  1. Well I picked up Pretty Hate Machine and The Downward Spiral today. I am pleased and think I like Pretty Hate Machine more. I can definitly make one excellent CD from these two. Thanks
  2. Thanks! Haven't been hiding...just discovered this forum. Oh and I know a little about topic... ;-) Welcome.

What do you call a fly with no wings? A walk!
  5. Thanks guys. I'll give "The Downward Spiral" a shot and see what happens. Sean
  6. Were you listening in 5.1 or 2 channel? I listened in 2 channel and the sound stage seemed right. It seemed like the midrange would've been harsh but was actually a bit subdued and blended well.
  7. I ran across Nine Inch Nails on MHD channel. I have never been a fan of them, actually never listened to them, but I am impressed with this live performance. Are there any fans here that could recommend some albums to check out? Sean
  8. No I didn't but I am certain of the improvement. Although subtle, quite pleasing and noticable. I began listening to more genres of music and looking for very good recordings. One of the biggest differences is how noticable poorly recorded music is. Sean
  9. It's hard to say what they sound like before you change them. I was really happy with the sound before the switch but noticed a considerable improvement after. It seems the soundstage and separation improved resulting in a more detailed sound.
  10. Thanks boom3. I cleaned it up a little and it looks cool sitting on top of my sub. If you know of anyone interested in restoring it I'll let em have it for shipping plus packaging. I don't want to get rid of it for someone to just sell it. Sean
  11. Wow! An "Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator".
  12. Thanks. After some googling I found a couple of links. http://www.antiqueradio.org/g500.htm It does look cool. If anyone wants it let me know. If not I'll clean it up and display it. Sean
  13. My sister gave me this. I think it's a portable HAM radio but I'm not sure. What is it? I have more pictures if it would help. Thanks
  14. I replaced the caps in my La Scala's with Sonicaps. They sound very nice.
  15. Brilliant work! How do they sound?
  16. Thebes You are one funny dude! When I was a young teenager I would have killed for some Realistics. When I hit the mid teens I heard some Heresies and could never forget how wonderful they sounded. When I turned 18 I made my first major purchase, a JVC rack system with four big tower speakers. It was impressive and all of my friends wanted one like it. Then I got married and the wife convinced me to get rid of the towers and get the BOSE Acoustimas.[:'(] That was probably the worst mistake I ever made. (Well maybe not ever.) Then I built my first pair of two ways that cost me about $350 total and I GAVE the Bose away. One day a good friend called and asked if I wanted to buy his La Scala's for $700. I was worried about the wife freaking out and I really liked my home brews so I waited. A few months passed and I was offshore with Jay (Canyonman) and told him about the LS's that my buddy had. He said he was interested so I gave my friend a call and asked if he still had them. His words were "Come pick them up when you get in and I'll give them to you free." Jay and I talked about a deal or two but nothing final. When I got them home and hooked em up to the same JVC I bought at 18 there was no way they would ever leave my house. Jay knew if I listened he wasn't going to get them. He was right and I feel a little bad but, he has Klipschorns and now Forte II's. He'll probably have LaScala's someday as well. So, free LS the same old JVC integrated and a kick butt homemade sub. Under $1000 invested for some serious audio experiences. Gotta love it! Sean
  17. But I love my rifle! I just wanted to get it out there cause I did the mounting and paint myself. It currently shoots about .4" groups center to center at 100 yards! Not to bad. That's the first comment I got about it. I kinda thought I might get a few being it isn't stereo related. I'll change it to something nice if I find it. How're the K-Horns sounding? Any new "toys"?
  18. Yeah, I speak a little flat but I have some friends from way south Lafourche Parish that would trip you out. People can usually tell where we are from if they have ever been around here. I lived just south of Houston in the late 90's and most of the women loved the accent. [] The fishing has been great lately but it's really hot to be in a boat all day. The sun really wears you out.
  19. When I joined the forum I would have never guessed that I would hit 100 posts. After some time here, it became apparent that this forum was very friendly and most users were family oriented. I have come to like this forum alot and check things out daily. I'd like to thank everyone here for providing great knowledge and advice. I am now officially addicted to Klipsch and it's community. Keep up the great work!
  20. I also go 3/4 volume in my offshore computer lab. I run a CD walkman and an Ipod. Both seem to sound best at about 3/4. If you can live with the volume, I wouldn't go more. Offshore system: JVC Ax-518, CD Walkman, Ipod, Advent Marbl's, Home brew sub w/ 2- 12" Punch P-1 tuned at 28 Hz
  21. I forgot to mention that my buddy is very happy. They had been in his attic for about fifteen years. He says that he listens to them almost every day now.
  22. Thanks to everyone on the nice comments. I listened to them for about 3 days before my friend picked them up. I was quite impressed with the sound. ABing with the LaScala's revealed a few things: The sound was very "warm". They are not fatiguing. They are not bass shy but not beasts either. They do not image very well. The sound just comes from the direction of the speakers. You don't really hear the speaker but separation of sounds isn't apparent. They are no where near as efficient as the LS. I like the far out look. Overall, pleasant to listen to. If I owned them I would keep them.
  23. Dam! My LS's are painful to listen to. Guess I'll have to spend 20K.
  24. Thanks for the reply. I think I'll try the CSS in the other box. Would there be an advantage running both at 500 watts? If so I may go with another Dayton. Sean
