  1. Thanks fini. I just bought a few of those albums from the link. As for RLJ's first album, I have 3 different pressings. I bought the original in '79, and have a nm Japanese pressing to go along with a nm MFSL pressing that I paid a fortune for on the bay. :-) Mike
  2. An oldie but a goodie.. I still haven't opened up the Talking Heads album, but did open the RLJ Pop Pop, which I have now probably played over 50 times (I also own the Classic reissue which I have been meaning to give to Thebes as his Chrismas present the last 2 years). Since then, I have bought the entire Music Matters Blue Note 45 set (they have a few to go), and I have only opened the first 2 I believe. They are numbered, and all of mine are #278. Mike
  3. I just finished my room. I like the way it turned out...
  4. I miss mobile and parrot. Lots of interesting characters back then. These were the good old days when there was a lot of 2-ch activity. Mike
  5. The 2 channel rig is all on the right side of the rack, and are the only components made of wood, so I wanted them all together. Thanks for the nice comments. Mike
  6. I too always like a nice rack........ No but Mike really nice room, quick question how far apart are those K-horns from corner to corner, and how does it sound. Last but not least I hope you have a piece of glass on top of that one Heresy so you don't get a water ring from that plant(those are some nice matching veneered speakers). But nice clean looking setup. Thanks for the nice comments. The Khorns are 9.5' apart from inside corner to inside corner. The rack is 6' wide and the TV is 5' wide. As for the plant, it's fake. [] Mike
  7. Thanks, Youth! It actually looks a lot better than the pictures convey. Now I just need to add the little details that bring it all together. I have some Godfather posters that I'm thinking of framing and hanging on the back wall behind the couch. Mike
  8. Well after procrastinating for a year or so, I finally got around to redoing my living room. We put in a new wood floor, fresh paint on the walls, and a new recliner couch and loveseat. I also had a custom audio rack made with custom stands for the rear Heresy's. The racks are made from plated aircraft aluminum, and stained 1.5" maple shelves, which I had to recess into the rack to allow for the height of the turntable not interfering with the new 63" Samsung plasma TV. I also bought a used pre-pro (Anthem D2), Acurus A200 amp for the rears and an Oppo BDP-83SE that I share between my 2-ch system (CD's) and HT system (everything else). It's taken me awhile to get familiar with the new gear, and do the initial settings for everything. After about a month I'll start tweaking and try the room correction software (ARC) that comes with the D2. So far, I am very impressed with how it sounds. I am attaching a few pics of the near finished product. Mike
  9. I decided to get the Oppo BDP-83 SE, mostly because I would not need a dedicated CD player due to the 2-ch DACs in the Oppo, which I hear are very good. I should have it hooked up just after Christmas so will let you know my thoughts. Mike
  10. Somebody just got a real killer deal ! The 4800 is a great unit if you dont have to have HDMI. Yeah, I sold it to my girlfriend and she wouldn't accept it for free. []
  11. I just sold my 4800 for $100 so not sure if I would call that a killer deal. Mike
  12. I just got my SE but won't be hooking it up for a couple of weeks. I too got it over the BDP-83 for the upgraded DACs in the analog 2-ch outputs. I play very few cd's but was hoping this unit would change some of that. I'll let you know just after Christmas. Mike
  13. And one on the bay... here's the one you want! http://cgi.ebay.com/Mint-REVOX-STUDER-A77-4-Track-Stereo-taperecorder-/290506505358?pt=Vintage_Electronics_R2&hash=item43a3897c8e I wonder what this one will go for. Mike
  14. Here's what mine look like from the back. As you can see, Greg did a fantastic job closing in the backs. Mike
  15. Ki, I'm going to shoot you an email. Mike
  16. Just call them and you will get Jen. She will be able to answer any questions for you. Now is the time to do this as they have the aluminum bodies in stock. Mike
  17. No question about it Rudy. Those are my Khorns, and if I had it to do over again I wouldn't change a thing. [] Mike
  18. Ask him if the tweeter is between the woofers or above them. If between then definitely the CF-3's, which are a kicka$$ speaker.Either way, it sounds like a great deal. Mike
  19. Chris, I'm in the same boat as you. Jen said they are waiting on Aluminum bodies. I told her to keep my money as this one is just a spare for me. She said I should have it before Christmas. Mike
