  1. I have owned many SVS and Rythmik subwoofers and I can tell you that $/$, Rythmik offers better $/performance ratio. I would consider both companies in my top 5 subwoofer companies out there and SVS’s return policy and customer bill of rights is pretty much unmatched. Just don’t sleep on “little” Rythmik as their customer service is also amazing, plus you can actually speak to the owner of the company, if you were so inclined.
  2. I love me some Rythmik subs! Which ones do you own? Sorry, don’t have any experience with either of the mentioned speakers, just saw a fellow Rythmik supporter and I thought I’d chime in😬
  3. I actually prefer the amps in the Pioneer over the Denon but I like Denon’s room correction better. For full disclosure, I am using Denon now and I am not sure what version of Pioneer Elite receivers are using for room correction, so hopefully someone will chime in with some real works experience. To make things even more confusing for you, I am probably going to give Anthem or NAD a shot, the next time I feel my receiver is falling behind the technological curve. Here is some free advise, that I don’t follow myself; don’t try to keep up with all the different technologies. These companies know that by adding IMAX, or an “upgraded” DAC that dummies like me will sell their current model for pennies on the dollar to get the latest and greatest. These AVR’s are like computers and upgrading yearly can be terribly expensive. Ask me how I know all this;)
  4. I just pulled the manual of your receiver and I am afraid Bostonmurf is correct. Your receiver doesn’t have pre-outs with is a prerequisite for adding an external amp. The good news is that just about every AVR, in the $1k range has pre-outs. And yes, both the receivers I linked have pre-outs.
  5. This is the never ending argument, on just about all audio forums. YOU will have to be the judge on whether you need an external amplifier, after you have upgraded the receiver. Both the receivers I linked are very powerful (many other options, those were just the ones I would be considering, if I were in the market) and offer tons of features and performance, especially considering the refurbished pricing. Do a little research on the different receiver options, in your budget, and pick the one that offers the most features you are looking for. They will likely be in the same power range so I wouldn’t put too much weight behind the watts/channel ratings. Receivers in this price range will have quality on-board amps. I am in the camp that it is better to have an external amp when driving 5+ speakers with a receiver as the watts/channel starts dropping quite a bit with multiple channels are being used. With that said, many people haven’t heard a difference, in their room and with their listening habits, when they went from using a top-shelf receiver to adding a multi channel amplifier. Others swear there was a “night and day difference” when they stopped using a receiver’s internal amps to a beefy external amp. This is where the problem arises, as everyone has different sized rooms and listening habits. You will need to make this big decision on your own, but the testing process is what I love the most about this hobby!
  6. Yeah, those speakers are begging for a Receiver way up the food chain. Something like this: https://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/pionsclx701/pioneer-elite-sc-lx701-9.2-ch-x-135-watts-networking-a/v-receiver/1.html or if you want to stick with Denon, this: https://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/denavrx4300h/denon-avr-x4300h-9.2-ch-x-125-watts-networking-a/v-receiver-w/heos/1.html A room that size, you would likely benefit from an outboard amplifier down the road.

    What I Got Today!

It comes with a remote, that you use to control the colors and other settings. I actually prefer leaving the white LED on when watching TV, heck, I now leave them on 27/7 m. It makes everything look “crisper” for some reason. Here is what I ordered: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0788Z13K2?psc=1&ref=yo_pop_mb_pd_title Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    What I Got Today!

Thanks to a fellow forum member’s recommendation, I picked up some LED lighting to go behind my TV. Very good use of $40! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Large Magnepans have already been mentioned.. Add dual 15’s and a BEEFY 2 channel amp for the Magnepans and that might resolve some of your audio issues.

    What I Got Today!

I just picked up some mahogany RB-5’s last week but mine have dented copper:( Congratulations on the new additions!
  11. That is awesome! Those sure would be nice to have but overkill for the ~40db listening levels I have in the background at all times😜
  12. Congratulations on the RF-83’s! Those are a true force to be reckoned with!
  13. If I were in your shoes, I would put the entire budget into the front speakers (LCR) , receiver and subwoofer. A year or two down the road, focus on the remaining equipment like adding another subwoofer and surround sound speakers, when the budget allows. There are are some very smart people on this forum so if you post a photo of the room (we like photos) and let us know your budget, we can make some suggestions on your setup. Many of of us here tried to buy everything all at once, within a defined budget, and ended up upgrading over time. Purchasing everything over a longer period of time will likely end up saving you money and more importantly, time. We have some great vendors here, like MetropolisLakeOutfitters, who can get you great pricing on Klipsch gear. I would also buy a refurbished receiver, from accessories4less, since these receivers are basically computers now and are obsolete in a couple years whenever the industry adds some new and fancy technology like this year’s IMAX launch.
  14. That is a great deal for someone looking for a computer setup!
  15. If I were in the market, I would probably go with last year’s RP line, if they can be had at big discounts. With that said, if they were priced similarly, I would go new version all day, based on the improvement in the looks department alone. I second contacting MertopolisLakeOutfitters. I have purchased a few RP speakers from him and his prices are hard to beat!
  16. I have never owned the original RF-7’s but from what I have gathered from this site, I believe they can dip down to 2 ohms. I am sure the loyal and knowledgeable RF-7 crowd will be chiming in very quickly. Oh, nice setup!
  17. Not for everyone but I believe the less chemicals/drugs you put into your system, the better off you will most likely be. And no, I am not talking about getting off any needed prescriptions or anything like that. I just think people should just pay more attention to what we have all been sold over the years.
  18. Sorry bud, I sold the Palladiums a while back. Agreed about the center. This will have to wait until I move as I like my TV stand almost as much as my speakers:)
  19. That woofer definitely looks better than the ones that are in mine but I am likely going to hold out for some that are mint. My eyes would looks at that dent, every time I got close to them. Thank you again for the continued help!
  20. I just snagged a really nice pair but both the cones have small dents and they are missing grills. I would be willing to buy just the woofers, just the grills or maybe all 4, if the price works within my budget. let me know if you have any laying around, that you are willing to let go of. Thanks in advance!
  21. I just remembered that I have a Sony STR-DN850 just sitting idle. Looks like it has Bluetooth so this will likely hold me for a while, until I feel I need to upgrade.
  22. Missed it but thank you again for posting these deals, your efforts are greatly appreciated!
  23. I will have to look into that Omar, thanks! Well, the noisy part of the puzzle is now covered! Just picked some mahogany RB-5’s for $100. They are missing the grills and the copper cones have a few small dents, which isn’t a good combo. Now I need to either locate some RB-5 speaker grills or a couple replacement woofers. Now I am seriously considering ordering the TA-100 but like I previously mentioned, I am going to have to make sure there aren’t any firmware issues, before I am comfortable plunking down $400. Any other amplifier/source suggestions would be appreciated! I saw AudioEngine makes a computer amp. I am mainly wanting to stream from my laptop so integrated Bluetooth would be a big plus. 24. I agree with you withthe $/performance ratio. I am sure I would have to spend serious cash (this is already a pretty large investment for me), before I would achieve large gains in audio performance. Subwoofers will be upgraded, when this system goes into a larger room but they are overkill in the current room so they will stick around for the time being. I just ordered that LED light, thank you for the idea! I have the acoustic panels below, getting delivered today, but they will probably won’t go up until I move. After reading this forum, room treatment is a must in a dedicated HT so I am going to take it very seriously moving forward. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
