
  17. With your budget, check out Target...they have some actually nice Fischer like components that could fit your situation. Also Walmart always has some good Audivox stuff. Cheers!
  18. Check out the Earthquake Cinenova Grande 3 channel amps. Mind blowing, clean power, extremely powerful, rated one of the best amps of 06 by Home Theater Mag.

    CRANK

One of the dumbest and I mean just plain stupid movies of this decade. The acting, the plot, the video quality and the sound all in a word sucked. Run don't walk to your trash can or Netflix and dump this stinker.
  20. Geez, you got me all wrong....I just meant that the Earthquake Cinenova Amp is so much better than the Bryston Amps. Sorry I didn't clarify that for you. Cheers!
  21. $2,295 for the 5 channel Earthquake Cinenova Grande!
  22. Run don't walk and get a high powered Earthquake Cinenvoa Grande amp, recently rated the best amp for HT last year. I have them run my Dean's upgraded RF-7's with a JL Audio Fathom and it clearly rocks. It nearly brings tears to my eyes, it's so powerful, clean, fast, and crystal clear. i hear everything and I feel it as well. Check them out, you owe it to yourselves. When I hear toys like Rotel, Denon, Bryston, Yamaha, have to chuckle. C'mon guys, who is kidding whom?
  23. Bill, Expensive, not so much....if you are interested in either the Earthquake or the new JL Audio Fathom subs', private message me and I will get you some prices that would surprise you. I have never heard let alone felt a more powerful sub than the JL Audio Fathoms! As my daughter would say, awesome!!!!!!!
  24. Why play around with toys from Rotel or Denon?? Check out the Earthquake amps recently rated as the one of the best amps for home theater in HT mag last Sept. I currently use the Earthquake Cinenova Grande 7 with my RF-7's coupled with a JL Audio Fathom subwoofer. There is nothing and I mean nothing like the experience of this combination. I have already lost a mounted cabinet in my listening room. Wife is ready to move and neighbors hate me. This is good stuff! Check it out!!
  25. Best combo you can get for the money....an Earthquake Cinenova Amp, recently rated the best over $3K amp in Home Theater Mag last year PLUS an Outlaw 990 processor. I have this running currenty in my HT and it provides accurate imaging, crystal clear sound and really makes the Klipsch speakers come to life. Good luck!
