  1. reminds me of something that I heard once ... there are no dumb questions, just dumb people that ask questions.
  2. the only logical answer is ... about 11. (Monthy Python fans will understand).

    Jokes?

I was on a search and rescue case back in the 70s ... on Lake Michigan near Green Bay. It was like 30 below with windchill. the corpsman issued us an allocation of brandy because it was so cold. Granted, it was less than a shot; but we were able to find those that didn't want theirs and ended up having the equivalent of a few shots that day. Didn't make up for the time that the ship announced that, since we had performed so great, there was going to be "happy hour." turns out, happy hour meant that they were opening up the soda machine and it was free sodas for an hour. So what, we all drank Mountain Dew because you could reach your hand up into the machine and pull out mountain dews. P.S. I've only had Mountain Dew once since then ... came home and one night made the tragic decision to mix Mountain Dew and whisky ... I instantly regretted that decision and blamed it on the Mountain Dew not the whisky.
  4. well, happy birthday. not sure I even want to make it to 75; but hope life is going well for you.
  5. thanks for the matchmaking attempt guys; but I married a blonde once upon a time. brunettes are the way to go!
  6. yeah, I've heard of it. have jokes been declared illegal yet? Jerry Seinfeld was talking about how hard it is to be a comic these days because somebody will be "offended" no matter what is said.
  7. did you put your hand over your heart and thank me?
  8. I've been to San Clemente many times. In fact, I bought a Saab 900 there many moons ago. Miss the beach life.
  9. just opened a bottle of Siete Leguas tequila .... good stuff.
  10. back in the 70s that would have meant something totally different than coffee.
  11. hey Dave @Dave1291 I'm not saying it; but I'm thinking it real hard ... KETCHUP! Peace Brother Man.
  12. what? He was the best medical examiner ever! And Sam was a cool sidekick.
  13. can't relate to that ... caffeine never got me amped up. I used to get home from bowling between 11 and midnight, I'd stop at Carl's Jr. and get a burger, fries, and a coke ... then go right to bed (after watching Quincy of course).
  14. would love to help; but my time machine is in the shop. When I get it back, I'll take you for a spin ... ask @dwilawyer it's "Safe as Milk."
  15. always loved the guitar riff in Hot Rod Lincoln.
  16. I may have a cocktail tonight with the remaining Bulleit. I intentionally didn't restock up the beer fridge nor did I buy more tequila. But, I still have a bit left over in the bourbon bottle. Not my favorite stuff; but will do in a pinch.
  17. what about that cherry syrup stuff from one of those Hostess Cherry Pies?
  18. it's not worth it in most cases. With Avion, I bought there $150 a bottle stuff and didn't like it near as much as their $60 offering -- even their $49 bottle is better than the Avion 44.
  19. yeah, I know; but when I was a kid my doctor had a sign in his office that said "Living is Hazardous to your health." many say the key to most things is moderation, and I have a very addictive personality and moderation has never been mentioned in the same sentence as my name.
  20. VERY little sugar for me and NEVER added to anything I eat. Rarely eat desserts or candy. If I'm having coffee or (another rarity) a bowl of cereal ... I'll use sweet & low. Other than beer and the occasional coffee, no beverage I drink has calories or sugar. Vitamin water, sparkling water, club soda, diet 7up.
  21. I LOVE tequila. Currently, my favorite is Avion.
  22. hope you adjust to your (forced) new lifestyle. Been in that position myself.
  23. One of my friends was an exceptional football player. he played at Nebraska for a year then quit football. he said that they just took all the fun out of playing and he realized that he wasn't willing to give what the program was asking ... eat, sleep, and drink football. He talked about two a days, chalk talks in the evening ... life was just nothing but football and while he liked football, he realized he didn't like it THAT much.
  24. historically, I've been a huge caffeine guy ... I used to drink diet cokes all day long at work. But, when I developed PVCs, the cardiologist said that caffeine can sometimes bring them on ... so I gave up caffeine. That thumping feeling in my chest gets real annoying, so anything I can do to make it stop! I don't know if caffeine has a taste of its own; but I don't notice a taste difference between regular and decaf. Plus, I never got wired from caffeine anyway, I could drink coffee or soda late in the evening and it didn't affect my sleep at all.
