  1. Hello All--wonderful weather out here in SoCal. Went to Church, then took a very long walk at the beach. Quite a few people had the same idea. sadly, tomorrow is monday and it's back to the salt mines for another five days. But, at least i have a salt mine to go to--and so i'm grateful. Kindest Regards My Friends. Steve
  2. didn't see it; but, dylan didn't never really sound "good." but he is hands down, the best song writer.
  3. those are beautiful. if you ever get mad at them and want to kick them out of your house, send them my direction.
  4. A few months ago, i wrote about meeting my favorite musician--Brian May of Queen. Well, a few years ago, I met my second favorite Rick Wakeman, keyboard player for YES--he autographed a ballcap for me. Yesterday i was looking at his website and sent an email, knowing that the chances of mine being forwarded to him and answered was slim to none. I got an email from Rick today, he answered all my questions (asked him how he liked that circular revolving stage that they used back in '79). Maybe he was never asked about it or i was just lucky; but, he answered (he loved that stage by the way), a little bit of other small talk, and he ended with "all the best, Rick" this is too cool. --Steve--
  5. keep drinking my friends...and never step down
  6. i watched it without sound; but, then reading the comments i had to go back and hear the music--then my ears started bleeding and i had to pull the plug on the computer.
  7. you must take into consideration that their designs are subject to approval by the buyer. i've seen episodes where they've had to make changes because the buyer didn't like something or insisted that something be included. Rarely, do they have carte blanche to do anything and everything that they want. i like paul jaffee's builds--i think he's in arizona; but, i think both OCC and PJD do a decent job.
  8. so i see a pair of la scalas for sale a few hours north of me. i'm interested. today, i get my taxes done...i owe $3000. apparently, i need to increase my payroll withholdings another $200 per month so i'll break even next year. so, i guess those la scalas go to the IRS this year. truth be told, i don't know how many more speakers i can fit in my one bedroom apartment anyway--there's 12 in the living room already--not all hooked up though, have a pair of H1s and H2s collecting dust; BUT, i want la scalas...and cornwalls too, oh yeah and some belles, maybe a pair of Khorns...i guess i could move the dining room table, slot machine, and traffic signal light out and make room for some jubs. so many things i'd rather do than send uncle sam my money. hope the rest of you fair better than i did. **steve**
  9. i agree Ben, and i'll add that you are one of the good ones on this crazy forum.
  10. Gary Moore 4 April 1952 – 6 February 2011 Gary Moore, regarded by many including Queen’s Brian May, as one of the great rock guitarists of the 1960s/70s, has died, aged 58. Born in Belfast on 4 April 1952, Moore’s music career started in 1968 and soon afterwards he joined up with Phil Lynott and Brian Downey to form Thin Lizzy. As time progressed he toured the world, sharing the stage with such blues and rock luminaries as B.B. King, Albert King, Colosseum II, Greg Lake and Skid Row (not to be confused with the glam metal band of the same name), as well as having a wonderfully successful solo career. He guested on a number of chart-topping albums recorded by high profile musicians, while also making a cameo appearance playing the lead guitar solo on ‘She's My Baby’ from Travelling Wilburys (Vol.3). Moore died on 6 February 2011 while on holiday in Estepona, Spain. He was only 58.
  11. hi boxx--nice to see you here. enjoy the ice, if that is possible. definitely not having that problem here in socal. heading out tomorrow to visit my brother. he had a painting accepted into an art show, so he invited me to go with him to the reception. then we'll go back to his pad and crank up the cornwalls.
  12. February is a key month for you! Congrats--except for having diabetes. hope that part goes away.
  13. But I want to be a nice and warm Nancy boy, I don't want to ever see -- anything in temps. If we were to get 1'' of snow and ice they would shut down everything for 100 miles, really. i hear that...out here in the greater los angeles area, we go on "storm watch" if more than five raindrops fall within a 24-hour period. it's rather embarrassing. I spent five years living in Michigan, i worked on an icebreaking ship in the coast guard--so i've seen some mighty fierce weather; so i always hang my head in shame when the reporters hit the street to ask people how they're coping when it rains. but we do have our share of weather related danger--most days, i risk my life driving to work in the blinding sunshine.
  14. don't remind me...it's 53 degrees outside now...brrrrrrrrrrr!
  15. still? man that brings back memories of my first vehicle. 1977 Ford F-150 FWD--great for 50,000 miles, then the head gasket goes.
  16. i wish i was at your party last summer.
  17. i've never heard tangent; but, several people have spoken very highly of them
  18. ACE, i hop you sister recovers quickly.
  19. i used to work for a place that delivered supplies all over the bowels of los angeles. my boss took me to this roach coach in a particularly scary part of town. but i quickly learned it was worth the risk. to this day, i've never had a better taco--and FAR cheaper that at the fast food joints. whod've thunk that a roach coach on the side of the road in a gang ridden area would have some of the best food that i've ever eaten. hmmmm, it's only a 40 minute drive away......
