I agree; he best thing is to A~B whatever you have questions about. A friend owns a music store and went into partnership with someone to produce small PA speakers. Played them for me. They got real loud. So I brought him an HI to compare with. While his speaker seemed to sound OK when auditioned, it sounded like pure crap when A~B'ed with the HI. Currently, there is a Bose PA system that is all the rage with some local DJ's. These are the same folks who think mp3 files sound as good as vinyl. Nuff said.

Aha, didn't understand the problem. I just rack the dedicated equipment for each system. Never tried to make a rack for use with multiple systems, because I may need to use them simultaneously.

Who has actually DONE this mod? What were the results?

I am extremely comfortable with subs, as they are seamlessly integrated into the systems I use. That said.... This porting idea may be a darn good idea, if it gives the claimed results. I look forward to learning more about it and seeing/hearing the results. I have 4 LSI's that may benefit from such a mod. I really like the illustrations; they make the idea come to life.

Ya gots me confused. The DriveRack outputs go to amps, not speakers. Unless you have some really efficient speakers. lol

Add me to the group that suggests adding a sub. K.I.S.S. usually is the best approach.

What makes them unreliable?

I love this analogy. Perfect..... I spent a ton of money modifying speakers, in the early seventies. Different horn, drivers, woofers, etc. Then Klipsch came along with their Industrial Series. Since then I have not tried to "improve," my equipment. Rather, I now buy what works, right out of the box. I'm just not smart enought to improve products that are designed, manufactured and marketed by major corporations. A man's got to know his limitations.

Credibility is so cheap; just pump up your profile and impress the masses.
