  1. I bought these a couple of months ago in order to rebuild them but have too many other projects. They are already at Craig's (so you can save on shipping) and he can do his magic and rebuild them for $450 + cost of tubes (with new front end triode board and beefed up power supply). They are equipped with an unusual front end board (5687 + 6BX7 tubes), Michell binding posts and metal spikes/cones. $650 takes them.
  2. Nice amps for low efficiency speakers (probably too powerful for Klipsch). Great catch.

I'm talking about earth. ---------------- How many VRD amps does Craig make? A couple of pairs per month? Compare this with a small outfit like Cary or BAT or any number of "audiophile" companies and you'll see what Guy is getting at. If Craig were making lets say two pairs per DAY I am sure his costs would go down quite a bit. He would be able to order a parts for a FEW HUNDRED amps at a time. But then the charm of having them hand built by "the man himself" would be gone as well. ---------------- Exactly. I couldn't have said it better.

In fact I myself would take a MC240 over a set of MC30's just goes to show you everyone has different taste. I also think my Mono block blow any MC product away Heck as far as that goes a set of Mark III's done up right put the MC stuff to shame also. I bet this gets things a cooking. But its my hinest opinion. ---------------- I think that the MC-240 sounds better (to my ears) than both the MC60's and MC30's. You'll probably get many different opinions. I agree with Jeff too, you'll probably be better off with the MC275. BTW Craig, what's hinest?
  10. Get the 12AU7 for the PV10 from C-J. Many 12AU7's tend to be microphonic in that PV10 so it's better to buy the stock tubes that the manufacturer uses.
  11. Edmond (and everybody else for that matter), You've all made your point. Time to play another record on your new vinyl rig.

Here's one Knockoff I wouldn't mind owning ( as well as this version of the Khorn) http://live.audiogon.com/i/he2005/f/1116440278.jpg This 18 watt SET amp had filled the 1500 sf room with music like no other (wether it was tube,ss or chip based system) .
  13. Anything made with plywood ( I think 1982 and earlier but I might be wrong about the exact year they switched to MDF ) with either type A or AA networks.

  15. Edmond, Great looking table. I'm glad that you like what you hear.

  18. There's a brand new DL-S1 on audiogon. http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?anlgcart&1126977779 The know this seller and he's a great guy. IMO, it's one of the best cartridges that can be bought for reasonable money and is far better than the 103.
