  1. Gosh, as a Canadian, reading parts of this thread doesn't feel very "brotherly". I can honestly say that had the USA won, my life wouldn't have stopped cuz of it, but rather have been happy that we were able to come back to give them a game that was deserved to be one for the gold.
  2. I agree Big Stew about Bowersox. She can sing! I hope Didi can pull it together as well and do good. She seems to have a heart. I haven't saw the guys yet as I had to tape it last night(Olympics) so I will see it tonight and the elemination. I found the girls to be a bit boring mostly. But that usually happens this early, try to play it safe for the nerves I guess.
  3. Thank you, so there isn't a "technical" way to see what it does.
  4. I was wondering when someone was going to say something.
  5. Hopefully someone can help me figure out Audyssey Dynamic EQ. It seems to add lots of bass and boost to the sound, I'm fine with that, but, what does it do? Technically speaking, what x-over does it use, what is the EQ settings when turned on, levels, etc.?. Does anyone know for sure?
  6. ARRRR I hate that! Come on Amy, palleeeeeeeeeeeeeze tell us. Tell us, tell us, tell us.[Y][<)][8][G]
  7. I was thinking about buying a subwoofer for underneath every speaker and running them full-range. Hooking them up through the high pass filter speaker connections. So, 5.1 = 6 subwoofers.
  8. OMFG, I can't believe I forgot about The Trailer Park Boys! What kind of fan am I... Even the reruns are just as funny rthe second third fourth, oh who my kidding, hilarious at any time! So I will say ... The Trailer Park Boys!
  9. Fini - Way too COOL!! It'd been a blast(no pun intended[k there was]) to be on that show. Especially when blowing something up!
  10. I'll play: Smallville! How I Met Your Mother Big Bang Theory NASCAR Sprint Cup Mythbusters
  11. HEY Speakerfritz! Great to hear your doing good. Sometimes it takes something special to make us take a deep look at ourselves to notice the specialness that lies with and around us. Good on you. Have a bottle for me! [Y]
  12. That is weird. The large setting would use up power from the receiver to power the lower frequencies and would cause more distortion(you may not hear). Putting the speakers to small and x-over to 80hz lets the subwoofer take this strain off the receiver so it can play cleaner/easier from 80Hz and up. Setting the LFE/bass out to both puts the fronts to large anyways. Setting it to SWFR puts those frequencies(80Hz and down) to the sub only, and lets the other speakers do the rest. I fooled around with this on my Yamaha for hours until I figured out how I liked it cause the manual doesn't state what happens with all the different settings for possibilities. What I ended up with was 80Hz setting and all speakers on small. The odd time I would listen with the x-over being at 60Hz, and it didn't sound bad, other than noticing a bit of audible distortion from my centre channel, but then you don't particularly want much under 80Hz to go through the centre channel as I find it muddies the sound and I don't listen to Barry White DVDs all that often. 13. Vette, no its not the level. There is a setting in the menu under (if I remember correctly) the advanced setup(I think its the second option under basic setup). Then speakers setup, and in that menu where you can set the size of speakers, I believe its in that same menu, if you use on screen menu, it should be easy to find, if not, you may have to read the manual. Some Yamaha receivers only have the one crossover setting. 80Hz is fine if it sounds good to you. It will also take excess strain off the receiver and let your subwoofer handle what its meant for.
  14. Ah well, you know, us young Reference people could always resort to the - who can hear higher frequencies - debate. Old vs. Young. Just kidding. I know I'll have my turn.
  15. ???Why do you want to look like a zebra ???
  16. This is a pretty good race car game IMO. I'm not big into racing games but wanted a game where I was able to do upgrades and so I was told to pick this up. And I am pleashd I did. There are some really good things about this game from the different vehicles to choose from to the way you design them. Seems to be really in depth. Anyone else enjoy this game?
  17. Yes, it did zappa. What it seems to do is(in my case) decrese the levels down so that when you have the volume at reference (0 on the display) then it outputs the actual output at 75dB which is reference level. What I did before running it was write down what my settings were just in case it messed them up. Then I was able to put my levels back where I had them and as far as reference level goes, I don't have to turn it up so high to achieve what is reference level. But I did take in that if my front left was playing louder than my front right, I adjusted for that compensation as I have a speaker that is near a wall so its prolly affecting that level. Not much though.
  18. Yea,I have monkey'd around with that mayself lately and am not happy with what they want me to do but has been a decent guidline as far as distance and any phase issues. They really go hard on the bass in my setup, not that there is any lack of. But it also lets me know what I can do with my system/setup and with changing the internal EQ.
  19. Oh, ok, I will not spend the $$, thanks Arky.
  20. Congrats Monty, guess those 62's will be moved to the back now. Darn nice score indeed!
  21. Having two of them (both?) I'd say get both lol. Although it's substantially the same show, the first one has little... (whats her name)...oh, Venus Hum who sings Donna Summers, drats, what's the name, "I feel love"?? and man, this little girl has a pair of lungs. This is in my view, easily as good as any song on this dvd. The next one, (how to be a megastar?) has same songs but different girl and in my book, this girl can't hold the boots that Venus walks in when it comes to singing this song. However, the second one has a nice rendition of Pink Floyd's Careful with that Ax. I also have one of the cd's and honestly at times, think the CD is just as good as the dvd's other than the visuals missing. I think the CD is fantastic for showing off some percussion (as well as thinking the dvd is fantastic for same) You keep picking on disks I have....why don't you just come visit for a weekend and we'll rock out? Thanks for the help Coytee, I may have to take you up on that offer sometime. LOL. So they only have the two DVDs??? What is the name of the first one?
  22. Anyone tell me of a really great Blue Man Group DVD? Thanks
