  1. Duders, I might be wrong but I think that is what is on my Elemental Design sud woofer. They might call it something else. But thats what it looks like. Its on the outside, the finish. Its tougher than a boot and hard to clean but it does the trick.
  2. Carbon Summit, I also have a Yamaha 663 and I'm looking forward to your review on the UMC-1. I'm sure you'll be pleased. Emotiva has a good bunch of people who will work with you if you need them. Good luck.
  3. If ever in doubt...get both.
  4. If you buy a amp from Emo and its not working out I would first try there tech support and it still wasn't working out for you, you have 30 days to send it back. You really have nothing to loose but time. They are real good people to work with.
  5. I have a XPA 3 and its dead quiet. I've had luck so far. I have it plugged in to a different outlet away my other HT stuff.
  6. I'm sure they have plenty radioactive stuff laying around and I think they are having trouble getting rid of it. So if it is lost they will probably send them another.
  7. So many kind word. Thank you so much. I'm also Thankful for the good people here on this forum. Fini, leave the plate on your table overnight. In the morning take the plate of food to the far east away from your home and scrape it out on the ground. Maybe say alittle prayer. Thanks again guys.
  8. I layed my sister to rest 2 days ago after a short battle with cancer. I'm thankful for the time that she was on this earth. She was a good sister, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She left us to make a new camp with good shade to the west. Good cool spring near by. Today she'll eat with all of our family thats gone on before me. We will set a plate at my family's table for her and the other who's not here with us. I love and miss you sissy and I'll see you again. Have a good and safe Thanksgiving
  9. Locks keep honest people honest. If a thief wants something a locked door won't keep them out.
  10. Thats a heck of a good price on the 62's. If you have the room and the money I would get them. Do you have a center channel? Does your Onkyo have Pre-outs? If so , throw an amp in with the mix and you will have a good clean sounding system.
  11. I found the spec's on the RP-3's and although they looks pretty good I don't think they would hold a candle to your 5's. If you don't have a amp, you might consider one. Or a subwoofer but as in a seperate unit. That way you can place were it sounds the best. I'm sure someone else with alot more knowledge will chim in.
  12. If you have the money, Go for the XPA 5. That way you will never wonder "what if".
  13. My manual says my Yamaha RX V663 has a 192/24-bit D/A converter. Is that the decoder? Is it worth a crap?
  14. Some very good information here. Alot I didn't know. Thanks for taking the time and explaining thing to me. Again Thank You.
  15. So you think I'm OK with the Yamaha reciever? I'm wanting the sound of HDMI as well, I hear its the best, thats why I was wanting to run thru the reciever. More than likely, if I was to get a flat screen it would be a plasma. Guys , I'm grateful for the response. I'm new at this stuff and I get confused easy.
  16. I have 62's and a Yamaha and it sounds great. You might check out Newegg and look at the Yamaha RX V1900. Also Vanns has Marantz 6004 (I think) in there clearance or outlet for a "open box" and it has a full warranty for half the price. You can't go wrong with Marntz. Good luck.
