  1. are you sure? I can't talk that long to someone that I already know I like.
  2. my sentiments exactly ... i've seen Roger twice in concert and thankfully, he didn't speak other than to introduce a song. He did have the flying pig with political messages written on it. I think there are Roger Floyd fans and Gilmour Floyd fans ... while i like them both, i think Roger has the greater talent. When i saw Roger, he had a great guitar player named Snowy White with him. I caused a real furor on this forum when i said that Snowy can play the guitar as good as David Gilmour. I'm not at all slamming Gilmour; but, I still think that true today.
  3. Smart girl, a public place is safer, you never know these days, for all she knows you could be one of those weirdo's who hangs out online all the time on those mostly men's sites where the obsess over hobbies and women all day. Wait that didn't come out right wisely, i doubt that Chuck mentions even knowing us.
  4. oh they get them alright -- in fact, Alaska can claim 9 of the top 10 US quakes. Sounds like you're okay Dave and i'm happy for you. We haven't had a decent-sized one here in SoCal for many a years.
  5. cousin lives in pollock pines --- had to evacuate as fire was 1/2 mile from her house.
  6. i'd just buy a new car; but, i generally look for the easiest thing to do.
  7. Sure enough. September 22, and what do I smell outside tonight? You guessed it. you’re still smelling the Raider game from yesterday.
  8. way to go buddy … Happy Birthday.
  9. Forum members … I can attest that Rick is a stand up guy!
  10. Well Amy … i would like this join this crowd (scary, huh?) in wishing you a Happy Birthday. No telling when you’ll see this as you’re probably on your way to England in the corporate jet to eat birthday cake with the Queen. Steve
  11. i work in one and have lived close to three of the top six on that list. none of them would have cracked my top 100. Not sure why Oakland didn’t make it … high crime and houses there. The local economy must be good because the locals keep taking all the money of the visitors that are wandering around. Good for the environment too--keep the lights low at night (so people don’t have to see what is really out there).
  12. don’t eat much meat anymore; but, when i have, hamburgers were the only thing that i wanted well-done. i used to have my steaks very rare.
  13. i’m impressed and found that enjoyable. Will listen again. Thanks for posting this. Equally impressed by the concept itself--i like it when someone has an idea and makes it happen.
  14. sometimes a good table at a bar is hard to get … so i always keep a picture of my house in my wallet. chuck, were you dressed like a construction worker? Congratulations though, you must have made a good first impression. I’m usually not so lucky, so i always tell the ladies that the second first impression is the one that really counts.
  15. You're like a Geisha--with a beard. I hear in addition to giving great massages, they are experts in the art of conversation.
  16. Synergy is a very good bang for the buck. in fact, in a closet, i have F3, S3, C3, and KSW-12 bought many years ago. I Don't use them, Cornwalls and H1s in the living room--H2s in the closet with the synergy set. All sound great; but, probably will never use them again--i'd sell them if i wasn't so lazy.
  17. so what happens to speakers that fail inspection? Tear them apart and try again?
  18. Just what do you mean by the RF people? "Rich Folks?"
  19. Thebes i was sure you were going to suggest touching two live wires during the ceremony.
  20. several Canadian forum members ... perhaps you can coordinate with one of them to purchase and ship the cloth. I didn't think Canada was still mad at me--it was a joke!
  21. While we certainly sit amazed at your audio IQ and respect your opinion on myriad topics; perhaps your co-workers view you differently. "Go ask Michael, then do the opposite." At this point, I'd mess with their head and convince them that the sound from a clock radio is just as good--draw curves on a piece of paper and toss out a bunch a numbers...because you & I know that 86.7% of statistics are made up on the spot.
  22. whilst i have eaten a burger or 90 in my day, these days I'm mostly vegetarian...really don't miss meat at all either.
  23. what about doing that video call...skype thing...not sure how it works; but, have heard of it. Or there is something called facetime, i saw people on a phone call but the speaker could see the listener and vice versa....cheaper than a trip.....then if you like...you make the trip. that way you don't have to be fooled by photoshopped pictures. video call should work for everyone except lip sync experts. but dude, i'm getting worried...you wrote recently about a British lady, now you're looking in Ohio? I'm a huge fan of the Brits. The British gal that i had the pleasure of meeting surely couldn't be beat.
  24. Glad to hear that Carl -- hopefully, they get their transportation out of there soon.
  25. Back in ’85 i was in Hurricane Gloria. In the Coast Guard and was doing some time in Yorktown. I was disappointed because i slept through it…my first and only hurricane. I was taking a cruise a few years ago and we encountered a cyclone…can’t recall if it was Force 9 or Force 10 on the Beaufort Scale--the winds were actually 70+mph; however, the waves were only 7.5 meters (22’ - 23’) (I prefer rougher seas).
