  1. Beautiful, just beautiful. These would be the only speakers I would ever upgrade my Khorns to. Thank you so much for what you have done for our country, you deserve it so much and be safe out there. Whats the mounster on the av rack next to the make shift rack, it looks like a giant amp. Duder
  2. Sounds like his screen is not 2.35:1 or wider. Does he have a standard 16:9 screen? from what I can tell jametown doesn't give you a option, they claim the way they make there screens fits both very good. When we go to the projector calculator for 120" diag, the deminsions for horizontal and verticale, for both aspect ratio don't match up.
  3. My buddy recently got a projecto 120", Most of the blu rays were 2.35:1 I find this with most of my blu rays maybe this is why I go with blu rays now. WIth my tv I don't notice it but with the projector i notice it more. For some reason his screen from jamestown seems to not have much of the black bars regardless of the moive aspect ratio. my 2cents worth.
  4. does anyone see the edit tag in my sig, If so I don't know how it got there or how to get rid of it.
  5. Good point, I think that would be the same between the 26awg and the 24 awg. Spend the extra couple of dollars and be happier. thanks Nick
  6. Same about optic toslink, there is 6 mm and 8 mm any difference in sound quality. Nick
  7. I will be running a dvi to hdmi cable from my comp to my TV, It will be about 20'. Monoprice offers a couple seems to be once you get into longer runs they only over thicker cables. I have the option to get 25' of either 26 or 24 gauge. Will I notice a difference in either one. I know its only 4-5 dollars difference but the way I see it there is no reason to spend money if I don't need to, but if I do then I will. Thanks Nick Dillon's Rainy day Women just started playing some I going to crank it up and chill for a min.
  8. How big is your chopping stump or how big would be, I always liked chopping wood. I don't have a fire place now but do a have fire pit in the backyard. I always found chopping wood a good exercise.
  9. Gary good to see you still around even after going through a flood like that, hope all is well and can't wait to see some pics. Hopefully them beautiful Khorns of yours didn't get ruined in the flood. Take care. Nick
  10. That was from Elunevision AudioWeave, is it audio transparent, and electric drop down. Can't wait for the pics.
  11. Thanks for the comments guys, For the record I would never stack my ps3 on top fo anything. It actually was in the cabinet by itself, I guess do to my neglect I never had taken it out and dusted it, I have tried fixing it but it only seems to be good for streaming music off of my comp. When I do get a new one I will be getting one of those fans that connects to the back and it will be on top of the entertainment center were it can get plenty of air. I will be building a new entertainment center this summer which will have bigger cavities I think I might even find a way to add some fans in the back. Thanks
  12. Just watch out when you jump for the train if you miss from what I can tell you will loose lims.
  13. How much area around the Emotiva amps do you need. I have a upa-5 I have been sitting on for about a year, I didn't have a space in my entertainment center for it or it would have been installed already. But now my ps3 craped out on my and I have my wife convinced if we get a new one I will be putting it on top now for air flow. So this leaves me with some space in the entertainment center to put the amp in, there is plenty of space on top but I don't know if there is enough air flow on the sides. I guess I could look at the owners manual to see what it says, but it looks as though some of you might have yours in a tight space. thanks Nick
  14. Santa brought me Across the Universe on blue ray, put it in my ps3 to watch with the kids, ylod(yellow light of death). Had to do the turn off and on with my finger on the eject button unitl it spit it out. At least I was able to get the movie out. looks like I might be able to fix it though. Merry Christmas to all. Nick
  15. My buddy has a Jamestown 120" screen and a all in wall speaker system, with 2 inwall 10" subs being pushed by a Dayton plate amp 240 watts pushing both. Problem is it is rattling It off the wall. Any screen mounting tips to keep it from falling off the wall. Thanks Nick
  16. I will like to see how this turns out, will you be using it with a Heritage product. Pics when you a done I always like a finished product.[] Nick
  17. I don't know much about that tone arm, but I would see if there is a free printable compass. This is what I did and copied it to a piece of oak paper. Also see what the weight needs to be on the end of the tone arm for the cartridge/stylus should be. I would think if it is all set up properly you should have no problems.
  18. I sorry it isn't the single one, to the left of the single one is a dual sub out looks like they label it front sub and rear sub I would think you would just use the front one or rear one as were your sub placement is. Hopefully this makes any since. If not let us know. Nick
  19. You might need a y adapter connected to your sub like one of these http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10236&cs_id=1023603&p_id=6261&seq=1&format=2 and this then would run to what looks like the single rca plug to the right of the reciever, might even be purple color coated. There might be better cable to use but I use rg59 for my sub and have no problems but this might give a idea what you need. http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10236&cs_id=1023601&p_id=619&seq=1&format=2
  20. I had a issue with my top E string on my bass as it kept breaking I finally had some work done to it about a year or 2 ago, since then I have never replaced my strings. I think it sounds soooo good. then again I don't play as much as a lot of guys do. sorry to hi jack for a min. now back to the original program. Nick
  21. HTC evo 4, I will take a look tomorrow if I get a chance. If I have music on my windows media player, I know they might not be fully losseless or as much as they would have been if I put them all on winamp but if I decide to move all my libary that is on WMP to winamp is there a easy way to do so and will it change any of the format. thanks
  22. You guys are cracking my up. The images in my head with guys tip toeing around the house with cd players under their arms like a burglar sneaking around. Setting on the floor with a pile of audio gear looking up at his wife like a little kid getting busted doing something he wasn't suppose to. See this is were I am able to by time, I once messed up and said I have purchased all the speakers I need for the ht. Doesn't mean I don't have to build any. But were i was going is both of my kids are getting to ages were they want their own setups, I mean didn't we want stereo systems in our rooms at 5 and 8 but who cares gives me a excuse to buy more audio gear[]. keep having fun, and keep fighting for the cause.
  23. Thanks I will have some looking into this weekend when I get time, I don't prefer to use itunes as well.
  24. Going back to this thread, are you still running the Khorns and lascala, or from what your signature says your have your diy speakers. If this is correct how do you feel about the surrounds timbre match with your current setup. The reason I ask is for I am running modified khorns, and lascalas for my fronts, and am looking for the right surround speakers. By modified I have Altec 511bs with K-55 drivers and the Selenium HM17-25 horns with d220ti drivers. My room is way smaller than yours but still want a good sounding surround, maybe going with something like the kpt-8-vbs, or kpt-8001s, which brings me to my next question going back would you still have gone with both model speakers or just chosen one of them and if you were still to go with both models what do you gain by using the 2 different models. I like the idea of being able to raise these up the ceilings, I don't know if I was to stick with Heresies if I would like them blasting right at my face(plus I want to use them in my 2 channel rig). I think last resort would be to go with a diy surround with using the right selenium products. But that would take some heavy research maybe from other sources. thanks
