  1. If you run into any problems, let me know. I haven't made demo discs for a while, but was pretty good at it when I did.
  2. Actually, he's handicapped or something. He has a scooter he drives around in too.
  3. DVDLab comes with a free 30 day trial. It is the full version of the program, just stops working after 30 days. Otherwise, if you don't care about having a menu, you can do it using only free tools (vobedit, ifoedit). As far as saving all to an iso image, you should be able to burn the scenes, but they would only play on a computer.
  4. Try it out? I know for sure DVDLab works. And I'm pretty sure you get a free demo with it.
  5. Vin Diesel is gay? I just don't see that being true. I've seen most of his movies, too. A lot of them aren't great, but ok entertainment. I'll probably continue to see most of his movies.
  6. What do you mean, I saw one last night, AVS? DVD Shrink will definitely keep the surround sound intact (dolby, dts, whatever). Just click re-author, find the main movie, pick your start and end points, and then you can choose which audio track(s) and subtitles (not recommended) you want to keep.
  7. Pitch Black was good, but Chronicles of Riddick was better. Boiler Room was also a good Vin Diesel movie. I watched xXx a few years back, thought it was ok. Can't really remember what it was about though...
  8. There isn't really a simple one-program solution to making a Demo Disc. There is a lot to it, and it takes practice. The simple answer is to use DVD shrink to get the scenes that you want, then use DVDLab to create menus and author the disc. I used to make demo discs for everyone at the Electronics store where I worked, so I have quite a bit of experience with this.
  9. Not sure what the driver's license thing has to do with anything.
  10. Probably not quite that much in Gulf Breeze, FL.
  11. Agreed. I'd pay her late on purpose, just to teach her a lesson. $925.00 seems like it could be a mortgage payment, rather than a rent payment, if you are in such a position. Just food for thought.
  12. Ouch! I paid too much for mine. I got mine from consoleshop.com. It was the Black Knight case. Like I said, it was no small feat to assemble, not what I expected at all. I had about a half-dozen screws left over after I was finished, but it works! []
  13. One more photo. I got my replacement Wii case yesterday, and spent last night putting it together. This was no small undertaking. You have to take the entire thing apart, there must have been 100 tiny screws! Anyway, here it is:
  14. What do you normally do when you watch a 1.85:1 movie?
  15. Works great for me. I couldn't fit it on the upper shelf, so I took out the shelf, put the speaker on a stand and angled it upward. I think I have it aimed pretty well at ear level []
  16. Or get a TiVo, like I did. I get all my cable channels, except the On-Demand stuff. I was actually toying with the idea (more than toying actually, I placed bids) of buying a used cable box off ebay so I could paint it, and replace the case of my rental box. The TiVo solution was much easier, and I got it for about $50.00 off at Circuit City's liquidation sale.
  17. I've not had any problem with set-up on Denon models. The models I've used have had simple on-screen menus. And yes, just set surround back to none/off.
  18. So, I got a new TV a few weeks back. My old TV was silver, and my components were a mix of black and silver. Since I got the new TV, which is black, I have been obsessed with making the rest of my components black. I just put the final touches on with a new TiVo. Check it out! I've got a Wii, and I purchased a black 'skin' for it, but I have an entire replacement case on the way. The skin doesn't cover the right hand side.
  19. Yep, we had some people in Minnesota who purchased a shattered Plasma TV, and couldn't take it back. Even worse, they paid cash, so they can't dispute with their credit card company. They cashed their tax refund check and bought the TV. I don't know all the details, but I still think they could've probably gotten the same tv elsewhere for about the same price.
  20. Hey, this year all you had to do was predict Slumdog Millionaire for every category. You would have been about 50% right. Jack Black was a presenter at the Oscars (he starred in Kung Fu Panda). He said that he makes more money doing animated films than live action. His secret? He does one Dreamworks animated movie a year, then bets all the money that he made on Pixar for the Oscar. Right after that, Wall-E won, and he became very happy
  21. Yeah, I'm pretty sure the MSRP for the RF-7s was about $2400 (a pair) as well. They actually sold for ~$2,000 in the store. If you got a discount, It would have been off the $2000 price.
  22. I hope you didn't put up any money on these predictions. Especially since Dark Knight wasn't even up for best movie. And Kung Fu Panda over Wall-E? No way.
  23. I just went there last Saturday, got 4 Blu-Ray discs for 12.50 each, and I got an HDTiVo for 206.00. So finally, something worth going in for. I would have bought a ton of Blu-Rays before had they been 12.50, but I guess other suckers were willing to pay more.
  24. Here's a good spot for high quality Cover art. There are some ads to contend with, but really high quality scans.
