  1. most of the people i partied with were very nice. They always said Please pass me the bong, and then thanked me. But we didn't always wear socks.
  2. Thebes, guys just go there for the chicks.
  3. They were horrible? Are you sure it wasn't some bad acid? []
  4. I lost four games too--that has never happened to me before. i had Georgetown losing to Tennessee next round anyway; but, Vandy was my darkhorse to make it to the final four.
  5. can't believe i looked forward to something only to have it ruined on the first day. thank you vanderbilt.
  6. i noticed that too. we thought he was a champion of human service and he's really going to basketball games. []
  7. I thought for sure this thread would have been too painful for you to even read. What a difference one year makes, huh? Here's to hoping you have your medical appointment before Villanova sends Duke packing--need to make sure those Duke Docs are in a good mood.
  8. Loved your story Bruce! [Y] Brings back memories. Took a hit of acid one time on the way to the airport. I was flying from Los Angeles to Detroit. Walked into LAX and was just starting to fry. Saw a long line and without questioning, stood in it. After a long while, I found out it was a line for China Airlines or some Far East airline. Bought a MAD magazine and for some reason EVERYTHING in that magazine was funny. i sat there and laughed the whole flight. Looking back now, I hear the wise words of my brother, "God protects the ignorant." DISCLAIMER: I've been drug free for well over 20 years. But, i have a ton of stories. I wish I could say that Justin Hayward was on the flight; but, the Moody Blues weren't involved in that trip. But, I did take some acid and watch Lake Michigan dry up while I listened to REO Speedwagon's Live You Get What You Play For--but, that's another story.
  9. That sure sucks! hope all the clean up and repairs goes smoothly.
  10. Greeting Friends, Finally able to report some good news! Got a $201/month payraise retroactive back to last May 9th, so I got some back pay coming. Will come in handy to pay my school bus ticket; but, i'm sure I'll have enough to buy a few rounds. Even better, I'm due another $100/month raise this coming May. So, i think I'll have some cornwalls or LaScalas by the end of the summer! Hope everyone is well, and that you're feeling better Fini. I met with the surgeon today--physical therapy on shoulder showing very minimal results. He talked me into a cortosone shot before letting him operate. I will get it next wednesday (has to be approved by the insurance company first). So maybe by the end of next week, I will be able to get dressed without being in pain. I've forgotten what that's like. Have a great evening guys! Steve
  11. check out this clip about Queen at Live Aid. I love the part where the guys says that the feeling backstage amongst the bands watching Queen perform was "they're doing it. They're stealing the show."
  12. Money in the bank, buddy! I have Kansas too. My final four are: Kansas, Kentucky, Villanova, and my dark horse......Vanderbilt.
  13. I love the Moody Blues; and was quite upset to read their 2010 tour schedule and NOT see a southern california stop--didn't see any west coast tour dates.
  14. LOL...yes Stew I knew you were joking. Didn't California do away with property taxes some years back....proposition 56 or something like that? no, we still have property taxes here. before i lost my house in the divorce, i was paying $500 a month just to cover the property taxes. I think Prop 13, years ago, froze them until the house was resold, then the new owner has tax based on the new purchase price. i think it's 1 percent of the house's value.
  15. Stew.....me a socialist? Bluesboy said I am to the right of Barry Goldwater and just a little older ofcourse you knew I was joking. i really upset this sociology teacher in college years ago by telling him that John Birch was too liberal for me. I thought the old guy was going to cry.
  16. Well that's not a very good socialist attitude you have there. [:#] I'd better not say anymore, lest I get the dreaded lock. Hope everyone is well.
  17. Then he needs the News of the World album too.
  18. if only vanna white were a member of the forum--she could solve this mystery.
  19. Welcome Rummy. It's no fair that lurkers have KHorns before I do. This is a fun place to be--stick around.
  20. Congrats. I don't know anything about that marantz; but, i can tell you that i was just at my brother's listening to his cornwalls, and i remember asking if it is possible for music to sound any better. he was using a yamaha amp (not sure which model).
  21. that happens to me all the time (from work computer only). in fact, i've given up on many posts over the past couple of months because i've typed it out, hit post, then a blank message box appears. it is frustrating; but, it's really all of your guy's loss--i've said some of my most interesting comments in those posts that disappeared.
  22. Oldtimer, do you drum? The drummer passed away awhile back in a freak accident--i think he fell through a glass door and bled to death. RIP.
  23. Member of the Fearless Foursome Los Angeles Rams defensive line--and aka "Father Murphy."
