  1. Gary, you certainly take the game in stride, as I just get so frustrated at times. Just call me Happy Gilmour[] Snakes, goffers and worms BEWARE
  2. My Vote.....view it, and maybe that will make for nice conversation for the trip back home[][:$] However, I would suggest pulling Gary aside and allow him to preview this thread. Not that there is anything incriminating, but just common courtesy.
  3. Let's just rename the SitCom "Everybody Loves Raymond" to: or we can just nickname him Mr. Popularity[] "Wait til you get ahold of me" Sincerely, Jack Nicholson AKA The Joker (Batman)[]
  4. "Who's Gary?"...........from the movie Weird Science[] Much love for the Bethesda boy[<)]
  5. Maybe he'll have a stack for me next month, CAUSE I KNOW WHERE HE LIVES!!![] J/K......yes, I was very impressed w/GP and his system(S). Who else would offer a total stranger into their house to audition their equipment? Then again, he's not offered lately....hmmmmmmm![:'(] Gary certainly gave me some valuable tidbits of information.[]
  6. I'm BACK by unpopular demand[] 11 Days vacation, and most of my audio listening was performed from inside the automobile.......but if anyone even suggests Rebecca Pidgeon's "Spanish Harlem", I swear I'll scream! One HOT day jumping from vehicle-to-vehicle w/the same repetitious Chesky CD. http://www.chesky.com/core/details.cfm?productcode=UD095&productcategoryid=1 And just to think I get to do it again this Sunday.....UGH! Good reference disc for those in the tuning mode should anyone decide to go automotive! Beware, It's a tough disc to master[:S]
  7. Welcome to the madness.......and don't feel bad, it only took me 23 years to locate the Klipsch forums.
  8. Cool, but I would like to arrive early enough for "social hour" and preview your systems. Right now, I kinda figuring 3-4pm arrival. I'll get more info as the date approaches, but that is good info. Thanks Larry
  9. This may turn out to be a very busy weekend, since I've now been asked to help judge SQ for VA State finals in Charlottesville, VA. Does anyone have a clue on what time we may be finishing up Saturday night? Trying to figure the logistics for that weekend, and I know it is a 3-3.5 hour drive from Bethesda. Somewhere I must get some sleep, so I may come up Saturday afternoon as opposed to morning, depending on the agenda. Glad I just got NEW tires put on the car.
  10. I used the 211 Provincial Minwax Oil-based stain, and it has yellowed slightly over the 24 year period.
  11. I am banning myself because: I'll be on vacation until 9/11......a significant date in history! I own SS gear and not Tube and am inferior in all aspects (not worthy)[:S] I possess the phenomenal Bose 3-2-1 system[<)] ...and most of all, because I am a chicken pusher![8-)] See ya'll in 10 ten days[], unless you join me @ the Fredericksburg, VA Hooter's on Sept 9th
  12. I'm holding off for the $50K set......if I'm still around by then[] Definitely MUST have for the next Pilgrimage, but if you look @ Focal for example, all the hi-end speakers appear to have a nice pricetag.
  13. Hope I'm not interfering, but I too think some of the recent HU's are NOT very attractive. I too, much prefer the classic, traditional look:
  14. Yes, Ole' Dave is part of my vinyl ensemble also.....Traffic, and his solo efforts such as the Double Certified Live LP, and "Let it Flow". Dave Mason and Steve Winwood were the foundation IMHO
  15. Well, we could make it a monthly double-header for this event: Thursday October 11 at 8:00 pm ....... WQJZ Smooth Jazz 97.1, WMDT Channel 47 & The Atlantis Inn presents Brenda Russell and Candy Dulfer. The energy the will be created by these two artists will be electrifying! $10.00 of every ticket will be donated to "relay For Life/Womens Health Breast Cancer. Tickets are from $69.00 - $59.00.
  16. I'm YouTube BLOCKED......grrrrr! I.T. upgrades have me locked out on many sites. Before you say it, it is company-wide[:'(]
  17. Wait a dog-done minute.....Isn't it the women that say "BIGGER" is always better, so why pick on large hi-fi systems?[] Comon' gals, which is it?[]
  18. All I know is that a remote control in the hands of a man, is not always a good thing. Wait....change that station back, there is something I wanted to see Slow down, you're going to fast, and I might miss something important Can't you leave it on one station for more than 5 seconds? If you don't stop it, I'm gonna hide that remote So I claimed ADD......attention deficit disorder (It didn't work)
  19. Yes, those Far East clubs are a disciplined bunch, and just a shame that someone has to lose. Both teams played their heart out, and I am not totally convinced that the 85 pitch count rule is a such a good idea in post-season play. Nevetheless, it was an entertaining series. Even got a stick pin (souvenir) from one of the guys from work who attended the Sunday ESPN game Sunday before last. First time a local LL team has ever gone this far.
  20. I've had the opportunity to listen to several nice systems, both IASCA and MECA vehicles. Is it worth the cost/benefit? Just depends on your perspective and stubborness to overcome a whole slew of challenges posed by a vehicular soundstage. Most of the hi-end competitors are sponsored and don't incur the expense of the everyday competitor such a myself, and why do we do it? Probably for the love of competition and passion of accepting a challenge to attain that PERFECT sound. Much like us here in the KLIPSCH boards who have a strong attachment to their respective systems/musical preferences and interpersonal relationships created by this union. Trust me, you can achieve an overwhelming level of accuracy, clarity, and staging if you have the right tools and equipment/and tuning skills. I've never heard a PERFECT car/truck/SUV audio system, but some that were pretty darn close. My racing handle is "Junk in a Trunk", but it does come in handy at shows, meets, and various events where you just hang around all day. It also comes with a 400# weight penalty (completely dynamatted) This is where Oldtimer says, "and you are losing a 1/2 second at the track"[][]
  21. OEM or aftermarket? I'm with you![Y] http://www.fquick.com/garages/Pontiac/Trans_Am_Firehawk/2002/1212/
  22. OMG, 200#'s???? And to think I thought the Heritage line was heavy. That's hernia territory[] Very curious on the performance
  23. Have any of you TX members ever heard of a band called Harry Wurzbach and the 410's? From San Antonio, TX .....a 5 man band! One of the members sent me a double CD "Live" version of cover material. Not bad! http://www.medinalake.com/bandschhistory.htm
  24. Don't get your hopes up too high. You could be sorely disappointed. I've put on a bit of weight since I quit smoking and I don't think my tux fits anymore. Try gaining weight and STILL smoking.........stick w/it Gary![Y]
