  1. My Scalas are 1972 vintage. I thought the woofer "hatch" was under the cross over. When was this changed? What driver do I have, and what sonic improvements would I have, if I had to upgrade?
  2. I have Dish Network and love it. The tech people are very courteous and helpfull. Helped my Mother-in-law activateher Direct TV and thought it would take an act of congress. The CD music channels are great. Havn't listened to FM in over two years.
  3. Klipsch headphones would be great! How bout car speakers?
  4. Sounds to me like Alvin has Bologna for ear drums. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. James, I understood Sound&Vision Maagazine say that DVD-A would have the multi channel mix as well as a 5.1 mix and a pcm mix. Am I mistaken or have there been a change in plans? At any rate, when I ask for DVD-A in record stores I"m met with bewildered blank expressions. None of these salespeople have a clue as to what I am talking about.
  6. Just saw "Rocky And Bullwinkell. Lots of mindless laughs. However it was certainly a DD5.1 funhouse. I LOVE MY KLIPSCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Roy, In 1978 I saw the Moodys on their "Octave" tour. The next day I toured the Klipsch factory. This was two of the most memorable days of my life. I've seen the DVD you're refering to in stores but havn't watched it yet. It is as good as "The Moody Blues at Red Rocks"? This is a fine show to.
  8. My RC-3 and Heresys sound more defined without grills. They sound like a veil has been lifted. I leave them on when not in use.
  9. Mr. Flapper, After spending more than two decades with and around Klipsch speakers I can only add that if you don't like what comes out of Klipsch speakers then you wouldn't like what goes in. The sound is not changed or colored at all. Try experimenting with speaker placement and room acoustics and see if you don't grow to love your new tresures.
  10. I've said this all over this forum but here goes again. If you like Janis Joplin singing Hank Williams like songs backed by The Rolling Stones, then LUCINDA WILLIAMS' "CAR WHEELS ON A GRAVEL ROAD" will leave you absolutly speechless.
  11. If you are a bottom feeder then this DVD concert is for you. Chris Squire's bass on "CLOSE TO THE EDGE" will knock your socks off! GOD I love my SCALAS!!!!!!!
  12. Steve Haven't seen "House Of Blues" but just watched "Keys To Ascension". On "Close To The Edge", Chris Squire's bass will punch you in the gut. Never heard my Scalas go that low!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. When I use the SPL meter I understand I'm to point the mic toward the TV,slightly pointed up. Do I point the mic toward the rears or center of the rears or take the reading with the mic pointed forward?
  14. Hi y'all! Just got my db meter and you've really helped me. I've got a Kenwood VR-307,La Scala fronts, and Heresy rears. Does the distance adjustment for the speakers really matter? Iread once that if you use delay that it muddies up the soundfield. The manual says it delays the signals so all the sound from the speakers arrive at the same time. I can't tell any difference. But I want my ht to sound as good as possible. Should I delay or not?
  15. NeilYoung AT RED ROCKS really rocks in stereo but aapproaches "LIVE" in 5.1 An absolute must!
  16. ROGER WATERS "IN THE FLESH" Great concert by the heart and soul of PINK FLOYD
  17. Thanx Afraid! Think I will use my bar stools at the bar and get stands for my Heresys. COOL!
  18. It is sort of grey bands that undulate with the audio. Located at top of TV screen. Does not occur unless the volume is extremely loud. Never have it this loud when watching movies but I tend to crank it when watching DVD concerts.
  19. My RC-3 sets atop a Magnovox 27" TV. At loud listening levels I have noticed video noise.Does the RC-3 have shielding problems and if so is there a quick fix?
  20. Have world class proffesional equipment with nothing to record. If you live in the Shreveport area and want to record some homemade music mixed and mastered with KLIPSCH speakers contact me in Minden.
  21. Mayby I should not be so biased, but when I said "flat" I was refering to "0". I chose KLIPSCH for their accuracy. This is how it sounds and I dont want to distort what an artist created. Using EQ is like drawing a moustache on The Mona Lisa with a magic marker.
  22. I went looking for DVD Audio the other day.You would think that in a city the size of Shreveport there would be someone who would have some knowledge of this exciting new medium. NONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Went to three different stores and received blank expressions. Anyone from the Shreveport area know any music store that carries DVD Audio?
  23. Just watched Remember the Titans. Excellent! A must for anyone from the class of 72.
