  1. No RR here JB but I'll join you and have 3 fingers of Makers Mark in honor of the buckster. OB would probably be trying to sneak a "Beam and Ginger" while Mrs. buckster was away.
  2. " I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the american people ever allow the banks to control the issue of currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered." Thomas Jefferson 1802
  3. Glad you came back Mark after leaving us with that previous teaser[] Please continue...... I value your imput.
  4. Yet the stock share price of gun manufacturers like Sturm Ruger and Smith & Wesson have'nt participated in the run on guns. What I now question is the age old rule of diversification and buy and hold. All sectors have been beaten up this time and one account I own is now worth less than when I invested the money in 1992. 16 years.....yikes! The only profits are being made by the short sellers. I remember our old buddy mas saying something to the effect that if you are only long stocks you might not have any business in the market.
  5. Of the two you mentioned Quicksilver Audio would get my vote. The build, reliability, and customer support are top notch. If 25 watts are adequate either the mini mites, or horn monos will fill the bill while the mid monos put out 50 watts. If you call QS more times than not Mike Sanders will answer the phone and chat as long as you like. All three are a tube rollers dream allowing you to use EL-34s, KT-66s, KT-77s, 6L6, 6550s, KT-88s, or KT-90s. If new is too pricey check out audiogon.com and browse power tube amps for some used deals. The early Jolida products suffered some quality control issues I am told but their newer offerings including the popular Jolida 100 cdp are built like tanks with great fit and finish. Are you sure it was the Primaluna that was too revealing?
  6. Chuckle...chuckle....thats a good one wuzzzer[]
  7. In 17 more days of returns like todays loss the stocks that make up the Dow will be at zero (assuming no up days)! Completely worthless. Sorry to be the bearer of this news but we have dropped from a high of a little over 14,000 to 7500. The gurus on CNBC say we have'nt seen the bottom yet. Retirement portfolios have been decimated especially painful to the baby boomers nearing retirement. Any sage advice out there?
  8. And wait to see your new haircut[:S]
  9. And my decorator was a bit feminine but we love the looks of the place......
  10. I resemble that remark but thanks for noticing[:^)]
  11. It was nice of you to model the Classic Hobbit T-Shirt Amy[]
  12. But they were 15-20 years old[:S] Welcome to the forum jerryd!
  13. I am sure others will say it as well but if you stay here long enough you will probably get around to some sort of klipsch speakers. My speakers use a LS type bass bin with Altec horns and drivers and Beyma tweeters. You are in good company here with or without Klipsch....we all like gear and music and talking with others about it. Where is home?
  14. Welcome to the forum Endangered. I like the 60ish tube amps as well. I have new Quicksilver tube gear as well as a vintage HK reciever and they sound different but both are keepers. I have LS hybrids and 25 watts is ample.
  15. Very handsome speakers and your customer should write for an audio magazine.....what a review!
  16. Whew is right......that is a hard pill to swallow. We are all pulling for you buckster. Good suggestions Michael....
  17. [Y] To the two of you and thank you for your service and contribution Tommyboy. Well done.
  18. Thank you to all who have served and a special thanks to my buddy oldbuckster. I hope this veterans day finds you making the turn to good health. Thanks Peter Barnett -1st Gulf War Thanks Phil Keller -Viet Nam and Robert F. Ward (Bob) -Viet Nam. I miss you guys.
  19. Circuit City files for bankruptcy protection today! Maybe they can get a bailout along with the banks, auto makers, insurance giants, credit card issuers, over extended homeowners......did I miss anyone?
  20. Thanks for the update Giovanni. Let us know what equipment you choose and send pictures if you can. A tubed integrated sounds like a good choice[Y]
  21. Welcome to the forum Gio. Which ones on your list have you listened to? Is there a place near you to audition some of the ones listed with RF-35s? If there is a dealer near you see if they will let you take one home to listen to with your speakers in your music room. Take along some music you are familiar with.
  22. Thanks Harry....I was reluctant to ask knowing that if OB was quiet for this long the news probably would not be good. Get well buckster.....we miss you here. Let us know if we can help in any way.
  23. Haven't been here for awhile and was wondering if there is any news on the buckster?
  24. Welcome to the forum Hoang. You could try hifiengine.com/ for your manual. They have over 2500 manuals available. Chuck
  25. Not as good as getting them out from the walls and toed in. I lived with my LS hybrids tight in the corners for two years and never realized how much I had compromised the sound quality. I figured that the corners would enhance the bass but I was wrong. While my present set up is not as visually satisfying the sound is much better. I put a towel under each speaker and slide them around the room trying different placements. Speaker placement makes more difference than any other tweak I have tried. If bluesboy is on line maybe he can shoot you some pics of my former set up.
