  1. I have the same situation and I just do the 5.1. Maybe when I rearrange the family room I can have 7.1 but then I will have to deal with my dear wife and why I need to set up 2 more speakers.
  2. Costco has great customer support and no questions asked return for 90 days with receipt. Fini go get that TV and enjoy.
  3. Well it depends on the market value where you are selling. It took me 6 months(in Chicagoland area) to get my KLF-C7 for $325 when the seller originally wanted $375.
  4. YES SIR Mr. Fini go for it, you will be very happy with the HD picture, especially watching your beloved Giants.
  5. Cliff, this is exactly what I read, and I believe 42" and under was the point of diminshing returns on 1080p. I have had two TV salesmen tell me the same thing and you know they would rather sell the higher priced 1080p!
  6. The bigger the screen size the more visual the difference between 720 and 1080 therefore the smaller the screen size the LESS noticeable of a visual difference. It is a simple matter of lines in a certain space the smaller the space you can get by with less lines.
  7. That is a Westinghouse brand not sure I would buy it. Samsung is the way I would go but it is too pricey.
  8. Fini, I have only heard good and great things about Panasonic Plasma. If you do not want 1080p and at 42" you may not really need it, I think this is a great buy. HDTV is the way to go, I say go for it. I will add though if you want to spend more and get 1080p on a bigger screen, check into the DLP LED TVs; they will last almost forever and have a very good picture.
  9. Yes that extended warranty is a great plus at no extra charge.
  10. Ironsave(Matt) Make that Forte's with KG 5.5
  11. The Kenwood KA 7100, 8100 and top of the line 9100 are excellent receivers. I had the 8100 that was still working when I sold it last summer. I still use a Kenwood Basic M2A amp that works great but the Basic C2 preamp has balance control problems so stay away from them.
  12. Thanks, glad to know that my 60 year old ears still can hear. []
  13. I can not speak for the Polk but I just recently replaced an RC-35 with the C7 and I am very happy with the results. The dialog seems to be much clearer and distinct with the C7. To me, the RC-35 was a better performer when the volume was turned up but at lower volume it did not shine. Just my two cents.
  14. Do not count out a used Marantz if the price is right or even some old Kenwood's like the KA series very good receivers in my humble opinion.
  15. Way to go great score there Matt. I had a pair of JBL L110s, also made in the 70's and they were very nice sounding speakers. I re-foamed mine and my son took them down to college. I sold them last summer for $300 mainly because I had no room for them and my wife wanted me to get rid of some of my speakers. At the time they were the oldest pair of speakers I owned so they where put on the chopping block. Enjoy your nice new CHEAP speakers.
  16. First top three I could think of I am sure I will remember others but here we go in no particular order: Rolling Stones "Shine a Light" Elton John "Levon" 10 Years After "I'd Love to Change the World" Honorable Mention Billy Joel "Piano Man"
  17. Good series and what a job Thomas did in goal for the Bruins. But what's up with the people in Vancouver???? Really surprised by that.
  18. What a first period for the Bruins! Now they just have to figure out how to score in Vancouver.
  19. I have always like Marantz but the Anthem has some very good specifications and has 8lbs on the Marantz.
  20. Glad you are happy, I myself love the old vintage amps and receivers for two channel sound. Never had a Yamaha though mostly old Kenwood and Marantz. Now when is the Party? Go Bruins [6] Sorry but for the fact that I am a Blackhawk fan I just can not bring myself to root for your Canucks.
  21. Movies between -19db and -27db. Music concerts preceeded by several beers and more consumed during +3db to -9! How about it Matt?
  22. Well if you want to please the wife and if she is like mine then she would like the new G-28 http://www.klipsch.com/gallery-g-28-flat-panel-speaker I just got a pair of XF-48s,which are being replaced by the G-28, my wife loves them. I will take my Chorus IIs and Forte's over the XF-48s but they sound much better then I thought they would. OH ya by the way these post never come out the way you type them in; as to end of line and paragraphs.
  23. Well quite frankly I am surprised to hear that the 525s are that bad. Are they authentic Klipsch or maybe a knock off? All I can add is I have had the KHO 7s and now the AW 650s and I was very satisfied with both. Maybe you can pick up a passive sub. I picked up a factory refurbished Polk Audio Artium Sub 10 for $150 shipped, that I am very satisfied with. Good Luck hope it all works out.
