  1. Marvel, It will be interesting to see the date stamp on our two PMs to Thump on the Monarch. I was sending mine about the same time you sent yours.....
  2. I'd like the SA-10 if possible. I've PM'd you with my address and Ph#. How would you like your money, cash, check or money order? I've rebuilt a Scott 99A so this might be fun!
  3. So is there no AB-3 for the Belle?
  4. Well I guess I'll change my request to AB-3 then. Anyone have the Schematic for the AB-3 and a parts list? Will I be able to reuse any of the AB parts to make a AB-3? Thanks!
  5. Would it be possible to reuse some of the parts from a AB X-over in a Belle to make an AL-3 X-0ver? I have a pair og KBWO Kornerhorns with the AK-3 X-over and would like an AL-3 for the Belle. Just curious, anyone have a schematic and parts list for the AL-3?
  6. Thanks ScooterDog! The site was most helpful. I'm getting ready to install ac and a set of signal cables and needed to determine the distance. With a pair of Kornerhorns and a Belle centerit was necesary to get the proper proportion.
  7. Good evening Gents! I'm considering an IN FOCUS or similar projector and was wondering about distances from the lens to the screen. If I wanted a 100 inch image how far away would the projector have to be from the screen? I realize that distances may vary but can anyone give me a ballpark here?
  8. He used a La Scala because of timber matching across the front. The La Sacla uses the same midrange horn (K-400 or K-401) as the Klipschorns do. The Cornwalls use a different midrange horn and sound a bit different in the midrange. All of the units pictured use the K-55 midrange driver just a different horn.
  9. I have a Scott 222(A) that NOS Valves built about a year ago. I can't believe my ears! It is simply amazing what the amp can do! I have a Rat Shack LED watt meter on it and I rarely go beyone a couple of watts into my Khorns. The 222 really got me interested in the restoration process, so much so that I've purchased a Scott 99A and a 99C and rebuilt them. It's really an easy job, but one must be careful if you put your hand inside one of the amps. Anyway I rebuilt both the 99A & C using premium parts and they both sound great! I'm using the 99C as a center channel amp in the PWK 3 channel stereo array. I pull the center channel signal from the 222 derived center channel rca output on the back of the unit. You have to try this!
  10. Jon!, How's it going? I still have my Walnut Corns, but you can't have them!!! BTW the trip to the emergency room came in at $975.00 for xrays and 1 stitch!!!! You still living in the loft?
  11. I paid $2500.00 for a pair of Walnut Klipschorns and the matching Belle. All three were from 1977 and in new condition. Paid $750.00 for a pair of Walnut Cornwalls that are from 1976 also in great shape. Paid $200.00 for a pair of Walnut Herseys from 1978. Paid $350.00 for a brand new (in 93) Walnut Academy. But there is the pair of Walnut Forte IIs I paid $1100.00 for new in 93.
  12. I think that Fred Klipsch ought to buy these and put them in the Klipsch museum. I doubt that they could find a better specimen. I bet Fred is just too damn tight though. I really believe he couldn't care less about audio, he's just in it for the big bucks...
  13. I'm pretty sure that there was a crossover change from the 2000 year models and the 2005 model. I know there was in the Khorn so I'm fairly sure it was in the La Scala and Belle too.
  14. A couple of RCA Y connectors should do it. AT 30' you may have to play with the phasing a bit to get all of the units working together. If not you may have severe cancellation on your hands.
  15. The Chorus I & II, Forte I & II, Quartet and Academy are not of the Heritage series. A lot of folks call them the extended heritage line but that is a misnomer or wishful thinking.
  16. More forests now that in 1880s? There are a $hit load more people on this planet than there ever have been. Polution?, yes we $hit in our back yard since time began, but not on today's scale. Think of all the crap we dump everywhere, land, sea and air. A lot of the stuff won't biodegrade, it will be here for a long time, long enough for your kids and grandkids and their kids to deal with. Might be more woods in Vermont today than in the 1880s, but look at what is happening in South America, - stripping and burning the rain forests at a rate that can't be imagined, Oh that's OK, it not in the USA. The planet can only take so much, one day it will teach us all a lesson. I can remember a lot of songs dealing with how we have maltreated the planet, some I've mentioned below. But for the life of me I can't think of any praising how we have screw up the place. They paved Paradise and put up a parking lot. Big Yellow Taxi Joni Mitchell Where the air smelled like snakes, and we'd shot with our pistols, But empty pop bottles was all we would kill. Paradise John Prine Then the coal company came with the world's largest shovel And they tortured the timber and stripped all the land Well, they dug for their coal till the land was forsaken Then the wrote it all up as the progress of man. Paradise John Prine Soon will be gone all the desert Cities will cover each hill Today will just be a sad memory man walks among us be still be still man walks among us be still Man Walks Among Us Marty Robbins
  17. Joh!, You're back!, how are the Corns doing?
  18. The Scott 299D has a derived center output jack on the back. You should be able to run a single (mono) rca or subwoofer cable from the 299D center output to the subwoofer LFE input. Be sure toset your subwoofer level to its lowest setting power up the Scott and set it to a listening level you like. Then go to the sub and start increasing the LFE input until it reaches the level you want. I have a Scott 222 with the Derived Center and have it hooked up to my sub this way. It works great. One drawback though on the Scott design, there are steep filters that cut everything from 20 Hz down to a very low level. Scott did this back in the days of extreme turntable rumble. The 20 HZ filter kept the rumble out to avoid wasting amp power.
  19. Its "Somewhere over the Rainbox/What a Wonderful World" from his "Facing Future" album. It's played with a Uke.
  20. Goosebumps!!! A darkened room lit only by the soft glow of tubes... The Klipschorns softly playing Angus Dei (based on Barber's Adagio for Strings, The Robert Shaw Festival Singers - all vocal)a much more powerful rendetion of the Adagio but all vocal. A must for anyone who loves the Adagio for Strings!
  21. Do any of the Tube Guys have a schematic for the Calrad SA-30 tube amp? Its an early Japanese model. I've been able to rebuild a Scott 99C (My first attempt, and its working great as a center amp to my Scott 222) and a Scott 99A. Surprised the heck out of myself, they both fired up without a hitch! The 99A is now just sitting on the Belle lookin' good! The Calrad isn't as nice as the Scotts but I'd like to try and rebuild it and put it on Ebay. Thanks for your help!
  22. I know that but I'm wondering if grounding it would do any goor or harm.
