  1. Jorjen - Yes...I approve!!!! Simply stunning!!! - Can't wait until you upload some more pictures.
  2. Dave, Once you guys have finalized a design, and should you wish to commercialize it, would it not be easier for you to build multiple horns using a mold system? Based on review of the pictures you added above, seems like a lot of work goes into play to develop these horns - even with the assistance of a CNC machine. Goodluck to you both. Dk
  3. Greg, Were you not happy with the BMS Coax? As I mentioned before - the Orphean system was the best system I have heard to date by a long shot. I have been to many "HiFi" stores as well as attended few fancy audiofests/shows - and nothing came close to the Orpheans. Again - that is the reason why I sold every upgrade I had (Vtrac horns + ALK Universal and ES Crossovers). I want to save up my money for an Orphean system or hopefully Al's offering can be finalized soon enough and I can save for that. I don't know how much the networks/mods that BD-Design provides for the BMS is helping the system. Based on your opinion of the BMS coax, it seems like a lot may have to do with the network design BD-Design provides. I am really hopping that AL can provide similar results with a more budget driver like the B&C.
  4. I now regret selling my Khorns (which I sold just last week). I would be shocked if this does not turn out to be one of the best upgrades to the Khorns. -D
  5. Al, I think this is an excellent idea. To date, the best system I have ever heard (by a long shot), is the Oris Horn Orphean system by BD Design I beleive the 2" co-ax driver mated to the Khorn bassbin - would be equaly good - but even if it isn't, I'm hoping it would be 90% there at less than half the cost of the Orphean system. Listening to the Orphean system was the number #1 reason why I gave up my Khorns (which I tried with all upgrades including V-trac+2"BMS driver, etc. etc.). But despite all the upgrades - my system was nowhere near as good as the Oris. Granted they are very expensive - but the performance was there. That is percisely why I am looking forward to your next project. I wish you best of luck.
  6. What specific Ashly crossover where you using? I just recently picked up an Ashly XR-2001 from local craigslist ad for $150 which I plan to use with my JBL 4345 Clone.
  7. Al, I have a pair of 2405 that I will be using to build a JBL 4345 clone. I'm really busy at work at the moment - but if I get a chance, I can certainly try to mail you the pair I have. They are the alnico versions. I'm not exactly sure how they will measure - I simply picked them up as they are a favorite among many audio enthusiasts. I'm sure many others would be curious to know how they perform. Cheers, D
  8. Al, You should have James tweeters today. They are "Out for delivery". Looking forward to your test. Thanks, Dhar
  9. ...and the winner is.........(drumroll).....all of us. I think the competition between the two of you has resulted in great products for all us. I have absolutely loved every product that AL has come up with - I have pretty much gone down the entire line.... I started with the universals, then the trachorn, and then the most amazing upgrade in my system- the ALK ES Crossovers. If I have to choose one product that resulted in the most performance increase in my system, I would say it has the be the ALK ES Crossovers. Unlike most of you, I like my music loud. I love to be able to turn it up and enjoy distortion free music. The ES crossover all me to do just that. Later, I discovered the V-Trac. I don't know or understand how the V-Tac+BMS combo measures technically, but those who have had the opportunity to hear it know that it is something special. When I A/Bed the Al Trachorn+JBL 2470 driver vs the V-Trac+BMS combo, I preferred the V-Trac+BMS more. I wouldn't go so far as to label this an "improvement" - its just a different sound that I preferred. I think the V-Trac+BMS combo is CRAZY expensive, but to me, the cost was worth it. I think the ALK+Trachorn+JBL 2470 gets you 95% of the way there. All in all - I think both of you guys have come up great products that make music more enjoyable. However, I do wish the bashing between you two would end (at least here at the forums).
  10. How much are you looking to burn? I have the following setup for sale (maybe? - still too scared to let go). http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/p/132473/1343353.aspx#1343353 But this is pretty much as good as a Khorn can get (at least I think so).
  11. I believe that is incorrect. The "H" and "J" after the 2441 designates whether is is 8oms or 16ohm. Additionally, the 2440 and 2441 have the same body but different diaphragms - I believe the 2441 has higher HF extension. Lastly, if my post above is incorrect, then I apologize for in advance for any confusions I may have caused :-).
  12. The crazy thing is that I have Greg's V-Trac with BMS Drivers and ALK ES X-over with Upgraded Caps, etc. however, I have not had the time to set everything up. Greg requested that I post my honest opinion on them, but I just haven't had the time to really give them a listen. The only time I heard the V-Trac was when I received the demo units - man that was a treat. I look forward to setting my system up in the near future.
  13. Invidiosulus, Edgar, and Dr. Who, I don't understand 1/100th of the stuff you guys talk about, but please don't stop commenting despite criticisim from others. I am trying to learn here and your input/contributions are priceless. Thanks, Dhar
  14. I have a HK730 in which the right channel recently stopped working. It used to "pop" from time to time and now there is no sound at all in one of the channels. Is this something that could be fixed easily? I certainly don't want to spend much money fixing it if it cannot be easily repaired. Please let me know what you thing it could be. Thanks, d
  15. Rudy, If you need a sub to keep up with that system, I would highly recommend going DIY. Check out the following link for some ideas: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1104368
  16. that has to be one kick as*s home theater system. Khorns+LaScala+Khorns+Cornwall+Cornwall+Cornwall+Corwall?
  17. If someone has done this, please chime in.... I am interested in this as well.
  18. Curly, I'm not pissed at all - it was my misfortune that I could not buy these from you at the time you were selling them (at which point you and I both agreed that you could happily and very easily to sell them to someone else). Anyhow - my comment earlier was only to warn you that you may* get in trouble for advertising them as "Klipsch Jubilee Clones" - thats all I was trying to say. Goodluck with your business. D
  19. that is dangerous - this is a lawsuit waiting to happen. I would seriously recommend him calling it anything but Klipsch Jubilee Clones - He souldn't be doing this to begin with - but at the least he should not be making any reference to the Jubilees, (call it just bass-horn instead).
  20. Hey JC, Any comments on why the bass impact of the DBBs will be greater than the Jamboree? - They both include the same woofers except one is horn-loaded and the other is vented. I would imagine the DBBs to have better low end extentions, but to have better overall bass impact than the much more difficult to build Jamboree is somewhat surprising. If you could please share your thoughts on the aforemetioned bass bins, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks, Dhar
  21. Whether or not he owns Klipsch gear - I have bought way too much stuff for him and he has always cut me deal way better than I could find anywhere else - so ... I can't complain.
  22. Greg, Quick question - is it possible to just use the vtrac horn and buy a BMS 4592ND (i.e. NOT THE MID-ONLY version). This could eliminate the need for the Beyma as the tweeter is already coaxiled into the mid-driver (and the x-over is built in). That way you could simply put the vtac right in the middle of the khorn and have the sound of the tweeter+mid come from the save driver (same time since they are aligned) and elimiated the need to 3-way crossover. Let met know your thoughts. Thanks
