  1. Let me address some of the current questions but let me start with my observance of DWILawyer bringing the Bourbon to the dry county[] Seems very poetic with his Avatar[] TKD, I'm told the walls are not paper thin and maybe room 2 can just be a little decompression chamber if you will[] According to the ladies at the Bank the farmhouse alreay has all the gear for a fish fry and she said Trey's dad probably knows this already since he is local but I wanted Trey to read this for his info just in case. I think the fish fry is a great plan, I think all the fish you can eat and a room for jamming at less than $12.00 a head is a killer deal[] With the current state of drinking in that county we should either have designated drivers or a driver who can shuttle loads from ranch to Hotel if they don't pass out on the couch! Your bonus if you do that is to have me wake you Saturday morning for the cleanup before I turn our key back in[] I will give more update as I gather any more info and may even include some pics here in the near future as I am going to go Hope within the month and look at the Ranch house and probably take some digital shots of the greatroom so we all have a idea before we get there. Anyone bringing gear please remember power strips and proper cabling as I remembered my phono stage last time but forget my balanced adapters! Looking forward to what is sure to be a very fun event[]
  2. Actually Paula was out today and her backup signed us up and gave me the info she knew, said I could call Paula back Monday with other questions so bring them at me and I'll pose them to her on Monday[]
  3. THX Trey, I have just reserved the farmhouse for the night of the 16th[] It has a great room for meetings that is 20 X 30 +, they say it will hold 150 people, then there is a 16 X 20 Den for a second setup and we have a full working kitchen she said if we wanted to have catering. It's fully furnished and she said since I was with Klipsch I could pay once we arrived, obviously PWK name garners respect to this day and once again that is why Klipsch is the speaker[]
  4. Amy has 37 signed up and that is less than $2.00 a head for what I gather will be three rooms we can set different systems in maybe? Trey[] Seti, if we can get a commitment from attendees to anti up when they arrive we could probably make the reservation soon! What's everybodies thought on this?
  5. I used to drive JBL 4311B Control Room Monitors with starpped 2200's and 6db headroom is equivalent to an additional 200Watts on this plain looking 100 Watt amp but never let a plain face fool ya because these amps rock[] If you ever want to buy 300Watts used for the price 30Watts new this is your amp[]
  6. DocWho, If not at the mixer I promise Roy will fire them up in the demo room like he did last year and if are not satified with the bass I'll be very surprised as they ROCK[] Woo, if I can get my funds together I'll be having Bob send me all the parts so I can put the guts back into my LaScalla's and then I'll be bringing them[] You sure need to come through Little Rock and stop over at Seti's place because he is running Belle's with those 8 Watt Canary SET amps and they do sing[]
  7. Woo, glad you are going to make it[] You packing the Corns down again or going light this time? I'm game for the mixer and if Seti and I can bring anything let us know and we will try[]
  8. Assuming these 14 votes are from Amy's current list of 38 attendees! I'm with Kriton on the breakfast nook as a soundroom, what about the ranch that is on property and spoken of last year?
  9. Max, if you can make it into Little Rock either on Thursday night (you can stay with one of us) or early Friday morning Seti and I will have a place for you to ride with us[] The drive is less than 2 hours for us and we are going to leave when the Rooster crows Friday morning for Hope.
  10. Amy, please add me to your list of attendees for the Jun. 3rd '06 Hope Pilgrimage! Seti gets lost without me[] Muchos Gracias
  11. Dang Max, it's a no wonder your vinyl sounds so good[] I have asperations of moving into the 5G table and arm arena but alas funds are going to be slow going on this one[] My current table, arm (Circa 1988) and cartridge are OK and are very tolerable through my VK-P5 but nothing along the lines of your rig[] Duby2000, my good buddy Seti is running a MMF 2.1, Grado Platinum cartridge through his NAD PP2 and I think it sounds pretty good for a $750.00 layout! Max, how do you like the Tango? The Final Tool is one on my shortlist[] Dino the Tricerytops signing off[]
  12. Thanks HDBRbuilder, I'm only going off my recollection of selling that setup back in my AF days in Germany. I sold gear at the local AFFEES on my base and I'll never forget how sweet the 16/11 combo was driving a pair of 300 Summits, I had never heard the War Galaxy album sound so good! I'll keep your info on the 16 in my memory bank in case I do really come across one[]
  13. Who, is this like eating crow after the hard time you gave Max and all we vinylholics[] I understand they are not for you but even your friend likes vinyl, regarless of her player I have much respect for her just playing the stuff[] Anything or should I concentrate on genre whilst I look around?
  14. Filter this filter that, analog in analog out requires no filter to sound like it is[] As MAX says, put the right cash $10,000 into your analog rig and get real music or go by a $300 CD player and call it a day[] For the 1% of JacksonBarts Rice Krispy's guys I'll take 99% of the real deal any day. The real reason you need a sub or digital is your all getting older and it's a known fact that the ears go and all most old guys hear is the thump or lack of shrill from digtal and this is the camp I'm from[] I have been here before and yes I have a pleathora of digital devices that I always get listener fatigue from and that is because digital will always have edge regardless of what format it's in the digital process plain and simple[:|] OK digi heads let's light this baby up[<)] Come Duke you still have a 707 and 909! I was just thinking to myself last night while sitting in my shop listening to MC900ft Jesus on my Onkyo cassette running thru my old SAE rec and thinking how much better that cassette always sounded in my car before I went digital there also and I may just put that hissing monster back in my Golf[8] Catch this one on the flip side!
  15. Fini, you figured Jackson out[] You & your Moose sure are getting some good mileage out of that camel[]
  16. I'm expecting Craig or BEC to chime in soon on that question[]
  17. Yo Speedball, I say go with the X-Over rebuild or maybe even a good used tube pre out on A-goN before doubling up on any more power. As you can see I prefer tube pre's and SS pow[] Little more here gets you a phono section: http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?preatube&1142710088 Stop/Go what am I driving now here: http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?preatube&1142580340 Great Seller here and you get a nice tuner: http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?preatube&1142526844 I'm just partial to this baby[] http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?preatube&1142459803 I've never thought you could go wrong with CJ products! http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?preatube&1142314473 Should mate well with your amp: http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?preatube&1142050490 Another nice Hybrid: http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?preatube&1141595377 This one has gotten some killer press! http://cgi.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cl.pl?preatube&1140902343 Just some ideas for going tube pre-amp on your Sono[] Good luck!
  18. MEAGAIN, I saw more dance clubs in the 70's & 80's driving LaScalla's to the point I had thought Klipsch cornered the dance club market if that tells you anything. Power, room and placement will get you more bass then you will ever need in a 2-channel setup[]
  19. Hats off to Ziggy and that big new backet of peppers he got as his reward! Look out rover, daddy's got a new best fried[]
  20. You go into! Both the HK Twinns are sweet[] Not to dent your tube ferver Duke but I would love to get my hands on a HK Citation 16 and 11 pre[] What a deal on that Pioneer RT 707! Why can't I find my HK's in some remote corner of the local Pawndomat[:|]
  21. Ditto Ben, well put! What goes around comes around Jordan, good luck and tomorrow always brings another chance[]
  22. I'm in 100% compliance that these babies need bolted down for shipment! I also think they will look great in chrome with some nice gloss black trannie paint[] Hello Todd, the Indo Scally cabs are going to be my summer project this year, maybe Ian and I will be coming on line with both of them restored at the same time[] What a sweet pick up by SETI, he will have the best of both worlds when he finishes these babies a he now has a pair of the sweetest 8 Watt Sets I've ever heard and being built on Western Electric spec they are some of the finest craftmanship I have ever seen and I'm running 3 pieces of BAT gear mind you! I probably going to pick up a used BAT VK-60 to drive the Scally's unless something else catches my fancy. That Allen is very close to what I saw at your house the other evening[]
  23. Hello Dee, I sent this A-goN link to SETI the other day. I'm sure they don't sound as good as the ones you brought to Hope but I did dig the red trannie paint! Fini, big jump from Sharon Stone to Alyssa[]
  24. Hello Ray I'm glad to see you knew I was not coming at you with any malice just always love ribbing folks dead set on any format! I do love my vinyl but as you can see I have a very good digital rig and I'm always trying to get the best out of it also. This is a great hobby and I would never belittle anyones system or personal choice as the main thing is you listen to what you like on what you like. Are your VMPS models the ones with a bazillion drivers running up and down the face of the speaker? Did those also incorporate Ribbons? I'm purely going by visual memory here so I may be off in left field somewhere! I'm sure as I he was apoplectic to you especially if you said you liked those CD's with such conviction as apposed to some old vinyl that just sounded tee-rific which sounds more sophmorish! Like you I stand behind my belief and ears that vinyl well recorded, good plastic material cut on a good lathe and on reasonable playback gear sounds far superior to the hard edge of digital but alas each to his own and that is what makes this a great Country. I hope I have not offended you or anyone for that matter[]
