  1. I already have a La Scala to use as a center channel, I think since it has the same horn as the La Scala it will actually be a better match than a single La Scala. No takers on the other Khorns or La Scala's he has? I have his email address that I can provide you. Anyone interested in my Belle's please contact me I think I will be asking $1500 for them. Email me for any details.
  2. I finally found myself a pair of Khorns - Yippee! They are from the 80's and in Oak. However, he has a pair of 70's birch raw Khorns that need a little work he said one has a scratch on the front and some delamination in the rear but he is asking $1000 for them and he has a rough pair of La Scala's for $400. I don't have all the details as of yet I am waiting for him to email me back. Once I do if anyone is interested in the 70's Khorns or the La Scala's I can put you in contact with him. He is location in Maine near the NH border I won't know more until I speak with him. Uh Oh! that means I will be selling my '80 Oak Clear Belle's w/cane grills as soon as I have the Khorns in my possession. I have attached a photo of one of my Belle's.
  3. God, I would love to have these Cornwalls! It is a shame they are so far away in KY. Hope that someone here on the BB picks them up.
  4. Hey Kain, your avatar does you justice a dark faceless shadow it would be nicer with a set of crosshairs on it.
  5. Kain, why don't you just stay in Pakistan when you go. If you don't like the country stay the hell out! 82 TCF Anywhere - Anytime - USAF!
  6. Unfortunately, there are other things that you need to consider. You can't just slap in any ole' 12" woofer and expect it to sound good. You need to obtain the Theile/Small parameters for the 12" driver from Klipsch so that you can find an alternate woofer that will perform in that particular enclosure. It is highly unlikely that you will find a perfect match. The KSW-12 is ported so the port may have to be modified to "tune" the enclosure for a different woofer. The woofer you choose would have to work with the internal cu. ft. volume of the enclosure and the port's tuning frequency. My be easier to just build your own sub, or sell the KSW-12 and purchase a bigger or different subwoofer. Good luck in your quest.
  7. Just copy the text, go to http://www.freetranslation.com set the parameter to German to English and violah - translation! I do it all the time for items from Germany, France, Austria or Spain.
  8. Go for it Gary, they are yours if you want them. Too far for me to want to drive.
  9. Hey Jhawk if you get hooked up with the OO Khorns I'd be interested in your Chorus II's or Forte II's if you plan on parting with them. I would use them for rears in place of my Heresy II's.
  10. The cane cloth looks much better in person than it does in a photograph. You'll find out soon enough m00n aren't the top portions of your Belle's done in cane? It sure looked like it in the photo. If I could figure an easy way to get these to me I would buy them and put them in place of my Heresies.
  11. Don't forget the $50 he wants to ship the thing, one too many hits off the ole' crack pipe me thinks.
  12. Also keep in mind that each time you "Y" out the LFE output you are losing signal strength. It is designed to feed a single input and when divided, signal output is divided and reduced by a 1/3.
  13. Bill, I believe he was selling one, not looking for one. This may even be his. He might not have got a response from anyone on the BB and posted it on Audiogon in hopes it would sell prior to going to eBay with it. $450-475 is steep! I realize at times they can go for that on eBay but it is still not a reasonable price for an Academy. I would consider $300 - $350 a little more within reason and closer to its actual value.
  14. Did someone on this BB get these Khorns? If so let us know. Thanks!
  15. In my continuing search for a pair of Khorns I came across this ad. Klipschorns in Oiled Oak for sale $1900. Here is the link. http://www.mytownads.com/colorado/boulder/household.html Hope someone hooks up, I need a pair in my area!
  16. Where are you located? Can you post a few photos? More info please!
  17. Well I guess I missed them, I called the number and was told they are sold! Damn, those were in my driving range. If someone is looking for Khorns in Ohio (I think) I have posted my Wanted to Buy ad link where a guy has a boxed pair for $2500, any takers? http://cgi.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/wtb.pl?spkrfull&1050847597 See the last offer. Others want way too much. Anyone know of any other Khorns in the Northeast please let me know. Thanks! Any finish.
  18. I'll take them! If I do manage to be able to get these Khorns is anyone looking for a pair of 1980 Belle Klipsch in Oak Clear w/Cane Grills. Zip cord has been updated to 12GA monster cable on all drivers and tin spade lugs have been replaced with gold plated versions. Mid horn has been damped w/dynamat otherwise all original. I removed the small mounting block that resides under the top plate of the bass section when replacing the wire. I have the parts still. Beautiful speakers. You've got mail!
  19. The DBX 3BX-DS is spefically designed with digital media in mind and will make incredible differences in CD or DVD playback without any sonic artifacts whatsoever. The 5BX-DS can even make a DDD recorded CD sound better, the 5BX is so sophisticated the level is never higher than the original recorded one, it is a true linear controller.
  20. Should work fine to reproduce the lower octaves of bass that the Belle's are not capable of then. They drop like a rock at like 55hz, I use my DBX 120X-DS Subharmonic Synthesizer to try and squeeze a little more out of them. However mine are augmented by an additional set of mains and two 15" subwoofers. I have the ability to turn/switch the subs off and they sound nice without them but the subs really round them out nicely. I rarely ever turn my system up but did have the ocassion to do it once all I can say is WOW! It seems the louder it got, the clearer and more lifelike it got. It pegged the 119db SPL level on my DBX 14/10 equalizer and it was not at maximum.
  21. A single 12" (Klipsch) subwoofer will not have sufficient output, dynamics or speed to keep up with the 120db+ levels that the Belle's are capable of when being driven at or near their limits.
  22. I really dont think you need to get that aggresive with the dampening. A few strategically placed pieces of dynamat or equivalent will dampen it sufficiently. Rope caulk is also good for dampening and probably cheaper than dynamat.
  23. Compatibility is not really an issue, any sub bass that you can add to the Belle's will be appreciated and welcomed. However, it will not hang if you listen to the Belle's at or near concert levels. For normal average listening it should work just fine. However, I do not think that is a powered sub (no internal amplifier) I could be wrong but if that is the case you will need an amplifier or an additional set of leads off your receiver to power it.
  24. An integrated amplifier is a preamplifier and amplifier put together in a package, a receiver adds an AM/FM tuner. So an integrated amplifier is similar to a receiver minus the tuner.
  25. I usually find that a good tongue lashing can clean up the stickest of patches, they find it quite enjoyable too!
