  1. Having lived in many places including georgia. I really want to move back to the south. I did not like atl though... I want to get to Nashville or lexington... I would rather live in Georgia or even outside of atl rather than where I'm at now... It's worth the experience... Crime is everywhere and there are many safe areas in atl...
  2. Congrats on the new purchase. Did you see willland has this Sunfire sub he's selling? I did, but I'm dont have the buying power for that yet... I have to take baby steps...
  3. I picked up a pair from audiogon... Hopefully everything works out. I'm looking forward to getting them... Thanks for all the help.... Next will probably be a new sub.. I'm already eyeing the sun fire signature true....
  4. Need to remember that not all the sellers on amazon are authorized...
  5. You will have a very similar setup to a lot of the other guys out there... Enjoy it. I have had my reference setup for about 4 months now and use it everyday that I am...
  6. I had a pair of 2.2s awhile back in my ht system, but I didn't use them as surrounds... You got a good deal though... I really enjoyed them when I had them. They were my first klipsch speakers I ever had.... Have fun with them...
  7. Looking at your signature it looks like you have pretty sweet system...
  8. Is 450 plus shipping a good price? There is a set on audiogon... I feel like it's pretty average listening to the feedback...
  9. I almost bought the same avr as you.... I hope you enjoy your system.... I have been enjoying mine for awhile.... Good luck
  10. Gorm and I are working something out.... I've had good luck buying from other forum members in the past... and this would get me 1 step closer to finishing my HT... although like many of the others here, i'm not sure if it will ever be finished...
  11. Gorm- I am def interested. I sent you an e-mail a few days ago, let me know.... Thanks. -GWG
  12. What is a good price on a pair of used RS52? Assuming that they are 100% perfect with original boxes... I'm having trouble finding a good baseline. Thanks.
  13. well, I'm not huge into swapping out gear, besides the wife wouldn't go for that... it was bad enough when I went from the quintets to the rf82ii....
  14. I'm looking forward to finishing this element of my HT, but it won't happen for at least another month if I buy them new.... after this, I'm not sure where I will go next... probably look at gettign a new/bigger TV
  15. Sorry for my delayed response. Ive been out of town the last few weeks... But after reading I am sold on the rs over the rf.... I am interested in the set for sale... Will pm shortly... Thanks for all the help... Since I only have space for 5.1 I can really only get them on the end tables on the side of he couch...
  16. I am going to purchase new rear speakers to go along with my rf 82's and rc 62, I know that the rs 52's is the speaker that goes with the package, but I can get the rf 42's for a lot less money, and I know that a lot of people on this forum use floor standing speakers as rears, and I'm wondering if I will regret going with rf 42's just to save a few bucks... Any thoughts? Thanks for all the help.... -BC
  17. so what do you think so far? when I was able to finally get mine going, I was blown away, but it was also my first multi-channel seperates system
  18. good point, also if you bought it new, you can call EMO's tech support, they are really helpful...
  19. I don't care much for watching DVD's anymore either. For the longest time I didn't understand what all the hype was with Bluray.... than I built an HTPC and about 6 months after I built it, I decided that I was going to throw a Bluray drive in it.... now I won't even bother watching a DVD....
  20. It took me awhile to get used to all of it... I have the UMC-1 and UPA-7 as well, and it is an awesome combination. Question 1: On the menu key you can adjust the video screen settings on the umc-1. Go to the main "menu" go to "setup" go to "video setup" I have Time Warner and I have mine set on "Auto" this basically lets the umc-1 decide what fits your screen best. If you have it on "pass-through" it is sending whatever your dish box is sending. I initially had a lot of EDID issues with my HTPC, but once I got it, it has been working great... Question 2: Yes, the latest harmony remote codes are set-up with the new metal remote, I have the Harmony 700 and I had to change some of the buttons on the Harmony remote to be organized to my liking.... Also, with sound set-up, when listening to music the UMC-1 will generally defualt to "direct" and I found that runing the UMC-1 in "stereo" mode sounds a lot better on my system.... Good luck, also I would check out the Emotiva Lounge... there is a lot of good information over there...
  21. this was the top hit off Google for 1 of your questions... "A Preamp's job is to select source inputs (your DVD player, radio tuner, cable box, etc) and provide volume control. A Processor's job is to decode sound formats like DTS, perform digital-to-analog conversions and in some cases even handle things like video scaling. Those two roles are typically combined into a Pre-Pro that does both." I would describe the UMC as very nuetral... Xki and I have almost the same set up. Haven't seem him around in awhile, but he generally is on point.... Personally, I couldn't be happier w/ the Emo products I own. I would never have been able to afford seperates otherwise. I've owned Onkyo products before, and I would say they were nuetral as well. I always felt Harmon Kardon/Dennon to be more on the "warm" side.... Good Luck!
  22. http://www.klipsch.com/na-en/where-to-buy/default.aspx I found 14 dealers in Seattle that carry ref line... good luck.
  23. "United Audio" was also a good store, I liked Simply Stereo better though. United got bought out by Tweeter and than that whole chain went under. Another cool store in the Chicago Area is Holm Audio. They don't carry Klipsch at all, but they have a lot of cool gear in there... Does anyone know if the "audio consultants" are still around?
  24. Unless you really want them, they are not all that important. If I didn't get mine for free a long time a go, I wouldn't have them now... My advice would be to get banna style plugs, they should be all the same size???? and don't spend a lot of money on them either....
  25. I had 2 NAD2200's that I ran as mono-block amps for awhile in a 2 ch set-up that I no longer own. I really enjoyed them and I like NAD's products. I ended up going w/ a B&K reference amp don't remember the model anymore, and felt it was a little "warmer." The NAD's had a ton more head-room though... Before I decided to go seperates I was just about sold on one of NAD's recievers. I would reccommend NAD products...
