Welcome to the group. Great choices!

I saw these. A mint cherry RC-7 popped up yesterday for $150! I missed out by a few minutes. I would have grabbed these RB-75's to go with it. Doh!

I just received my very 1st Klipsch RF-7II 5.0 System !

Grab Dave Matthews with Tim Renolds Live at Radio City Music Hall on blu ray and a Adel 21 CD. You can thank me later;) Great looking system! -
Congrats on the deal! Those Crorus speakers must be huge, it makes they RC-7 look like a RC-3.

I have gone from SC-35 to Emotiva XPA-5 and back to a receiver. As much as I tried to talk myself into keeping the Emotiva, I couldn't justify it. The Pioneer drove my Klipsch speakers just as good because it used high quality I.C.E. Amps. If you buy a high quality modern receiver, I do not think you will need a separate amp. I do agree with some here though, buying a amp will reduce how much you have to spend to upgrade to new technology. The Denon X4000 should have no problems driving your speakers to ear bleeding levels. There are a bunch of threads over on AVS that take on this argument and the receivers appear to be taking the lead. Some die hard amp guys are going down fighting though.

I've got mine listed for $300 but I'd actually sell it for $250, what I paid. I can't believe the MSRP on this sub was $999. I would have been extremely disappointed if I would have spent anywhere near that kind of money on it.

Yeah, reference was a poor choice of words. I forgot that reference is an actual measurement, doh! I really meant to say that the Icons will be loud when driven with that receiver:)
-
That receiver should be plenty to drive those Icon speakers to reference levels. HK highly underrates their receivers, even the new models. Should sound fantastic also.
-
Very true. I would hate to spend $1k+ on a sub, have the amp go out and have no support. The owner sounds like a great guy though so I hope he can make it work.

Good thing Klipsch resale is so good. I am probably going to try out a reaction sub next. I have basically tried all of the ID companies like SVS and HSU. I am addicted to buying subwoofers though, definitely my favorite piece of audio equipment to buy, we'll that and receivers;)

I got my RW-12D Saturday. I can genuinely say that this is the first Klipsch speaker that has ever let me down. The bass is way too boomy for my liking. I got a killer deal off eBay so this experiment didn't cost me that much and I already have it listed on craigslist. This Reference 12" isn't in the same league as the older RSW-10 that I made the mistake of selling about a year ago.

I would stack me Rythmik FV15HP up against a RSW-15 any day of the week. With that said, I would still love to find a RT-12D or a RSW-15. After all, you can never have too many subs;)
-
The worst part is that he is flipping them. The entire RF-7, RC-7, RB-75, RSW-15 and Yamaha receiver was listed locally for $1,200! I missed it by 45 mins. Then a week later I see everything listed for sale again for $2,800. SMDH!

Have Icons - is it worth the extra money for Reference

Reaction subs have been on my radar for a while. There is a dual 15" vented version that should be available pretty soon. Very competitive pricing and the reviews have been great. -
I'm surprised you didn't recommend that he build 4 18" DIY subs to go with his soundbar. Haha!
-
Congrats on the new gear. Quite impressive!

Sorry guys, I am always messing up the Klipsch subwoofer models. I grabbed a RW-12D off ebay last night for $240, not a RSW-12D. I am still on the lookout for a RT-12D or a RSW-15, I loved my little RSW-10. I almost passed out typing that;) -

I got my RF-62, RC-62 and RB-61 combo a little over a month ago and I am totally loving it. I have owned some higher end Klipsch speakers and this system is probably the best "bang for buck" system out there. I also just ordered a RSW-12d sub to test out, can't wait to try it. You will need to add a sub to the new system but just keep scouring CL and ebay. Congrats on your new system, you are going to love it! -
Good question... I might even attempt building one of these.
-
I know. Crazy! I know I can buy a PSA or SVS or even another Rythmik but I love the looks of this triple woofer Klipsch..
-
Like the title says, I am looking for a RT-12D in great condition. I've always wanted to try one after I bought my RSW-10. I have been looking on CL for around a year and they never pop up. There is one on Ebay for $1,200 OBO but I figured I would check here before I contacted that guy, he has had it listed for quite a while. Thanks guys!
-
Nope but I would be willing to bet it will be a upgrade if they are putting it in their flagship. These room correction auto-calibration leave a lot to be desired IMO. Can't wait to read some reviews..

Great work man! I know I might have sounded a little rough with my earlier post but that wasn't my intention. That looks great and I bet it sounds great to.
