  1. too much to quote here. I'm with Wuzzer, I think its a psychological thing. Also like Mechman, and Downunder said makes them look classy and leaves more for the imagination. But I am a big fan of nakedness.
  2. Are those custome sound nice. Rosewood seems to be very popular, congrats on the new speakers.
  3. Welcome to the forum, don't make the same mistake i did and subscribe to all the post your intrested to. You will end up with hunderds of emails a day. Congrats on the new purchase, never herd the Heresy IIIs but do own a pair of the Is which I my self love. Hopefully getting ready to get my first Cornwalls but well see, anywho hope you enjoy. Nick
  4. Craig those are real nice looking amps, quick question what is the difference between Ultra Linear, and Triode. Also i wouldn't think you could beat that price for a pair of 60 watt mono blocks especially with the forum discount he offers. But like Joe says if its not in the budget there are a few others it seems.
  5. Thanks for your help folks, I think I Know what I am going to try I will take pics so all can see. Hopefully it dosen't take long for my brother to get me the pieces cut some might be different color which i don't mind cause I feel its just character. nick
  6. James materials is still one of the things i am decided on, I want to go with the granite for the weight for the turntable, but i feel as many shelves i would need for the system it would be to top heavy or the 3/4" through all bolts wouldn't hold up. As far as size goes the biggest thing is my power amp and i hope to someday upgrade to some smaller body tube amps, but we'll have see in the future. This is a good point I guess it doesn't so there isn't much need for them, just thought it would help to keep from over heating in the long runs. Haven't even had a chance to fun for extra long time. thanks nick
  7. Omaha, NE I would appreciate it, but seems you are far from me. Also my brother who works at a kitchen supply shop informed me that they through away sink cut outs all day long.
  8. guys you are a big help. Marvel other than cutting out a bigger opening for the larger horn what other "suitable changes" would I have make. thanks
  9. Well i guess this explains why the guy at the ht store around here gave me a funny look and didn't recomend that.
  10. Man i was just starting to piece together a pair of diyer Cornwalls, after searching Bob Crites web page on upgrades, now finding this(which look like some beauties). I think i know the route i will be taking. Just leaves me a couple of question while I am here. 1. Why wood for materials on these and if I score some K-55 drivers what does it take to mount up, or is there another driver recommended. 2. Kind of not about the horns but about crossovers, looks like Bob offers the b, b2, and b3 anybody's opinion on all of these or any would be appreciated. 3 MDF or plywood for the Cornwall cabs. will be only used for 2 channel for right now that is. The only reason I am doing this is cause no one in my area that I've came across lately is selling them, plus once i paid shipping and handling I could just build them with some killer upgrades. But I sure am I came across this post. thanks nick
  11. I couldn't agree more, i ordered a sample which they sent for free so i couldn't complain. But was hoping on something not so synthetic. But i guess we all can keep looking
  12. was thinking of building one, for all my stuff, was looking for tips or ideas. Also was considering built in fans, is this a no no for sounds or will i be all right, and how should i run them. any advice will be greatly appreciated. thanks nick
  13. Not to change the subject but Joe are those stands made out of granite and thread all bolts, what did you use as spacers
  14. dang i need to find me a thrift store like that around here.
  15. I think you just like the guitar.
  16. Other than blowing a crossover how do you like it, was one of the amps I was looking at for my next home theater project. nice setup by the way 3 Cornies and 2 Heresys(strait to the point) how about a sub for that system any thoughts yet. nick
  17. Very nice setup, my mom even liked it, now if i can just get her hooked. Yeah right. Anyways you sound like you like having a second sub behind the couch, How does this sound. One of the guys at local H.T. stores around these parts gave me a funny look when i talked about doing this, then just recomended to put two up front.
  18. Yous means yous guys have just one seat to sit and listen to you 2 channel set ups. wow I haven't made it that far yet. sounds like fun.
  19. Nice looking table. Didn't know Yamaha made such a thing like everyone elese is saying don't know until you try. Let us know how it plays like you looking for any reviews on anything other then Thorns etc.. Will hopefully envetualy be upgrading from Technics. nick
  20. I almost forgot welcome to the forum.\ nick
  21. I couldn't agree more with Daddy Dee I have recently put my Heresys on the wood floors of my upstairs with a 220watt rms power amp and a pat 4 pre amp and i couldn't believe the bass i was feeling in my chest. I too have herd that the Heresy don't produce the bass that's why i was even more amazed. Also Have had the chance to compare the Heresy vs. the Cornwalls to be honest I didn't know what i was looking for plus they were all backed by 4 15" Yamaha woofers. But I say if you prefer the Heresys over the RF-82or3s go for it. I was once told you wouldn't be happier with a heritage line.
  22. welcome congrats on the belles, nick
  23. what can a person get out of what looks to be a dual sub encloser. nick
  24. When i first herd of a tube cd player I couldn't see it still cant but i guess that's cause i haven't herd one just herd of one. Anywho the one I've seen around was from audio research which was a tubed true digital output, is this true and is it worth the 10,000 what it list for, once i finish my 2 channel with the upgraded speakers, upgrading my preamp, possibly my power amp, and then my table, this tubed cd player might be the next thing to look at so are they really wroth the money or is there better ones or good ones for the money. nick
