  1. My PF Cover band is better than yours!!! hehehehe Check this out!!!!! http://www.aussiefloyd.com/
  2. I would not waste any time getting the "upgrade bug" till u have at least lived with them a few weeks even months if you can. Or if anything, get them back to spec, then listen good for some time. I have heard some mods, sorry to say, really suck!
  3. Tough one to answer... all three up front same wattage yes... For a gazzilion reasons. Really all around, I would have it the same too. IMO. I cant even imagine getting a read on a DB meter, trying to adjust it, let alone tweek it once in a while? 200 WPC will give you dynamics and reserve boost power...(Blah blah blah) That u might really "enjoy" at peak times. I realise very general... but thats my 2 cents.
  4. So would you say running the Carvers in stereo mode @ 200wpc would be better? YES!!!
  5. Karma is a thing always to consider.. Do the right thing, give it back, it really was not yours to begin with. Hopefully something will come back your way!! BTW, Those Rolex boxes are worth a lot too.
  6. Are you suggesting another 3.2 for the center? If so, I understand the timbre aspect . . yes
  7. Bret is winning as we are all watching now. Nuff said. Go Colts!
  8. Kg3.2 Figure a way to make this work. TIMBRE matters!!
  9. Always, yes ALWAYS, wire for 2 subs and for 7.1... it will save you later if you go this way, and really not a big expense at all now. I stand by my use of the word ALWAYS too. hahahaha
  10. Keep the sides and rears the same.. And at the same height if possible.
  11. Indianapolis, IN to Miami- Ft lauderdale, FL... Picked up 6 LSI Bass Bins 4 LSI tops.. giggled and in heaven...then over the allegator highway to Naples, FL where I needed rest. ( More like a dinner with my friend Michael for some incredible seafood, then I crashed. LOL) It was the first time I ever had "Diet RockStar" drinks... You know after about 5 of those in my system, Michael said I missed my calling as a comedian. LOL I do not do drugs, but all that stuff in me had my mind spinning like I was on something. hahahahahahahahaha I was telling jokes, making sh!t up and making voices just to pass the time along. Some fun singing, too, late in the evening! We decided to stay 2 days in Naples, and then we drove home to Indy. It was really cool to see Michael totally relax. Michael drove a few hours on the way back, we got into a really bad rain storm, I got nervous of his driving (even though he was careful) and we just switched at the next gas station break, then I drove from then on! LOL Funny story, we went to Burger King at about 1 am on the way down.... Again me on the "Diet RockStar" drinks... So instead of throwing away the last stop trash at Burger King for breakfast sacks, I threw away the new Burger king food.. hahahaha Not to worry, at the next exit, I just re ordered it all... except for the drinks. Michael kids me about this to this day. That's what road trips are about. it was a great find too!
  12. I had to laugh..... in some SE asian countries, "Ladyboys" are quite convincing..... I bet this gets removed!!! hahahahahahaha (Edit) OK, I looked at this again, and again... She is hot! And hope that is her seat too. I would say Philippines or Malaysia.
  13. OMG! New York City is hosting the Olympics of text messaging this week. Competitors from more than a dozen countries are participating in the LG Mobile World Cup. The winning team, judged on speed and accuracy, will take home a $100,000 prize. Participants include Kate Moore, 16, of Des Moines, the 2009 U.S. National Texting Champion. Kate, averages 12,000 texts per month. She says she can "talk and text at the same time, without looking at the phone." Hmmmmm Even makes Colterphoto1 look like an amature! hahahahahahahahaha How many per day do you post on average?
  14. I have all the speakers u mention. Minus a Jubilee or a 20 thousand P 39 speakers.... ok now I can talk... The K horn was always my favorite Klipsch speaker overall. Most dynamic range, big room full of sound music wise, Since I was 15 years old. In a good room, with the music you mention, the K horn is just magical! That said, (Without ticking anyone off in here.) It is a very hard speaker to incorporate into a room properly no matter what Klipsch or anyone tells you... U need 18- 24 feet between speakers... to really appreciate them. If your thinking HT, your still going to need a sub for the big booms etc., etc., too. Ok Roger back to topic... Between a Cornwall and a La Scala, the Cornwall will sound muddy, but it will have more bass. The Cornwall is a better overall you can throw anything at it speaker true... The Cornwall is an amazing speaker, it sounds clear and wonderful..... That is... until you hear the La Scala. (That, too, in a LA Scala is determined by what is the music your listening to as well.) Have I confused you yet? My 2 cents./.. if your ear loves the sound of a K horn... Get the La Scala's and do not turn back.. I did, in my HT, and I am still very happy! Best overall match.. La Scala's with a quality sub. Or a TSCM bottom and a La Scala top. But that's another conversation. LOL
  15. Whatever your side height... Make sure your rears are the same... I don't care what anyone else sais.. Above your seating postion sides and backs..it will give you depth!
  16. Hahaha Yes, that shotgun blast at close range will tend to make you feel you just you know what in your pants. And yes the air pressure seems to change and you even feel the poof of air hit you as well. (Seriously, it is that intense.) Thanks go to Glenn for the heads up on that movie.
  17. months... When u made measurements, I had speakers out of phase?? LOL Go figure, I made a mistake . I added the second bass bin for the center channel... It just "feels right" is all I can say for sure...
  18. 100% personal bs chat on this one..I assure you.... You said, "What I like is a wall of sound that you can have while sitting at a desk working (that’s how I listen to music.)" I have to ask about your room size here, and the location in that room of your desk too. Because you sound like this is an office I assume at home? That said, the "big ness" of these speakers will not really be appreciated in such a small room, because you will need some loudness to get that "wall of sound" feeling in my opinion for it to hit you just right? So here we go. I'll try with my 2 cents. Your gonna need great corners to help you with K horns. K horns in my opinion, need a room with great walls, a unobstructed back too, and be 18- 24 feet into the corners. I have to ask too...if you have a monitor in front of you, thats going to screw things up a bit too. (I have these.) The Jubes are just HUGE.... They might be fun, you may also desire a sub too. Both the Klipsch will display any hiss or bad recordings that will make your fingernails on a chalkboard pale by comparrison. With good recordings too.. they will WOW you! That said, in a big office... A bigger family room etc., they are just awesome. (heard these a lot.. Friends have these.) I cant speak too much for the exact Tannoy you mention. I still feel you need to be in the sweet spot or they suck. And a lot of money too.. (Heard Tannoy at stereo fests..) As for the JBL's LOTS of money, away from the wall, with LOT's of power needed too.. (Heard at CEDIA.) Sorry to say, not the best place, and not 100% OMG impressed.. NIce,,, yes I am sure.. but didn't wow me like no other. An opinion is like a pooper shoot. Everyone has one.. Some smell (In this case sound) worse than others...
  19. You mean 7 Split La Scala's, (Timbre up front DOES matter!) Two Klipsch THX KW 120 subs, with the KA 1000 Amp, with the Velodyne SMS-1, Bass management system, (I needed the boost the signal to the sub amp and appreciated the EQ function of my room too. It made a BIG difference with the Sunfire Pe Amp) , and 2 THX series KS-525's as side surrounds. OK, Guys n Gals, LOL,.... Do not forget before that, get a Laser Pointer to point them exactly to where you want them to go. ... LOL It will make a difference, just trust me! Grab your radio shack DB meter. Go slow.. Write down your results. (In the real world, you might want to boost the rears 2-4db. It is my personal choice, but many have done this also with good feedback.) OK, now.. Here we go.... 3 La Scala's up front (with a 2 La Scala bass bins for the center channel. I know crazy, but the Sunfire Amp can handle it.) 2 Klipsch THX 120 subs powered by the KA 1000 Klipsch Sub Amp. 2 side surround speakers the KS-525's (Also THX ultra 2, and turned up more, to compensate.) and 4, yes 4 La Scala's, in the rears. There are lot's of prettier rooms, I am sure.. Some amazing ones, done right here on this forum too. Many have better equipment than I do. In fact, most all mine was used. As for Speakers, I went for 4 La Scala's in Cleveland, Ohio, 4 more in Ft Lauderdale - Miami area Florida Driving with my friend Michael too. All this starting from Indianapolis, Indiana. BTW, I do not understand people who might not drive 20 minutes for their "dream system" or weasel out cause it was 50 dollars more..???? I smile every day I get the opportunity to use it and to entertain others and turn them on to Klipsch too. Share the Knowledge, Share the Experience, I say! It's what makes this forum just amazing! I will say this too.. 720P really dialed in is just awesome. I am still on my original bulb and have a spare just in case... The clock has run over now I think 2 times.. And yes I consider that a very lucky miracle... Also having controlled lighting in a dedicated room I can also make all black, helps out too. As for the sound? It is amazing. The Sunfire Pre Amp and Sunfire 200 x 7 just is great with Klipsch! But it also depends on the broadcast or movie to show that off too. One of the things now is I am not so sure I have "tinkered" with, (That's "man speak" for tweaking something to ruin what you worked so hard to get perfect for YOUR tastes.... in months) is the sound. It just feels right every time. Besides... The forum has new members now and I have no clue who they are LOL. It's time for them to search and find their desired dream theater. If you want some real world advice ask us.. Were here for you too.
  20. The good news is that despite their differences, a backward compatibility for video exists between HDMI and DVI. Because HDMI evolved from DVI, they are both identical when it comes to video.
