  1. Here's some of my Klipsch stuff. I hope this works! What a view I have When sitting on my sofa, nothing better than looking down the throat of a horn! ------------------ Home Theater: Technics SA-1040DX Klipsch SF1 Fronts Klipsch KSW12 Sub. 2. Yes, I have tried the KSW 12. In my opinion the Klipsch KSW subs don't get the credit they deserve. The KSW 12 is a good sub. Placement is tuff but when you do get it right it's a great sub. It Adds the Bass the La Scala's are missing and it seems to be plenty fast. Just place it correctly and get the crossover set (mines ser at about 60) and it works great. ------------------ Home Theater: Technics SA-1040DX Klipsch SF1 Fronts Klipsch KSW12 Sub. 3. Well, I got them. WOW! Much more accurate then the KG's My only complaint is they are too heavy. I'm hearing things I haven't heard before. Serial numbers show they are from 1974. The cabinets are very nice with only minor "Battle Scars". I paid $650 for the pair, is that a good price?? ------------------ Home Theater: Technics SA-1040DX Klipsch SF1 Fronts Klipsch KSW12 Sub. 4. After all I've read on the Klipsch board I'll be picking up my La Scala's at 9:00 am tomorrow. Are they relly gonna be that much better than my KG's? 5. I'm still using my 1970's Technics (Panasonic) for audio. It blows away my new Technics AV receiver both in sound quality and power.Looks better too! Demo some new receivers at home before dumping the Panasonic it may be better than you think! ------------------ Home Theater: Technics SA-1040DX Klipsch SF1 Fronts Klipsch KSW12 Sub. 7. The SF1's do a better job with vocals. Bass output is about the same. Probably do to the difference in crossover frequency. SF1's crossover at 2000Hz. SF2's crossover at 2800 Hz. I like the sound of both, just don't think the 2's are worth the extra dollars. ------------------ Home Theater: Technics SA-1040DX Klipsch KG 3.5 Fronts Klipsch SF1 Fronts (on B switch) Klipsch KSW12 Sub. 8. My son uses SF2's as fronts they can't be beat for the price, but I prefer the SF1's. Both the SF1's and SF2's bass output is far better than the SB3's. I've heard them all side by side in my home. ------------------ Home Theater: Technics SA-1040DX Klipsch KG 3.5 Fronts Klipsch SF1 Fronts (on B switch) Klipsch KSW12 Sub. 9. I had an Apex and took it back. I ended up with a Panasonic DVDRV 31. The Panasonic plays everything (MP3's, DVD's, VCD's, CDR's etc.)like the Apex but there is no comparison in build quality. Audio and video are far superior. The Panasonic can be had for less than $200.00. A few dollars more than the Apex. ------------------ Home Theater: Technics SA-1040DX Klipsch KG 3.5 Fronts Klipsch SF1 Fronts (on B switch) Klipsch KSW12 Sub. 10. Try this: Take the drivers out of your Klipsch enclosures and mount some Blose cubes in the holes! I have 2 Blose cubes mounted in my KG 3.5's. I did have to enlarge the hole where the horn was with my jig saw.I may mount a third cube in each cabinet by cutting a hole in the back of the cabinet then I can have that famous Blose "reflected" sound. Maybe I should also cut holes in each side to mount even more cubes (you can never have enough Blose). I need opinions!! This should give a sound that words can't describe. The only real drawback is you lose the classic Blose "cute" look. I would like to here from others who have modified there Klipsch speakers with Blose drivers. lol ------------------ Home Theater: Technics SA-1040DX Klipsch KG 3.5 Fronts Klipsch SF1 Fronts (on B switch) Klipsch KSW12 Sub. 11. Ever notice that your Klipsch speakers sound better at night? If you've noticed this why do you think that would be? ------------------ This message has been edited by mpgwagon on 08-31-2002 at 07:26 PM
  12. I tried these budget receivers in my home: Onkyo, Kenwood, JVC, Sony and Technics. All with similar features including DTS and Dolby. To me the only one that worked well with my Klipsch speakers was the Technics SA 1040. It has a smooth warm sound (the others sounded harsh to me)with lots of power and features. It does lack digital inputs and Technics receivers run warm. Give the Technics along with the others a listen in your home and trust your ears. ------------------ Home Theater: Technics SA-1040DX Klipsch KG 3.5 Fronts Klipsch SF1 Fronts (on B switch) Klipsch KSW12 Sub. 13. Klipsch is buiding what I'm looking for. That's why I buy them. I will never spend $3,000 for a single speaker neither will 90% of speaker buyers. Klipsch needs the "just another speaker" lines to support their high end lines. For the most part I feel Klipsch alredy does what You are looking for, far better than any other brand. People hearing my system are blown away. When they ask "what kind of speakers are those" and I say "Klipsch", they say they have never heard of Klipsch. That tells me that my Klipsch speakers are "NOT just another speaker". Klipsch is very, very far from being "just another speaker company". A perfect example of that is this Forum. Just my opinion ------------------ Home Theater: Technics SA-1040DX Klipsch KG 3.5 Fronts Klipsch SF1 Fronts (on B switch) Klipsch KSW12 Sub. 14. Just picked up a pair of new in the box, KG 3.5's at my local authorized Klipsch dealer. The dealer just got them in. Since these speakers were discontinued in 1997 where are the dealers getting them? They were in factory sealed boxes. They will be replacing my SF 1's.My wife is on her way getting now a second pair of 3.5's. The 3.5's sound much better then the SF 1's and seem to be a better match with my KSW 12's. ------------------ Technics SA-1040DX Klipsch SF1 Fronts Klipsch KSW12 Sub. 17. I have a desire to build a 1970's music only system. I'm a Technics fan so I'm want a 70's vintage Technics receiver (I'm thinking 50 WPC should be plenty) with Klipsch Heresy's. My question: Is Technics a good choice compared to vintage Sansui, Marantz or Kenwood? I love the looks of those 70's aluminum face receivers with the wood case(Guess it's my age). How do the receivers from the 70's compare with current models? Opinions please ------------------ Technics SA-1040DX Klipsch SF1 Fronts Klipsch KSW12 Sub. 18. The Synergy series SF1's, SC1's, SS1's will blow away anything from Blose. And Come very close to the RF's in sound quality. The KSW Subs are better than given credit for. I think the SF1's are more precise than the SF2's. Give them a listen. ------------------ Technics SA-1040DX Klipsch SF1 Fronts Klipsch KSW12 Sub. 19. My Klipsch dealer never trys to steer me to anything else. Is Klipsch mainsteram, Yes. Good thing. I waited years for an affordable great Klipsch speaker. I have noticed that on this board Klipsch is not given enough credit for it's "lesser" current line of speakers. The Synergy series blows away anything close to it (in price)and some speakers costing much more. Best thing, they sound like Klipsch. Would I like Khorns? sure! Do my Synergys sound bad? No way. Will they blow away anything by Bose? No contest. Everyone who hears my system is amazed. My system has sold at least 10 pairs of Klipsch speakers to people who have heard it. Klipsch does a bunch of things right,a full line of great speakers, from a great company! Just my 2 cents. ------------------ Technics SA-1040DX Klipsch SF1 Fronts Klipsch KSW12 Sub. 20. Can anyone tell me the year of these Heresy's by the serial numbers? S/N-69S394 and 69S395. I was thinking Heresy's for my fronts. How well would they match my SF1 rears, KSW 12 subs(2) and SC1 center. I love my SF1 fronts, Would the Heresy's be a disapointment? 23. I would like to see the Home Audio Section of the Forum have topic sections for each family of speakers. Synergy, Reference, Heritage etc. It would make it easier to communicate with others having the same types of systems.
