  1. Justin Payment sent today. If Saturday, 09/01, is convenient for you, I will be picking up my first HT center channel speaker. Judging from the pictures you posted I expect this Cornwall speaker will have excellent audio qualities and will complement my Cornwall IIs! Thank you. Enrique
  2. Shepjk01 I have been searching for a center channel for my cherry veneer Cornwall IIIs. I have sent you a PM.
  3. You found a great deal. I paid $600 for a new Denon 2910 on 08/31/05.
  4. The Kenwood car stereo system was a great system in 1985. All the above gear was in Chevy conversion van for 3 years. I loved the system so much I couldn't part with it when I traded the van in on a new 1988 Daytona. The Chrysler dealer agreed in writing to pull out all the stereo gear from the Chevy van without even looking in the van. He was surprised to find so much gear had to pulled out of the van when I drove it into the service bay. [] I had all the car stereo gear custom installed into the Daytona - including the 15" subwoofer. It was hard to tell which made the Daytona vibrate more - the speakers or the engine. In 1993 all this gear was still functioning perfectly when I pulled all the equipment out of Daytona before I sold it. I intended on installing this car stereo in another car, but for next 13 years the stereo equipment just sat in boxes in my study. Now I plan on selling all this equipment on Ebay. This will be the first time I have sold anything on EBay. I need to find out what process must be followed to place a listing. But first, I would like to find out what the value of all this equipment is. Will it be easier and/or more profitable to sell each piece separately? I am hoping I will get suggestions from this forum for sale prices that would guide me in setting a reasonable expectation for fair market value for this equipment. Any price determined from the wealth of knowledge the Klipsch forum members possess should be more accurate than a wild guess I could make. Meanwhile I'll keep searching EBay and googling for equipment prices. I hope that I will be able to earn enough after selling all this gear along with a Vector Research VRX-8000 receiver and a VQ-100 equalizer to make a good down payment on a Heresy III for my home stereo center channel speaker. I trust Dr Who's recommendation that the Heresy III would be a good match for Cornwall III main speakers. Back to googling and searching EBay ........
  5. I found a website that is still selling this speaker for $109.90. http://www.3lsound.com/spkrprcs2003.htm#cervga Since the speaker I am selling sat in storage for the last 13 years and is in good condition, would a fair EBay reserve price be $40??
  6. I will be attempting to sell an old Cerwin Vega LE-15D Subwoofer on Ebay. Anyone have recommendations on what would be a fair reserve price? I purchased this speaker as part of $1500+ upgrade of a stereo system in a van in 1985. Speaker is in excellent condition and has been in storage since 1993. I also plan on selling the following car stereo components: 1 Kenwood KRC-999 Receiver with manual 1 Kenwood KGC-4400 5-band Equalizer, SubWoofer Volume and Front/Rear Volume Controller 3 Kenwood KAC-7020 Amps 70 watts per channel 1 Kenwood KAC-8200 Amp (http://cgi.ebay.com/Kenwood-KAC-8200_W0QQitemZ9745096983QQihZ008QQcategoryZ39734QQcmdZViewItem) 2 Kenwood KAC-5020 Amps 50 watts per channel 2 Kenwood KFC 6977 6x9 speakers 100 watts 2 Kenwood KFC 6988 6x9 speakers 150 watts
  7. I am planning on selling an old Vector Research VRX-8000 receiver and the matching Vector Research VQ-100 equalizer on EBay. Anyone have suggestions for a fair reserve price???
  8. My memories of the first time are not that old. I was at Ovation Audio in Cincinnati Ohio on 09/30/2005. I posted my experience here on this forum and on the audioholics forum: http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/thread/654212.aspx From audioholics forum: "Yesterday I made an 80 mile round trip to hear Paradigm S4 and Paradigm Studio 100 speakers with my collection of SACDs in hand. I would have gone to my local Paradigm dealer if he had Studio 100s in stock. I first went to the showroom with Paradigm S4s. I listened to Eric Clapton's "Key To The Highway" off the "Layla" CD and several tracks from Buddy Guy's "DJ Play My Blues" CD. I was disappointed when I noticed that the S4s seemed to muffle the high frequencies in comparison to the Mackie SRM450s. I noticed the same muffled high frequency when I played the same tracks on another system in another showroom with Studio 100s. These speakers did not produce the sound I was accustomed to hearing on stages or in the audience of live performances where admittedly all music was amplified via high wattage PA amps with horn drivers. When I expressed my opinion to the dealer he told me that most home-audio speakers would not be able to approach the same sound of live performances unless they were also equipped with horn drivers. He then allowed me to listen to the same CD tracks on another system with Klipsch Reference RF7s. I was floored by how much Klipsch RF7 speakers sounded like my Mackie SRM450s at home. Then I was surprised to find that they are 33% less than the cost of S4s. Now I am considering Klipsch Heresy II from their Heritage line or the Klipsch RF7s for my front speakers to be driven by the Anthem P2. I have read many posts on audiophile forums that have claimed that Klipsch horn speakers, especially the lines below the Reference line (e.g. Synergy), are too bright. I would be curious to see the results of a survey among pro/amateur rock musicians where they were posed the question "Do horn speakers like the Klipsch RF7 produce a sound that is too bright for home audio?" Now I need to find a dealer who has Klipsch Heresy II in stock for a demo. I think I have found my "dream" home-audio front speakers in one of these Klipsch speaker models." On March 29, 2006, (nine days after my B-day), I carried my first Klipsch speakers into my home, Cornwall IIIs.
  9. From one proud owner of Cornwall IIIs to another: Congratulations on your purchase! Please post some pictures when you get the time. Welcome to the Klipsch forum.
  10. My last CD purchase was the 2 CD Deluxe Edition of Eric Clapton's "461 Ocean Boulevard". My Cornwalls resurrect the sound of the "Live" CD.
  11. I sent my contribution. Thanks Dean for arranging this. Its support efforts like this that convinces me this is a great forum!
  12. Craig Sorry to hear of your loss. My prayers and condolencies are with you and your family.
  13. The two 15 foot Mogami XLR cables worked! I was surprised to find I will not be able to use my 6 new Raymond XLR interconnect cables! Since the 3 foot long Raymond cables were new I suspect that the length of the XLR cable might have had an influence on this hum. I will try to experiment with the four other Raymond XLR cables to verify I had not selected the two bad Raymond cables from the set of 6.
  14. I tried running the power for the Anthem P2 amp through a spare outlet on the Monster Power conditioner and was not successful in eliminating the hum. I found some 15 foot Mogami XLR cables I will try next instead of the far more expensive Raymond XLR interconnect cables. If that doesn't work, I will try a spare dual channel EBTech Hum Eliminator with 1/4" TRS jacks I found. I will have to run two sets of interconnect cables to it with a1/4 " connector on one end and male/female XLR connector on other end.
  15. The Anthem P2 amp is connected via 3 foot XLR interconnect Raymond cables to almost new Anthem AVM 30 preprocessor. When the amp is running alone the hum does not even register on the Radio SPL meter. When I power up the AVM 30 after powering up the amp with no audio signal coming from the AVM30 (e.g. CD, DVD, radio, VCR, tape or TV is not sending any signal) I hear a 57db hum. Does anyone have any suggestions on reducing the 57db hum from my new Anthem P2 amp? Do I need to separate the amp futher from the AVM30? The most convenient place for the amp is currently on the subwoofer and I have read somewhere on this forum that the configuration I currently use for my Cornwalls and dual subwoofers is optimal when the Cornwalls are placed as closer to the corners of the room than the subwoofers to boost the bass frequencies from the Cornwalls. Will I have to sacrifice optimal placement of my Cornwalls and subwoofer to eliminate this hum? Replace XLR cables? Will the hum be eliminated if I run power to the P2 amp via the Monster Power conditioner instead of a separate outlet (the P2 amp uses a two prong power connector)?
  16. Trey So a veneer is not used, just a Laquer? What type of wood was used for the cabinet?
  17. I have had no problems with my Harmony 676 remote. Setup was a breeze. The Logitech website has a database that apparently has a very good selection of the programming codes requred to control home theater equipment. I was surprised that I did not have to program the remote to control my old Misubishi S-VHS player. I just entered the brand and model number in the list of devices to be controlled and the Windows Harmony Remote software downloaded all the appropriate codes and set up the "one-touch" hot keys for my most commonly used functions. The remote software would even download the information to provide a "TV-Guide" on the remote's screen of the DirecTV programming listings if I was willing to resync over the internet once a week.
  18. From the back of the port shelf to the front face I measured 7 inches. The board from which the horns and woofer are mounted has a thickness of .75 inches. From the back wall to the front face of the Cornwall III speaker I measured 14.25 inches. Extending from the front face, the speaker sides provide a .25 inch lip that enclose the grill. The top of the speaker cabinet measures 15.5 inches by 25.25 inches. The height of the speaker cabinet measures 38 inches.
