Look at JB's avatar. Is he pointing at it? -
Pink Floyd of the Moon ... $54.99 ???

I still have the original album that I bought new back in the day. That's all I have. Darn thing does have a few scratches on it too. That said and fully disclosed I still feel pretty darn complete about my P. Floyd collection. [] -
Here is an illustration of the Costner centrifuge. "The largest device, the V20 centrifuge, can clean up about 200 gallons of liquid per minute, or about 288,000 gallons per day, and BP is reported to have ordered 32 of them so far. Once they’re built and in the water, that could have a capacity to clean 9.2 million gallons per day."

Best Glue To Replace Rubber Surrounds?
JL Sargent replied to Ironsave's topic in Technical/Restorations
I've heard of people using Elmer's wood glue? -
To Vicks credit this hasn't happened. Hadn't heard a negative word about him until this thread got brought back up and this is about a survey? Also the guy is still in the NFL.

"A new compressor only costs around $30.00" Yeah, maybe 50 years ago.[8-)] or maybe Mark can SHOW us all where we can actually buy one for that?

There is a thermal switch that can go bad on these. Seems to be a pretty common problem. Might only be that.

PWK got it right with the type A crossover, period. Not so with the type AL. I have both, no comparison. I have also owned the type AA. For casual listening I just don't think you will beat the type A crossover.

Cut down a green hickory tree. Build a nice outdoor fire with it. Seasoned oak or hickory ok for getting the fire started. Cook down to a good supply of hot coals and add to firebox on smoker. I usually cook for 5 to 6 hours rotating the ribs on the hour and basting with vinegar (the 4% variety is best for this) based sauce. At the end of cooking time rib bones are exposed 5/8" or so. The meat is goofy tender and can be very easily pulled from a rack.

Those listings are always well done with very good photos. There is an art in that itself! The best part is the photo of Bob winding one of the output transformers.

Here is what I've done: Traded in a Chevy diesel that got 14 for a Chevy gas that gets 18. Drive much less since fuel has been over 2.00 gal. No joy riding these days. Recycle all motor oil. Patronize the closest first if possible. Question: Is any oil from the gulf actually is used to make gas or motor oil for cars? Seems like sweet crude from across the pond is what's preferred for such. Or better yet, where does the gulf oil go?

Your new crossovers should sound great! They will perform much better than your 18yr old ones, mostly because of the new capacitors. I couldn't imagine wanting to swap those back in unless you replace those old caps.

Coach Wooden said that more than the championships, final fours, etc. that he missed preparing and practice. That says a lot about the man right there. He was a great example of a very selfless man. Cheers to you coach, your accomplishments speak louder than words.

Up two 240 input volts on a projector???
JL Sargent replied to Coytee's topic in Technical/Restorations
All sorts of "smart" elec. devices out there these days. Some welders will happily take single or 3 phase. 120, 240v or 480v, etc. There are even variable frequency drives now that will take 120v single phase in (typical wall receptacle) and put out 240v three phase! Now that's pretty amazing. "I asked him why did he even care (since we have 110 here in the US)" Yes and that's an interesting way to put it since my 110v actually measures about 127v typically. Also here in the US 110v, 120v, and 125v all mean the same thing now. IIRC the 110v was the original and over time the voltage has increase with technology? -
Gotta love a good pool party!

Watched Wheelman's link. Interesting that all this happened in '79 too! Today they are sawing the pipe with a diamond bandsaw or similar and the saw blade is now stuck in the pipe. I read last night that two relief wells are being drilled too but the earliest they expect those to be functional is early Aug. That of course means two more months of oil leaking into the gulf! What a diseaster!

Minus forty five? Great news, but remember this. It is a life long struggle. Don't let up! Now for new avatars with that girlfriend in em.[]
