  1. MORE HEADROOM NEEDED. To get the most out of the AW650s I would use an amp with more power. I am using an old Kenwood rated at 125 wpc with my KHO 7s and they are a nice combination.
  2. Check out the HSU STF-2 NEW under $400 shipped. I just recently purchased one and am very satisfied with it. http://www.hsuresearch.com/products/stf-2.html Good Luck, Cliff
  3. Just would like to add, if you want to spend the extra cash, get an outside sub: it will fill out the sound field much more then you would think.
  4. You are going to be pleasantly surprised with your new set of outdoor AW650s. ENJOY

    bi-wiring

Bi-wire tried it no difference. But bi-amp that is a different story and would be obviously benificial.
  6. If that is audioliquidators they will charge you more then double the regular shipping rate.
  7. Well I do not have the AW series, but I do have the KHO-7s. I have them setup with a Polk Audio out side passive sub, and is sounds fairly good. Get many positive comments from people who hear it. I too had to go to the outside speakers, because my wife did not like me dragging out my bookshelf speakers and amp all the time. I think if you are not going to use a sub then the KHOs would be a better choice, but if you are going to use a sub then I would go with the AW 650's. As a matter of fact if I can get a good price for my KHO-7s, I would get the AW 650s which are listed on Chicago Craigslist now. I thing you will be pleasantly surprised with the sound, especially with the overhang that you have will make it fuller, but by all means get a subwoofer. The passive subs do not go that LOW but they do make an audible difference. GOOD LUCK Cliff
  8. Being the diehard White Sox fan that I am I just have to post this one. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA YouTube - Go Cubs Go parody (Choke Cubs Choke) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NrobcJa_EV8
  9. You know the sad thing is that somebody will actually want to buy it!
  10. I too have been a very very happy, Chorus II owner. Soft or LOUD and they will play very, very loud they are a great speaker. If I had the room the only thing I would replace them with would be (La Scala, Belle Klipsch, Klipshorns) not sure about the Cornwalls. Cliff
  11. There is a lot of money that can be made off Craigslist. I look for underprice electronics, Klipsch speakers in particular, buy them and resell them at a very good profit. Some people just do not know what they are getting rid of sometimes. Keep an eye out for a good deal and good luck setting up your system. Cliff
  12. NO guilt, just enjoy or sell them for more and get something else.
  13. Glad you got rid of the HUMMMMMMMMM. I had an SW 12 hooked up to an old Kenwood amp that was humming. I just ran a wire from the ground post on the amp to the middle screw on the wall outlet and it went away.
  14. Here are two to consider: http://www.hsuresearch.com/products/vtf-3-mk3.html http://www.svsound.com/products-sub-box-pb13ultra.cfm How big is your room? How much do you want to spend?
  15. Two of the biggest changes are roughing the quarterback and the five yard rule. In the old days there was no roughing the quarterback call the only call you "might get" was unnecassary roughness. As far as the reciever, as long as the ball was not in the air, they could get HAMMERED and knocked on their a** at any time. Those two changes have significanly changed the balance to the offense. Remember Terry Bradshaw once asking when are they going to put skirts on quarterbacks? Cliff
  16. You can not compare the two eras when it come to offensive stats. The game then was play without all the rules that help the offense and quarterback. I would venture to say that very few quarterback of today could have physically survived the beating, the quarterbacks of the older era received. That is my personal opinion of someone who watched plenty of football in both eras.
  17. That is what I was thinking also.
  18. My wife has one, my son has one, and me the one who pays all the bills does not have one.
  19. Yes that is why I did not buy it, those specs, LOW end of the +/-3db(from Emotiva themselves) do not match up. The HSU STF2 was 22hz bottom end +/-3db, just a decision made on manufactures specifications. Maybe if I listened to them both in A/B comparison I might have chose differently but I had no way of doing that. I just hope I am as happy with my HSU Research sub as you are with the Ultra 12. Sometimes I may rely on technical specification too much. Enjoy your new listening experiances. Cliff
  20. Hello Cliff, First of all thank you for your interest in Emotiva. The +/-3dB frequency response of the Ultra 12 is 30Hz-200Hz. I hope this helps and please let me know if you have any other questions. Best Regards, Emotiva Support Emotiva Audio Corporation 135 Southeast Parkway Court | Franklin, TN 37064 615-790-6754 | www.emotiva.com
  21. According to Emotiva technical staff the +/-3db is only 30Hz on the low end.
  22. Does your amp have more the one set of outputs? If it does you use rca audio cables from the preamp out into the sub. If you only have one set of outputs then get two y splitters (one male into two females) and y it into the sub and amp. Should work because I have seen it on a sub owners manuel somewhere, Cliff
  23. I sent them an email and I am waiting for a response. I am happy for you and glad you are enjoying your new sub. The Velo in WI is still available and depending on what Emotiva sales tells me, will then make a choice. Emotiva now has the Ultra 10 on sale great price but not a good enough sub for my needs. Enjoy, Cliff
  24. I can not believe it, I was waiting to see what you think of it and now I go to the site and they want $599 for it now plus shipping. That sucks!
  25. Go for it if I lived down there I would be interested in it. It would cost $100 plus to get that "BEAST" shipped to me.
