Another thought that I had, is whether or not it is feasible to "Transplant" a RF-7II or RF-7III driver from the "Round" basket to the "Square-ish" basket from a donor RF-7 10" driver?

This would entail re-foaming the edge of the cone to the older basket. This isn't an ideal solution but perhaps could work.

Another idea I have kicked around is create an adaptor ring that could be inserted into the RF-7 cavity and allow the RF-7II/III speaker to used as a drop-in replacement.

    Bob..

Sounds like you have done some thinking and if an original pops up grab it if realistic.

Patience and looking. As for another 2 or 3 model Klipsch part use, research and see what others like @Iteachstem

    may advise there @Robert M.

It's similar to DuraTex. I have read other's squabbles and at the end of the day, it is the same old duck season/rabbit season argument. I have seen both and I like them both, but I have not seen them side by side to see if I like one better than the other.... other than price.

    DuraTex - $94

    ExoHyde - $75

Thanks James, really nice sounds like. Will remember.

Oh, I thought it might be the cost of the coating or something.
It looks like a lot of work to refinish them ready to paint, whereas Duratex will hide a lot of the small stuff. Also, if they had an industrial finish, rather than paint, they might not be scratched so badly.

    Agree, alot  of sweat investment.

What is this Exohyde that you mentioned?

    Thanks!

So how do I know those are K48S?  Unfortunately I dont know what all the numbers mean.

    Or am I misunderstanding something...

Both the first reply are basically original chorus speakers the k

and the e, as understand it the e for made by Eminence.

The one mentioned by member are the best replacement sold by Klipsch, which you need to contact Klipsch about.purchasing. The k-48-st.

So, the originals used, or new replacement by Klipsch.

Just verify 4 Ohm instead of 8.

    HI all!

I recently acquired these Klipsch La Scala loudspeakers built in the 80's ('88 possibly). They are in immaculate condition and are in their original shipping boxes. Unfortunately they have the original AL crossover, which I've read isn't ideal.

That being said, I'm curious what the current/fair going rate is for these. I've read they could be worth between $1500-$3000 depending on the condition.

AL crossovers have gotten a bad rap... listen and say.

I was watching the one they did outside in my car, another audio friend of mine was getting in when there was some heavy bass. When I told him it was a video of a speaker demo, he was just as impressed as I was.  Just my 2 cents, if a speaker can reproduce well enough that when  a video demo is played back and the sound is that good, I'd say mission accomplished.

Was going to ask if you want to post one's you heard here. I for one would enjoy hearing.

    Thanks!

This may just be me, and though I have never heard the new Jubilees in person to compare to, I have to say that every video recorded demo I have watched, they sound fantastic. Probably one of the best sounds I have heard and I don't pay too much attention to these demos, but those, they're different.

When I see Mr Delgado's youtube again, going to put it here. Heritage Jubilee...

    Cool

4 x 8000f's and a KV4. Al run off Adcom 200 watt per channel amps. I am about 16 feet from the center channel and the room is 22 foot wide. Listening area wide though is about 14. Got 2 more channels ready at 200 watts for the rear surrounds.

Not certain that anymore speakers are needed with this answer.

You may want more yet, you are covered. Although you are rich in Adcom watts, not needed with these efficient speakers. Saying this, do watt you like and want.

    Alright now...
