  1. We bought a Squeezebox (wireless) about a month or so ago. Not happy with the sound quality of internet radio which is a shame because they have some amazing channels and I found myself writing down tons of new music I've not heard before to buy. Such a great way to get introduced to new stuff. Loaded about 20 albums on it which works nicely. It was basically bought for the bedroom with the idea of waiting for HD DVR capability in media center pc's (or a similar setup) for the main system. What I'd like it to do first is be able to have the menu screen system on the TV nice & big. Till it's relagated elsewhere, I want to be puttering around the house and easily see what internet radio song I'm hearing without having to walk up to the Squeezebox. We just started playing with options when we got our Khorns and stepped away from the project. I'd also like to boost the quality of the internet radio, but I'm told you really can't since you can't improve the original signal/broadcast oomph?
  2. 1. just registered today. 2. reserves right to sell via another method (so hurry and buy cuz others might ****** it away from you). 3. Asks to email him regarding the sale (he wants to engage you in convo to get you to WIRE money). 4. Bids are private. ID's of bidders are hidden so they can't be contacted & informed. 5. View his other auctions. (This part is funny). 6. Willing to sell to you instantly.
  3. Polarizing filter & metal? Good to know. Gosh I so want to bid on that mc-250. It's the darned picture! Looks so minty. I sell on Ebay but rarely buy. I'm always dissapointed. It would be nice to buy from someone here like him.
  4. They're gorgeous! Maybe I'll go over there for a listen. For kicks of course. [] http://www.6moons.com/industryfeatures/forbidden/forbidden_5.html
  5. How do you think I feel? He's in my area. I'll never score anything with that kind of fierce competition. Tho' I'm up for the challenge.
  6. Seems Costco online doesn't have the set that's in the warehouses right now. I saw the set locally (3-seat black leather slightly curved unit with motorized recline, cubbies in arm-rests, etc) for $1800. We thought it was VERY nice for the money. Very comfy. If I had a dedicated HT planned, I'd have bought them but they just don't fit into my idea of 'main house decor'. They are haunting me though & wish I could have an excuse to get them.
  7. Jeff, If you are buying new, you might want to check J&R (jr.com). Out of all the reputable online places, they had the best price on my HK (plus free s/h). The item was packed very well and I received it in 2-3 days. (That panny above is $299 there but no free s/h right now). There are other good places like Vann's etc. but at the time, they didn't have the best prices. I was very happy with them. They'll have most all of the Harman, Denon, Yama offerings. A good place to surf at least. (BTW - I question some of the wpc ratings on some of these. I know Harman is said to have true or underestimated wpc and I'm sure Denon & Yama are also respectable. But I did read many posts when that Pioneer 1015? came out with people testing it and saying they overemphasised the wpc on it.)
  8. We didn't yet hook up the KG4's for surrounds. We used other speakers I found at an estate sale. They were great for football games, but not concert DVDs, etc. Enough power from the receiver, but the quality of the speakers was so off from the khorns that I couldn't deal with it. We're hooking up the KG4's tomorrow for a quick try. I'm interested in finding Chorus II's and maybe Fortes? Forte's cuz they are petite/tall (if I remember correctly). And I wonder how those KLF-30's or something similar would fare. I'm new to all this obviously, but I think the center is very important. I think moreso than the rears. At least for me - that's the case. Why don't you try it with your khorns & corns? Oh, you need an amp first huh?
  9. Well, we set up 5:1 and it was very cool, but need to ramp up the quality of the surrounds. Will likely hook up the kg4s for the football game tomorrow. I'm looking for more speakers to go with the khorns. We have a Rogers BBC (little tiny thing) we used as a center. I don't really understand the center thing and how people are able to listen to music with 3 speakers. You would use your cornwalls and what else? What for a center?
  10. Does that mean we can't feed him to ravenous Jackals either? Darn!
  11. What's sad is that the guy didn't use a direct link to your web page. Then you could have replaced it with a picture of monkeys picking their nose or something far worse & interesting. []
  12. Joshnich - My goodness! I'd sure love to know your secrets for taking great pics. And I'd soooo love to buy that 2105 but I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to afford it. [:@]
  13. I've been reporting the khorn guy daily. He lists about 6+ times a day. It's all I do. BTW - Powersellers who report, get priority with these reports/issues.
  14. As a poweseller, I despise these scammers. But it REALLY pisses me off when they mess with Klipsch. Now - I gotta say this cuz it bothers me.... fake bidding on these things just encourages them to do it again. They are trying to score a quick sale, take the money & run. Bidding on their auctions only makes them think it will work either now or in the future. The $1200 khorn scammer with the yellow text at the top & s/h of $40 - with 6+ pages of scam will only keep gang-relisting because he sees bids. Out of 6 pages and say 4 auctions with bids - his chances go up that he can score. Bidding only encourages him to keep at it again & again. He's got a bid on those khorns right now. I further think it slows down Ebay's system as they have to auto-send emails to the bidders, cancell the bids, etc. as opposed to just plain nuking the auctions. I beyond respectfully dissagree with this fake bidding concept. Bad idea IMO.
  15. khorns need a sub? This is unfathomable to me as a khorn owner & bass freek.
  16. Al - Did you submit the complaint via the proper method? And give them the link to your pic on the website?
  17. Yea - the Oppo. Was considering that one. He just explained to me the issue with the hd dvd format war. Darn. Sounds sort of like a Beta vs. VHS deal. I'll look into that Denon! Taking other suggestions also.
  18. We were just talking about this. I like the concept and we can do this with our HK AVR. Cool! Whatcha going to buy Jeff?
  19. Yes, the mix seems to get better as the album goes on (to me). I don't mind his singing in my face cuz (to me) that's what it's all about - his beautiful (IMO) voice. I'm gleaning that new x-overs or new caps would chill out any harshness and I've yet to experience that. But we got the Behringer DEQ2496 to help with room issues which I suppose we'll always have no matter where the khorns end up. I'll have to see if those cd players also do DVD. I'm clueless about all that and what the difference is between a dedicated cd player vs. one that also does dvd's. It would be nice to get away with one unit that does both very well. I know the new HD DVDs are coming out now so that's another research project. All I know is hubby hooked up his computer, etc. to grab the music more cleanly and in comparison to the Toshiba CD/DVD, we heard no difference. The learning curve for a newbie like me is overwhelming. One of you guys should write a book on it.
  20. 1. Why so concerned about them getting the best price for these? Isn't that their worry? 2. Are you fully considering how often you might run across local klipshorns in your particular Montana area? 3. Have you ever listened to properly setup khorns? I'm gleaning not? 4. Are you going to show us the pictures? []
  21. I didn't think it would be a cure-all either. Not sure 'anything' would be. But it offers a DRAMATIC difference and that difference is up to you. I like that control. We're not done playing with it by any means - in fact, we took a break from it for nearly a week, and hope to get back to it this weekend. Right now, we're getting more detail in the highs with it. I don't have Sibilance issues on anything but this album and that's mostly in the beginning of it. The Behringer worked to lessen it. Right now, I'm thinking of springing for new x-overs. It'll just take me a year to figure out what's best for me as if I spring for the 'big bucks' types - I'll need to do this right.
  22. Hi Mark. I tried to PM a response to you a few times when the board was down but gave up cuz it wouldn't work. Sakamoto seems to be with David on everything he does. Anyway - I wouldn't have pegged 'reverb' on anything with this album, but what do I know? So the S's and T's (especially in the first part of the album) were also in your face but not painful? Is that what you're saying? When I have it loud, if it hits a certain level to my ears - I wince for a second. If loud, it's not at wince level for you? I wonder how it would sound for you if played through a different amp? Curious how much the amp would affect such a thing. We've been playing around with this Behringer DEQ2496 and it seems to have chilled it out a bit, but I think I need new x-overs. I love the trumpet on this album. So pretty.
  23. Check this out. New khorn ad. 1-day auction. Alaska. All feedback is from his purchases not sales. http://cgi.ebay.com/Klipsch-Klipschorn-Khorn-corner-speakers-BIG-BASS_W0QQitemZ7001224697QQcategoryZ45111QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Same ad, photos, and SERIAL NUMBER as the auction that closed recently in Michigan for $5500. http://cgi.ebay.com/Klipsch-Klipschorn-Khorn-corner-speakers-BIG-BASS_W0QQitemZ5847596717QQcategoryZ61378QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Gosh - If you're going to be a theif, at least be semi-smart about it.
  24. I love the bass on mine. Then again, I never listened to khorns before I bought these so have nothing to compare it to. Maybe it could be better. IDK. Mark said a store around here has them on display in a small room so I need to go listen.
