  1. Yeah, they shouldn't be falling apart like that. Tell us how the sealing goes. Congrats on your new purchase and enjoy!
  2. Both of my pairs have white woofers, except the 2 I had to have replaced (I think my first pair were abused) which are black and a different model. Woofers sound identical though. I'm pretty sure they are both 6 ohm speakers from what I remember. I'll check when I get home.
  3. And people wonder why I bought a second pair.....

Regards Jim ---------------- Sorry, I couldn't wait. I bought a 630 on eBay a few days ago for $76. Appeared to be in great condition. Should be here any day now.
  5. Damn, I'd swap you considering I have 2 pair KG-4's, but alas I already have an Xbox. Have you played Splinter Cell yet? Simply awesome. Brute Force comes out next month and also looks great. Good luck on selling it.

If the only difference is the video shielding (hence the "v" for video), then I should try to get the 2.5's for the rear channels? ---------------- 2.5's would work great in your existing setup.
  7. KG-1, 1.2, or 1.5 would all work as surrounds. The KG-2's would be even better IMO, but wall mounting them would be difficult. I would look for a SVS or the RSW Klipsch line for a sub. The RSW are better than the KSW line. It all depends on your budget.
  8. I have an Outlaw running a Paradigm HT in the "other" setup and the Denon running the Klipsch below. I honestly can't tell you how the Outlaw sounds with Klipsch since I'm too lazy to A/B compare them (I may do this in the future sometime though), but here's a bump for you. You might also try the HT forum.
  9. Read the first page of his feedback. He's attempted to sell speakers he didn't have in stock before.
  10. Post a question in the 2-channel forum about the year it was built. You would probably get an answer in there. By the way, congrats.
  11. It's not a 430, but for $76 I couldn't pass it up. Looks like it needs a bulb on the right side, no biggie. Can't wait to hear it. I think I'll set up a 2 channel rig with my other pair of KG-4's and see how it fares against the Denon. Doh! Forgot link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3012874661&category=3279

The cannons sound good even through my crappy sub.
  13. I'd be interested in the H/K 430 (if it's for sale, lol) Please PM me if M00n doesn't buy it.

If you like sigur ros (very ambient instrumental music check out: God Speed You Black Emperor! and if you dig violins in the mix alot Silver Mt. Zion. If you like the indie sound, top of my list for that vibe would be... Rainer Maria, Ida, Alpha, and you will know us by the trail of dead, the shins, and low, and maybe some elliot smith. I saw someone mentioned thursday, other good "emo" type bands I'd def. recommend (other than the obvious dashboard confessional, saves the day, get up kids) would be Juliana Theory, fairweather, further seems forever, hot rod circuit, audio learning center, ok I could go on and on, but I'll stop:) -mkl ---------------- Joy Divison is one of my all-time favorite bands (behind the Smashing Pumpkins of course). Their music is just fantastic. I also have all of GSYBE's albums. Great stuff also. Good indie and emo choices. Here's a great 80's indie CD you should try out: http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&uid=8:07:26/PM&sql=A8xknu3xkan8k
  15. 1.2's would work as well.
  16. 2.2V in black: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3013153348&category=14991 Only downside: Seller has no feedback. Be cautious.
  17. $124 for that piece of junk? Honestly, WTF?
  18. I got all 5 of my Klipsch speakers below for $600 shipped with stands and Monster Cables Z Series wires. $2000 goes a long ways.
  19. I got my KG-4's for $175. The only way I'd pay $260 is if they were in VERY good condition. If the woofer surrounds are cracked or the wood is dinged up, take a pass. New woofers are $80, just to let you know they aren't cheap to replace. If they are as good as you say, go for it.

  21. Stay away from Aiwa. Their CD players crap out in short periods of time.

If he does, and I suspect he will, he will have 4 speakers to work with. He plans to save up for a fifth KG 2.5 to use as a rear center. What would be the timber matching choice for a front center? Is it the KG2.2V (seems to share sensivity, 93db and other components, ie tweeter & crossover)or perhaps another KG 2.5? I also have an RC 3 II that I will not be using and figured to sell. Any thoughts on his proposed HT System would be appreciated. His planned system 2 KG 2.5 Front Mains 1 ? Center Channel 2 KG 2.5 Surrounds 1 KG 2.5 Rear Center 1 RSW 10 Sub 1 Sony STR DA 2ES Receiver 1 Sony NC650V DVD ---------------- I would try and find another 2.5 for the center, but if not, I'd stick the rear 2.5 in the front and look for a 2.2V for the rear. The 2.2V looks like the best match, but IMO the 2.5 will be better suited for the front center. The rear channel isn't nearly as important when matching speakers as compared to the front.

Most of the time I drop them in the middle of the night and shove them under my bed. I've forgotten once or twice and woke up and stepped on them. Nothing has broken or bent that I'm aware of. Rock solid.
