  1. +1 on Integra's.... I LOVE my 6.9 Got it for under $500 off of Agon. Perfect condition, original box, manuals, etc.
  2. From what I'm hearing from e3 it's supposed to be a great little machine. 3D without glasses is something I feel like I could get really into. I know we won't be able to maximize our speakers potential with a handheld... But I've got Klipsch buds!!! Too bad it's about 9 months away...
  3. Thanks fellas, I was actually wondering how this game was. [Y]
  4. I also bought a mount from monoprice... Very heavy duty, holds my 50" Panny with no problems. I'd feel comfortable with a 65" on it....$24 if I remember correctly. Good luck!! Jrod
  5. http://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/ONKHTRC180/Onkyo/HT-RC180-Thx-7.2-channel-Network-Receiver/1.html http://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/MARSR5003/Marantz/Sr5003-Dolby-Truehd/Dts-hd-Master-Audio-Av-Receiver/1.html Both are solid units, a bit over your price range, but worth it IMHO. A4L is both a Marantz and Onkyo authorized dealer. Good luck and let us know what you decide!! Jrod
  6. For the original poster... +1 on getting the 64, sounds really nice with the 82's after some AVR adjustments. You will not regret it!!! Jrod
  7. Welcome to the madness Wes! Looks like you got a fantastic deal, enjoy it! As far as the RC-52 to RC-62 goes, that's a great idea. My only advise would be this... The "Upgraditis" bug struck me pretty hard when I first got REALLY into Klipsch (about a year ago). I originally purchased a RF-25/RC-35/Sub-10 set-up, and I really liked it. The problem was, I always wondered "what if"... Within 3 months of purchasing my original set-up I had upgraded to my RF-82/RC-64/RT-10d set-up. Every speaker in my upgrade is a pretty significant jump, however, nothing compares to the difference the 64 made. It was like night and day. Now eventually my end-game is RF-63 or 83's, so when I found a GREAT deal on a 64 it was a no brainer. I'm rambling a little, my point is this... If you are planning on upgrading anyway (RC-52----->RC-62), maybe look into getting the best center possible, if that's where you are going to end up eventually, it will save you money in the long run. You are obviously someone that relishes a great deal (as are most of the people on this great forum), if you are patient, a great deal on a 64 will come around. The 82's sound incredible with the 64 after some AVR tweeking. Again, welcome and good luck!! Jrod
  8. I personally have never dealt with A4less.com, but I've heard good things. They seem to be pretty well respected. Plus, they are an Onkyo authorized dealer, I think their refurbed units carry an Onkyo warrenty.
  9. Bilka, As you can see in my sig. I run an Integra 6.9 (same guts as the 706) and I really enjoy it. GREAT with movies, really good with music once you get it dialed in. It had everything I was looking for (HDMI, new HD codecs, pre-outs, ect.) when I got it in January. I ended up adding an external amp about a month ago and just have the 6.9 handling the processing, but the 6.9 had plenty of power to run my 82's and 64, I just wanted a little extra oomph with the Outlaw. I think you would really like the sound of the 706, especially if you are really into movie watching, this is where the Onkyo/Integras really shine, IMHO. Jrod
  10. Can't argue with that! [Y] Like Youth said, there are crazy deals on Craigslist, you just have to be patient and diligent (check ALL the time). And, like winchester said, if you can come up with a 64, do it, you will never regret it. My front soundstage was had for your budget (I also had to drive across the country, but, I've never regretted it once!!).
  11. You're 608 will handle an RC-62 and RF-82's just fine! I ran my front soundstage off my Integra 6.9 (100w/ch, just like your 608. Actually, they are VERY similair receivers) for a few months and it held its own. Now, did the sound improve once I added the Outlaw? Yes. Was the sound really good (especially on movies!) before the Outlaw? Yes. Amps can come down the road. +1 on the RF-82/RC-62 front soundstage. Jrod
  12. Great score...sweet app! Is there an iphone version of said app???
  13. Hey Joe! Welcome, and like everyone else, thank you for what you do for this country (and freedom, in general!!)! Okay, I really don't have any advice as to where you should look for your gear, but as you can see, I own 82's and I run them with an Onkyo receiver (Onkyo owns Integra, and the 608 you are looking at is very closely related to my 6.9, many of the same features, same power, ect...). Now I've added an amp recently, but the Integra alone had enough power to run the 82's to very loud/clean levels. All I can say is that I LOVE my 82's/Onkyo combo. Absolutely fantastic with movies, and once you get it dialed in, not to shabby with music either!! So, basically, I guess this a vote for that combo. Once I get a little more settled in my life (just graduated college last Sat, Boomer Sooner!! ) I'll probably look to upgrade to the RF-63's or 83's, but for now the 82's suit me just fine, and are a great "bang for buck" speaker. Good luck and let us know what you end up with!! Jrod
  14. Nice! I love EJ and Heart, I'll have to pick those up. I'm a BD concert *****, if it's even remotely good, I have to have it!!!
  15. Nice Wuzz! Congrats man! What music BD's do you listen to when you demo? I hear ya on the size/weight issue... You never realize how big 65-75lbs is until its in a rectangular box that you are having to lift into a certain spot!! Let's get some pics of that new-look rack!
  16. You also might want some acoustic treatments for those concrete was, that might be a pretty significant upgrade. If you DIY it could be fairly inexpensive too![Y]
  17. In my experience, the RF-25 (predecessor to the 62's)---->RF-82 upgrade was pretty darn significant. Now, that said, I will be purchasing RF-83's at some point down the line, but the 82's popped up and I got a fantastic deal on them. If you can find 82's for a good deal I wouldn't hesitate to jump on them. When you've saved some $$$ sell the 82's to absorb some of the cost of the 63's or 83's........ At least that's what I'm doin![]
  18. Congrats Wuzz! Let us know how it sounds, all that Emo gear seems like such great "bang for buck".
  19. I would advise going with the RC-62 no matter what fronts you end up with. You don't want to skimp on the center since it handles so much of a movie's (and TV, and games) sound. If you can swing the 81's, I'd say do it. You don't want to get the 61's and wonder "what if". I've never owned the 81's, but people that have seem to love them. Don't be scared to search the used market for deals. Good luck, let us know what you end up with! Jrod
  20. Whoa! With Frampton?!? I have NOT, I need to see that!
  21. Thanks a lot guys for talking about Archive. I had never heard of it until a few posts ago and now I'm hooked! They have tons of shows from my favorite band of all time (Guster) and loads of other shows from bands I love. Just wanted to say thanks for the heads up. How could I have gone this long without knowing about that site?!?
  22. Man, that's rough. I just read through this thread, that sucks. Over 2 grand to fix it?!? What a joke. Coffee table would be cool.

    Rt-10d

Don't you think that's a pretty good deal, CECAA? Looks like Daryl might already have a beat on it...

    Rt-10d

Sorry Taz that no one responded a little sooner to your question, and also welcome to the forum! I rarely stop into the Sub Forum, so I never saw your question. Anyway. Okay, as for your question, I love my RT-10d. I had a Sub-12 before and the RT is lightyears different. Not that fair a comparison though (MSRP's aren't remotely close). That said, I got a fantastic deal on my RT. So, depending on your price range and the price you are getting the RT for makes a big difference. At the $1700 msrp of the RT I think there are probably quite a few better options. Now, if you're snagging one for say $500-600, you're probably getting a pretty darn good deal. There are only a few subs out there that would be comparable to the RT-10d at under $500. My $.02, good luck and let us know what you end up!
  25. Sorry, that came out a little jumbled. I think you get the point.
