  1. How do you reset the lamp timer? I was not able to find it in the menus.
  2. I have kids so I will get an extra bulb. The clock on the first bulb was 1600 hours. I hope I do that well.

    PS3 question

I got a demo 80g unit back in April and it worked for a couple of days and did the same thing. When I got sony on the phone I explained that I had done an update to try and solve the problem as well. They asked a couple of questions about what I had tried and gave me a return authorization. They sent a box and I sent it back and they sent me a new one in 2 days. No problems since.
  4. Thanks for the input. The seller allowed me to try the projector and it blew away my Optoma HD70. The color saturation and the definition is great for my purpose. The price was good at $1500. By the way, the bulbs are $400 and are the same ones that are used on the benq 8700 and 7800.
  5. I have an Onkyo 674 receiver that a friend wants to purchase. I am looking at an upgrade to a new receiver. I have looked at the Pioneer Elite VSX03THX and a NAD 755. I would like to try the new HD codecs and get three or more hdmi inputs for ps3, cable box and an apple computer, Any comments about these or others in the $1,000 or below range? I have a mid level PSB speaker set up for five channels. I may move to 3 quartets in the front and two heresys in the back. Could be two quartets and one heresy in the front. I do not know if it matters to the receiver selection but I have a mirage bps400 sub.
  6. Please let me know if you want to sell a single quartet. I had listed my pair of quartets for sale but if I could get a third I would replace my PSBs in my theater set up.
  7. Does anyone own one of these? I am considering purchasing a used unit. Any infromation or advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
  8. Oldbuckster, Highjacked. I am confused. I got this from b&j site. Did they own the parlor in saratoga? "In 1977 Ben left the school and decided to go into the food business with his childhood pal, Jerry. The two settled on ice cream (as opposed to bagels due to the expensive machinery needed) and started performing research. They chose Burlington, Vermont as the second-best place to start their ice cream venture, mostly due to the fact that it was a great college town in desperate need of an ice cream parlor, and because their first choice --Saratoga Springs, New York-- already had an ice cream parlor." "Ben & Jerry’s Homemade Ice Cream Parlor opened for business in May, 1978, in a renovated gas station on a busy streetcorner in Burlington, Vermont. Ben & Jerry’s soon became known throughout Vermont as much for its rich, unusual flavors as for Ben’s and Jerry’s community-oriented approach to business, whereby good will, good times, and good ice cream were shared through a variety of events, such as an autumn “Fall Down” Festival, a free outdoor movie festival, and a celebration of the business’ 1-year anniversary with a Free Cone Day (an anniversary celebration still observed, now with free cones served all day at every Ben & Jerry’s scoop shop nationwide.)" "Jerry moved back up north in 1976, and again moved in with Ben, this time in Saratoga Springs, New York. There, they decided to pursue their dream of starting a food business together. They settled on ice cream and began researching the industry. After receiving A's in a $5 Penn State correspondence course in ice cream making, they set up their Ben & Jerry’s ice cream parlor in Burlington, Vermont, opening in May of 1978." ?????
  9. I thought they met in Long Island and did not start making ice cream until after they moved to Vermont? I used to visit the old garage in Burlington and they would have three or four flavors on sale. The next flavors were spinning in the window with flavor labels and finish times on the churning machines. BTW My brother had pairs of genesis and epi's in the seventies. I preferred the ar's and the advents. Still have some large advents in the work shop with an old pioneer receiver. The receiver uses an old ac power cord for speaker wire with a bend in one of the plug prongs.
  10. I want a set as well. There is a box for coupon codes. Are there any forum member coupons?
  11. I paid $190 for two sequential sheets of paper backed cherry. The first shipment that was damaged was almost clear. I guess it is like sending back a meal at a restaurant.
  12. I have the logitech 550. It eas $129 at Costco a couple of years ago. I only have one bluetooth remote (PS3) all other equipment id IR. I was able to get an aftermarket IR adaptor/remote. The adaptor allows the use of the 550 to control the PS3. The logitech remote pc site coding is very good. It has a few hitches but it also has a very comprehensive set of codes ready to go.
  13. Here are some pics of the veneer "slivers"
  14. Greg, Got two new sheets of undamaged cherry last week. I have a question. The sheets have a large number of dark slivers in the grain. As an example you can see a few in the damaged picture above. Should I accept this and not send it back or is this pretty standard for cherry? Peter
  15. Another question. My horns and bass driver are mounted to the back of the motor board. Is there any problem with running a 1/4" or 3/8" router round over bit in the motorboard openings to give a slight horn shaped look to the openings?
  16. Did the boards I sent work out? If not what did you end up with?
  17. Oldbuckster, Have you heard the RR2150? A friend who has a better ear than I do does not like the outlaw stuff generally. He says it can be "bright". What is your experience? I would like to upgrade my surround amp and preamp and the specs on th outlaw look great. But you have to pay for shipping to audition them.
  18. I have the cayin a50t. I highly recommend it. It matches very well with the klipsch. I have listened with heresys, quartets and and corwalls. The forward nature of the klipsch are somewhat mellowed by the strong smooth and musical midrange. The primaluna (cousin to the cayin, both made in the same factory) is a very nice piece as well but I have heard people have bad experiences with the sole vendor of primaluna. I have two friends who have much more expensive setups than mine who rave about the primaluna. They do sound very good in there systems but I have not heard them with klipsch. I will give you a better review on the heresys when I get the my new titanium tweeters installed this weekend.
  19. Got my cherry veneer and the 2 sequenced sheets were slightly damaged. Fdex banged up both ends of the box. I guess I will send them back because I only have 1 1/2 inches of waste for the most of the width of both sheets.
  20. Glue up with paper backing worked great. It was kind of tought to get the backing in place because the hole was very close to the frame. After three tries I got it in the proper place following the pleated form of the surround. Flexibility seemed good after it dried. I have another question. What should be done to the crossovers, if any thing. I will give them a try as is but I thought I would begin planning. Here is a picture.
  21. New England here as well. My ancestry goes back to early MA settlers in rehoboth, ma. My line of the family must have done something bad and got chased off to vermont early on. All of my family was born in Vermont. Wicked is still used often in my house but with more of a northern twang. It is kind of a slower paced cross between boston and down east maine dialect.
  22. I have the wrapping paper stuff. You saved me having to explain rolling papers in the workshop.
