i knew i should have checked with you first. but, honestly, your idea doesn't sound that bad. except i only own a fork and the stove is electric, so i'd have to lay the peach and apple directly on those heating elements. getting that stuff from the store was the first time I've eaten "a home cooked meal" in a very long time. steve

They will break beacuse they are only machines. Whether or not they break more often than a Windows computer will partly depend on which brand you choose.At the college where I work, we have had a higher percentage of Apple products fail (hardware) compared to our Dell branded hardware. We have moved most of our servers to Sun hardware. Support has been great and the pricing has been comparable to the Dell products. We have a fair number of Lenovo PCs, and they have done very well, and support on them has also been good. My boos just returned from a meeting at a local school (private, lower grades through high school), and they purchased 700 new iPads for their students (part of their tuition). It has been a mixed bag, since the students cover a range of ages. Bruce Hi Picky, nice to read from you again. Bruce is a much better authority than i on all things computer; but, if macgyver can fix a mac using duct tape, and a toothpick--i'm sure you can too. go ahead an buy one. I've had two and no problems with either...well, one problem with my first one--it was stolen when my house was burglarized; but, i don't blame apple for that. steve

oh, i don't doubt that; but, not everyone will lie, cheat, steal, disregard common sense in order to advance their cause. There have been times when i really wanted something to be true; but, the facts just painted a different picture--eventually i had to accept it. there is nothing wrong with an agenda; but, there is when that agenda becomes more important to a person than anything else. i hear it often and i really don't like the phrase that "questioning our government is patriotic." If that's what makes one patriotic, then we have a whole bunch of patriots that rarely leave their computers or tv sets. we have a right to question, and i'm cool with that--i just don't think that makes us patriotic. when we're attacked and we put our philosophical differences aside and come alongside our fellow countrymen and lend support to those in need--that's patriotic. When i know our armed forces men & women are being killed while supporting our country, and then look at a group of people yelling and holding signs saying "No War for Oil" the word patriot sure doesn't come to mind. War is a horrible thing; but, nobody stops to think about how much evil war has stopped. Please nobody try to tell me that if someone would have just sat down and talked to and sought to understand hitler, stalin, hussein, bin laden, etc....wars could have been avoided.

Any other Mick Rock fans out there? He has a new book out and of course amazing photos. The stories that guy can tell...man, he's been around the best musicians. I think my favorite photo is the one he did of Queen for their Queen II album. Some good ones of Syd Barrett too. Steve

i LOVE the Giants; but, i'm so disappointed in the GM. He wasn't very aggressive in the off-season; and i never like to hear a team talking about how they're satisfied with their roster. They've needed offense for a while and while i certainly do not think winning the world series last year was a fluke, they were very fortunate to have some incredible pitching and some role players step up big time. I just wasn't comfortable thinking those same guys would suddenly be everyday stars. With such a great pitching staff, it's a shame that they haven't made it a priority to surround them with big bats! Steve

and that my friend sums it up completely--as much as i applaud and agree with your posts, common sense doesn't serve their agenda and you may as well bang your head against your monitor. for some unstated reason, they want to find something, and they won't let truth get in the way of their agenda.
