  1. Ok....... Got my "Old Stuff" all hooked up. Put Beatles 65 album on the old Kenwood. WOW!!! So warm and natural. My 18 year old daughter does not remember ever hearing a record or seeing a turntable do it's thing! ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  2. Yeah, I'll keep mine too. I'll move my Kg's to the front, unbox my SF1's for rears My Scala's are going two channel only with my other 70's gear. I'll use my Technics SA-404 receiver,Teac Cassette, Kenwood KD3070 TT, Yamaha CD player and Pioneer 8 track (just kidding). I already have my 70's stuff unboxed wife is out looking for suitable shelving now. I haven't used my turntable in 15 years! ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  3. I agree! I listen to my music DVD's in stereo not Dolby or DTS, surround just doesn't sound right. I even think movies sound better in 2 channel. I'm really considering going back to 2 channel only. In fact over the weekend I dug out my 70's Technics SA 404 silver face receiver and hooked it up, blew my Yamaha away! Wish the Technics had a remote! ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  4. Hang in there! You'll find them and it will be worth the wait. Also I would look for a mid/late 70's pair. ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  5. I tried receivers from Denon, Onkyo, HK, Technics, and Yamaha at home with my Scala's. Only two were not harsh, Technics and Yamaha. I kept the Yamaha it had a slightly better sound over the Technics. But more than twice the price of the Technics. But, every room environment is different! Try to audition them all at home and see which you like best. ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  6. That's great! Welcome to the Scala World. My room is very "bright" also. This is what I did: Just start filling the room with irregular shaped objects (they don't need to be "soft")on all walls, works great! Check out the pic's of mine, that's what they can look like. ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg This message has been edited by mpgwagon on 06-23-2002 at 01:45 AM
  7. I didn't say they were ugly. I'm looking at my La Scala's right now, I DON'T think are "UGH"!! ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  8. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1360934092 Which is the front? I've seen everything now. Paul would laugh his A%# off! ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  9. Yeaterday I hit the big 50! My Wife gave me a new Yamaha CDC-685 CD player! She really couldn't understand me wanting another black box, but pulled through anyway! I have been using my DVD player for audio. I can't believe how good the CD player sounds compared to the DVD player. Anyone else noticed this? Should I use the RCA or digital outputs? ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  10. Yeah! This is not the place for name calling, take it off line. This sort of thing ruins this board. ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  11. Go with the Yamaha. I tried everything at home & kept the Yamaha ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  12. Nope..... 3 times ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  13. Yeah, what tripod said with a Yamaha receiver. SF1's can't be beat for the money! ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  14. mOOn we are neighbors! It is gloomy out today. My three sons all have Klipsch in their homes . My daughter is wanting Klipsch for her computer. They know better than to buy anything else! My oldest was over yesterday cranked my Scala's for about an hour. Then he started searching Ebay and the local papers for a used pair. Amazing, he wants speakers that were made before he was born! ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  15. That's what I'm talkin' about! And they just get better. When you have them set up and it's quite in the house, Scala's are amazing! The best kept Klipsch secret, for the price used ones sell for. ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  16. Technics is by far the best low priced receiver. They do run hot but it's normal for them. ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  17. Nothing like those "Bigolhorns" ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  18. HDBRBUILDER: Chill!! I belive what you say and have no reason to doubt your word!! This poll was started simply to find out why so many 76's have logos that may not be correct. Not to destroy anyones credibility. Everyone responding so far with 1976 models all have the rectangular logo. I would guess these have all had the logo's changed. Or... the rectangular logo was in use prior to your arrival stopped and then started again possibly for supply or quality issues?? You have to admit this is strange. ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  19. So far there have been no 1976's with the "Pie Slice" logo. My 1976 La Scala's, when new, came out of the shipping boxes with the rectangular logo attached. The logo change must have occured sometime in 1976? ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  20. HDBRBUILDER: OK, I added the 77's. This could get real interesting! Lots of factors come into play. When did production stop on the Heresy's with flush fronts? They seem to be the hardest to find. ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  21. Which Klipsch logo is on your 1975,76&77 Khorns, La Scala's, Cornwalls and Heresys? Pie Slice PWK or copper rectangle with horizontal stripes. This is the logo used on the front of the enclosure. ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg This message has been edited by mpgwagon on 06-12-2002 at 01:16 PM
  22. If a pair of La Scala's are playing in a forest and their is nothing around to hear them would their be any sound? ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  23. The rectangular logo's were on mine when they were sold new in 1976. I have seen several 76' Heresy's and Scala's with the same. 1975's and older all seem have the pie slice. I have never seen any 76's with a pie slice logo. Time for a poll! ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  24. I think the rectangle logo appeared before 1977. My 1976 La Scala's have the rectangular "Klipsch" logo. Might be different on Cornwalls thou. ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  25. Cones should be heard and not seen. ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
